jammed screaming fans will be out there. natasha, are you going to be one? not sure. >> shake it off for you. thank you carol. an investigation meantime continues this morning into the cause of this apartment fire in delaware county, the fire left dozens of people homeless, "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live at the scene in lansdowne she's got the very latest, good morning, jan. >> reporter: natasha, good morning. the red cross is now assisting just about 80 people who have no where to stay, they were burned out of their homes here yesterday. you can see just how big this fire was. their apartments now boarded up. much of the belongings are charred. >> a two alarm fire in lansdowne delaware county has now changed dozens of lives. chopper three over the stratford court amounts north lansdowne avenue thursday night, as firefighters did their best to save as much as possible. but most people who live here are just happy to escape with their lives. >> i'm just very fortunate to be alivement and i'm glad

everyone else made it out of the building. >> campbell anderson got out by the fire escape and helped neighbor along the way. he knew they didn't have much time. >> they spread very quickly. i was on the second floor, and i just had enough time to pick up my keys, my wallet, my cat and i saw the smoke rolling up the steps. >> he's now at a red cross shelter along with about 80 other, who were displaced. >> i left everything in there. my purse, my medicine. >> fortunately, katie nelson was able to rescue her cat. some of her neighbors though, could only look on helplessly, as emergency crews worked to revive their pets. >> we got outside renee cross the street, and few minutes later, the whole bottom was you know, coming, two windows engulfed in flames. >> it took dozens of firefighters to extinguish the flames. thursday's heat was also a challenge. crews forced to pay special attention to hydration. meantime officials say few people had to be transported from the scene for treatment as the rest prepare for a long road to recovery.

>> but i feel real bad for my neighbors on the first floor they lost everything. >> now neighbors here tell us that the fire started in the basement near a storage unit, that's still under investigation. also under investigation this morning the cause of this fire. we are reporting live in lansdowne, delaware county, jan carabeo cbs-3 "eyewitness news". jan, thank you very much. also, new this morning police are searching for a gunman, and a motive, after shooting in north philadelphia. the gunman shot a man near 11th and ontario just after 11:30 last night n critical condition with several gunshot wounds. and, police are also now looking for a gunman after a shooting in south philly. it happened on the 600 block of mifflin street. police say the victim was shot in the leg. bullet also struck two cars along that block. the victim is hospitalized in stable condition. there is no word yet on suspects or motive behind this shooting. and, a stabbing victim is in stable condition after he was attack on the 2100 block of taney terrace in south

philadelphia. it happened just before 4:00 this morning and police apprehended a suspect and a weapon just a few blocks away. it is almost a week since two convicted killers escape from a prison in up-state new york. the search now centers not far from that prison. as don champion reports the escape in some towns has brought life to a halt. >> authorities remain focused on the town of katie ville this morning. scouring areas of dense forest, and tough terrain. the latest tip has brought them within miles of the clinton correctional facility, where richard matt and david sweat broke free. >> we need to search underneath every rock and behind every tree until we locate these guys. >> sources tell cbs news, dogs pick up the fugitive's scent in the area. in the woods, police discovered food wrappers, bedding, and footprint. the scene is playing outright in darlene's front yard. >> with them right in front of my house it makes me feel little more at ease. >> prison officials say the

convicted killers used heavy tools, and construction equipment, to cut through a cell wall, and a steam pipe. local engineering steel worker larry jeffers has done work at the facility, he says the two men must have been proficient with the tools or had help. >> either they're very good at what they do, with a lot of good training, or they had some very good equipment or somebody else cut the hole for them. >> investigators say they're questioning several people, including employees at the prison but, so far no one has been charged. don champion, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". 6:07 right now. a scary moment for passengers on board us airways flight. plane hit truck during take off at philadelphia international airport. a passenger on board flight 1708 sent us this photo. the plane was getting ready to take off for boston, when it made contact with a truck last night. the right wing suffered some damage. the plane returned to the gate and those passengers boarded another flight. no one was injured. but oh, owe so frustrating

