you can see the entranceway where the swat team entered as this stand-off thomas. we can show you that as well. take a look at video from earlier, police say it started about 2:00 this afternoon tech they responded again to the call of shots fired, as soon as they responding vehicle with two officers arrived on scene, the shooter started taking shots at them. those officers took cover and with so many innocents in the area, the officers did not return fire they instead were evacuated with the swat team got on scene and took over. so that led to an hours long police stand-off some time shortly before 4:30 a robotic unit send inside the home finding two men dead and a weapon recovered as the swat team cleared the house. of we spoke to the. >> you're looking at -- this is the driver's side of my vehicle. the window frame. coming down next to the windshield. on the passenger side. struck that with two police officers occupying both front seats. doesn't get much closer than

that. jooshgs as soon as i heard the shot i wanted to get out of the vehicle get behind cover, everyone is safe, any other police officers were injured. >> i'm just glad we had a quick police response, no officers are civilians in the neighborhood were injured. >> reporter: and you can see police continue hold on scene, homicide detectives now on scene, combing over the information that they have. there were about 15 to 20 homes that were evacuated in the area. police were left residents to know when they can respond and come back to their homes. for now live in kensington steve patterson cbs3 "eyewitness news". >> steve thank you very much. now to the latest on an overnight stand-off in dallas texas, a man police say attacked police headquarters there has been killed. this is amateur video of the attack on the building. police say the man called the department and said a child was taken away from him because of dallas police officers. then he opened fire before taking off in a van.

a police sniper shot the man inside his parked vehicle in a suburban restaurant parking lot after police tried unsuccessfully to negotiate a surrender. police say man's van contained pipe bombs and caught fire as a robot was trying to dispose of the explosives his name not yet released and no officers were injured in that attack. so now fire forces the evacuation of a high-rise apartment complex in cham montgomery county to, flames broke out inside one of the building that the towers at wyncote today,s "eyewitness news" cam video of the evacuation on limekiln pike as happening. the fire occurred on the 11th floor of the 12-story building. firefighters rescued a dog from that building. to it was backing as paramedics gave it oxygen, on an of the residents were injured exiting the building. >> i get out the bed. i go into the hallway and look down the fire exit and it's just a whole bunch of smoke, this time i run back in and gather my clothes, my back and come back out. trying to go down the 12th floor

. welcome back everyone day eight this massive hundred hr manhunt two convicted killers upstate new york, joyce mitchell is in police custody right now, accused of aiding and'daring prison escape, court documents now reveal she was the one who gave ridge mat and david sweat drill bits that help them break out of prison a week ago. the search continues for the suspects on a 50 acre property right near the prison.
