eyewitness news begins with breaking news a teenage girl vanishes in the woods and police are searching for chestnut hill area trying to find her. good morning it is thursday june 11th aim quarter von tiehl. i'm natasha brown in for ukee washington. federal investigators say engineer on the derailed amtrak train was not calling or texting on his cell phone but they have more questions about what happened. time to mourn local county community grieves after a tragedy involving a husband and wife pastor team. more on that coming up but first lets get our forecast and we could be at the beginning of the heat wave. >> i think so. >> this is dreaded day right kate. >> yes, it depend on who you ask because both of you have

different feelings, no one just wants any snow. natasha hates the heat. well we just say we cannot please everybody and we move along, and that is what we're stuck with it. but you are right it is looking to be first day we think of this project heat wave here. lower 90's today today tomorrow, following day and as long as we hit 90 degrees for three days straight that means that definition of a heat wave. that is what we are looking at. we will go out to campbell's camera, sky cam three shot is clear at this point. we will keep that unshine for better part of the day but we will eventually peck to end up here, with some potentially a shower as we go throughout the day. so looking forward in the forecast here, we are expecting these temperatures into the 90's for next couple days as we mentioned expecting generally speaking, to see the temperatures, heat up here as we go throughout the day in the lower 90's with time and that sunnies going to

idea to avoid this closure. vine looks great and around 5:00 is when we tend to pick up that construction zone. as we continue we will go over to i-95 not too far from the sports complex, we are looking good in either direction. looking and traveling 42 freeway one area we have construction zone both north and southbound, between the the atlantic city expressway and 295. we have a moving crew ongoing until 6:00 a.m. may not set you back if you are having early plans to head down the shore but 42 freeway looks good. we will look at this map overall in new jersey we are in the green in and around this area. on 295 northbound on the 42 freeway, northbound 295 between the 42 freeway and route 30, right lane blocked until 6:00 a.m. because of construction. a few construction project if you are traveling in new jersey. as we make our way in delaware delaware county, to 20th two concord pike southbound at 95 the right

lane is block until 8:00 a.m. as a result of construction. usually construction zone tend to set us back during rush hour just good idea to be mindful if that is where you are headed. look at these speed sensors at 49:34. we never have too much of rush hour at this time. i would be a little freaked out i think but as of right now pennsylvania, new jersey, delaware moving smoothly h in delays for mass transit. things look just fine at the airport. natasha. philadelphia police meantime are looking for a gun hand in the deadly shooting that happened 9:30 last night on the 2600 block of north eighth street in north philadelphia police say the 31 year-old victim was shot execution style sitting on the front steps of the home. eyewitnesses describe suspect as a man in his 20's and police are hoping to access nearby surveillance footage to get a better description of the suspect. prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty for two men accused of killing philadelphia police officer robert wilson. carlton hipps and ramone

williams appeared for their formal arraignment yesterday. on march 5th officer wilson was buying a present for his son at a video game store when police say two men attempted a a robbery. wilson tried to stop him and was killed during a gun battle inside that store. federal officials say that the engineer in the amtrak derailment in philadelphia was not talking on his phone or texting at the time of the crash. may 12th derailment killed eight people and injured two hub others. the national transportation safety board revealed that the department, the development to the senate committee hearing however, it did not rule out possibility that engineer brandon bostian's phone was being used for something other than calls or texts. >> there are 400,000 pieces of data involved in the analysis and because of the extent of that things like use of an app a or other use of the phone has in the been determined. >> investigators are still working to find out whether

charges if they were filed against the driver of the suv. we want to get back to the breaking news a search for a teenager who vanish in the woods. >> let get very latest from "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao live at the scene in chestnut hill, jan. >> reporter: we got an update from philadelphia police where we are told they are searching for a 17 year-old teenager who was last seen inside a wooded area here just off of germantown avenue. that is area we are looking at right behind me right next to crescent valley drive-in chestnut hill. police have been here for hours overnight searching the wooded area. this is what police tell us, over course of events that happened starting at 8:00 last night. a 17 year-old was coming home from the concert with her father. they stopped in this area where they told her father she had to relieve herself. they could not wait. she left her cell phone in the car, went in the woods and once sometime passed and she didn't come back her father

got concerned and called 911. that is big response. we have uniformed police officer, we have swat, crime scene unit on the scene. they have been searching for her ever since. it has been eight hours since anyone has heard from her. they have been going through wood here with lights, heat seeking tea advises, they have k-9 on the scene as well and still nothing of her whereabouts. they have found some clues in the woods. they found her purse and other personally affects. they have found items of hers in the woods but they have in the heard from her. police have been contacting her friend, her family from this area. she lives about 5 miles from this area in upper dublin. so is there cause of course for concern this morning. now again police tell us she was coming home from the concert in new jersey with her father they say they have some indication that she may have been drinking last night but right now they just want to find her. they are asking the public if anyone has any fur about this