>> montgomery county man preparing to leave for the pittsburgh area this weekend by foot. >> yes, this is just an unbelievable task. he'll join group of walkers leaving from center city philadelphia on sunday, for the pennsylvania hero walk. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live to explain why this man is taking this extremely long walk. it is even a long drive justin. let alone a long walk. >> it sure; erika natasha. a long walk-in deed. more than 300 miles closer to 320 miles, i'm told, and again, all by foot. and the veteran you're about to meet, says every mile, every blister is worth it, to help our local vet. michael walking a lot lately,

>> let's get our traffic and weather together. kick things off with katie. hot friday? >> certainly s already off to very warm, and franklin, just muggy start. you will notice that. the second you walk outside maybe if you had the air-conditioning on last night, why wouldn't you right? it was so steamy 76 at the airport at this point, and i got to tell you the dew point in other words, moisture content in the air, it is very very close to these values. deal with -- dealing with saturated air mass, will feel morrow press i have today as opposed to how it felt yesterday. granted steamy but feeling even worse today. your weekend "shorecast" oh, this is where it is atment granted shower or thunderstorm in the forecast saturday, from cold front crossing through 78 degrees, in the meantime. and as we look at storm scan3 you can see the advance of that front, a lot of moisture to work with up in the lakes.

carol, over to you. >> well, we do have, i wouldn't necessarily call this a traffic problem but it is a situation that is developing, and this is an accident 95 southbound on the ramp to the commodore barry bridge, right lane block, and i think as we've watched this go through time, it gets little more congested, going backward, 95 south near the ramp of the commodore barry bridge, truck that's off to the side. so continue to monitor. that will traffic moving better than this camera is indicating but still getting some delays there. >> things have not been bad at all, took the construction cones away at 5:00 this morning, everybody sipping in, the eastbound schuylkill expressway. so things are fine in that location, ben franklin bridge has not been a problem either this morning so, even though the volume is starting to pick up, as you come into the sit of philadelphia, but, so far so good.

well as the humidity, a heat advisory is set to take effect at noon today. but, only for a specific zone of the delaware valley. so we zero in on this map. start things off here for you with a look at the heat advisory, and we will see that along i95 and the adjacent counties again at noon today. so, that is pretty much what we're dealing with in terms of the worse of the humidity, and the heat here today as far as location is concerned. meanwhile, taking a peak outside at the live neighborhood network, do you have nice clear sky across the board right now, in row hope, outside the boardwalk plaza if people are already up and about, 77 degrees, and it is, what, 6:30 in the morning? so ya, you start off that warm. it is only going to get hotter from here. seventy-six is the current temperature at the airport we're in at 62 degrees mount pocono, and as we go throughout the day today we are expecting the high to hit about 93, so, just going to be little flirtatious with the record high we think. we'll see how we do, as we hit 95, that will be a tie obviously, looking forward in that eyewitness weather forecast so, keeping the heat

walking out the door on a sunday or monday morning, but as early as monday, actuals renewed threat for showers storms, returns to our forecast. carol, over to you. >> well, we are dealing with some hot roads today. some of them hotter than other. it is not that bad. this is past 202 headed into the city. moving nicely, moving out of the city nicely. the speed though, has changed. if you were watching this morning, everybody at 55 miles an hour, as you tends to find, at the beginning of a rush hour, but as the rush hour goes on, look what ends up happening. you end up getting 25-mile an hour speeds, this is around the city, city line avenue area and 11-mile an hour speeds, and that's on 95, around aramingo. i have a camera to show you just how slow it is, though, these people are creeping along probably faster, little faster than 14 miles an hour or 11 miles an hour, as we've watched over the last ten minute or so. but, still, you can expect, to find your typical slow down headed on into the city, but

slip and slide. who hasn't wanted to do that? such a good time. great way to round out the school year. over to downingtown now downingtown stem seniors they covered the room, what you are being look at, look at the little bits, those are post it's. think of the thousands of post it's, and placing them up, one at a time, all over the largest room in that school. and then somebody had to go in of course and clean all of that up. then double one took their time for this, seniors at bensalem high school tossed toilet paper that's what up here, all over the outside of the school. took a break had a snack went un side, bunch of balloons for the inside of the school. it wasn't over just once you walk in the doors. >> over central bucks south seniors littered the hallway with papers so looking down, you know, those spiral staircase, took bunch of paper, just dumped it on there, so ya. and got sent back to clean that up later. over daniel boone, pretty touch tough to walk through the hallway being blockade of