17 year old girl give them a call. they have released her name as sarah wills she's 5 feet nine 150-pound, they have released her picture and working to get that as soup as possible but back out here live on the scene you can see the big police presence coming upright new searching for her in the wooded area off of germantown avenue for hours overnight. you can see philadelphia police, swat, crime scene unit, no sign of her just yesterday but they did fine other things in the wood, take a listen. >> we had officers with the dogs check the wooded area, we had our aviation unit helicopter overhead with their lights and heat sensors thermal imaging devices check the wood and with negative results. we did not find her. however we did fine her purse. we also found personal items. i don't want to get into

search for two escaped killers from a prison has expanded in to vermont. officers are searching campsites and both slips for david sweat and richard matt. more than 450 federal and state law enforcement officers are taking part in this manhunt. investigators have learned both men had talked about going to vermont before the break out. more u.s. troops will head to iraq, president obama is ordering 450 additional troops to help iraq's army turn back advances of ice is. first objective will be to recapture the city of ramadi from isis fighters. u.s. troops will not have a combat role but joining more than 3,000 u.s. troops who are already there. right now 4:43. our own heat wave day one today. >> day one. that is the forecast, three straight days in a row of 90 degrees. that is the definition. we think we will exceed that today and tomorrow for that

matter. that means will we will be flirting with a couple record, too. probably just flirting. i don't think we will go on a date with them. that is the thought right now. i want to walk you through the pattern. it isn't just all sunshine and heat and humidity. there are a couple showers and thunderstorms that will fire up because we have a very fast flow, in the atmosphere. let me start things off and take you out to storm scan three. we have clear skies but that humidity ramping up for us at this hour. you can see right outside of i-95 or i80 corridor a couple of showers already beginning to fire up around williamsport area for example but we think this will be an isolated issue for us today generally expect sunshine, but we also have to throw in potential that you will see a quick shower or gusty thunder storm. bulk of moisture is way removed off to the north and east and it does appear it is somewhat of a fizzling frontal

boundary. all we will be doing here is starting to heat things up here. off to the west we are tracking a new beginning of the new frontal boundary that effects us by the weekend. but expect that heat and humidity to ramp up here. lower 90's today, low 90's tomorrow, again flirting with a a record, still steamy as well and there will be potential for a shower as we go throughout the day but kind of the same story just for different reason for tomorrow, spotty showers, expectation and then saturday we will expect that heat wave to be made official and now we will see shower or then are storm. walking through the course of the afternoon spotty shower, then are storm still in the forecast but overall we will get sunshine. it is hot out there 93 the expected high. weak drop down to 72 tonight. warm muggy and as we head forward in the forecast lower 90's right through saturday and for more seasonal conditions return as early a as sunday, natasha back to you. still ahead on "eyewitness

updating our breaking news right now a teenager is missing in chestnut hill. >> seventeen year-old sarah wills went missing after getting out of her father's car, near germantown avenue around 8:15 last night. police and other agencies are assisting in the search of that wooded area right now. police are questioning possible eyewitnesses

to the deadly shooting in north philadelphia a 31 year-old man was shot three times while sitting on the steps of the home near eighth and lehigh. he died at temple hospital. accident investigators say amtrak engineer brandon bostian did in the make calls or send text operating the train involve in the may's deadly derailment, bostian does not remember the port richmond crash that killed eight people and injured 200. money watch wendy gilette, wall street had a recovery. what kind of numbers are we talking about here wendy. >> reporter: yes we were wall street snapped a slump. dow jones rallied for 236-point, biggest one day gain in more than a month. s and p500 climb 25, nasdaq finished 62 points higher, natasha a and erika. auto maker issued a recall, what is the problem this time. >> reporter: acura is recalling 50,000 suv because automatic emergency braking system can malfunction. it involve 2014/2015 mdx and rx suv's. there are no reports of accident or injuries in the u.s. because of the problem but it did cause two accidents in japan natasha and erika.

there. barely any. vine looking great. eastbound ramp to the vine street expressway from the schuylkill expressway has been reopened so vine street expressway is breeze between 76 and i-95. i-95 right around cottman southbound traffic still moving smoothly still early before 5:00 we never see a rush hour. once we are close tore 5:30, 5:45 and 6:00 we will see development of rush hour around this area of cottman an i-95. elsewhere, pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware fantastic. speed sensors high up in the 50's with no delays. we are still in the green. traveling in new jersey we have construction on the 42 freeway affecting both side between the atlantic city expressway and 295. there will be a moving crew until 6:00 a.m. they are out there for at least another hour or so no delays at the airport. same for mass transit is looking just fine. weather-wise we will wait for rush hour to heat up because weather will be heating up as

well. >> that is definitely the big story for us, we are seeing these temperatures spike easily throughout the afternoon. we are expecting lower 90's for next three days which would qualify this as our first heat wave of 2015 but for now temperatures are a little bit, you know, laid back. we are down into the 60's, 70's in most locations. we are seeing a hint of cloud cover in recent hours but overall you have just got a clear sky out there. temperatures are definitely reflecting what we just mentioned, mid to upper 60's. we are currently at 70 in philadelphia. fifty-six in atlantic city and wildwood. i call it a decent beach day overall. if we see any showers or then are storms they are exceptionally spotty but maybe just a gusty then are storm but shore has best shot to stay dry here further south you go more likely that is. looking a head to the three day forecast there you have it that makes it a heat wave if we hit 90 or above right through saturday.

>> she was seen walking in the wood at crescent valley road. jan carabao is live at the search scene with the very latest, for us, good morning jan. >> reporter: natasha and erika, good morning. it a has been more than eight hours since anyone saw this 17 year-old girl. there was a large police presence here in chestnut hill. this area is germantown avenue near crescent valley drive. there are a number of uniform police officers here, k-9 unit detectives, swat and crime scene unit. they have been here overnight. last time anyone saw this 17 year-old was at 8:00 p.m. so authorities are very concern. look at her picture 17 year-old sarah wills from upper dublin last seen wearing that maroon top you see in the picture with spaghetti straps, jean shorts and white sneakers. this is what police say happen last night. this is course of the events as we know them. police say her and her father were coming home from the concert last
