we are still dealing with flood advisers for parts of bucks county, the southern lehigh valley that's from those previous thunderstorms that dropped an inch to 2-inches of rape very quickly so some of smaller streams and creeks could be on the rise the next few hours. overnight again watch out for more showers possible thunderstorms could lead to strong damaging wind gusts but heff vo rainfall watch for ponding the road and frequent lightning much these showers and storms will continue into the start of the work week. we'll have more on that in the full forecast in a few more minutes. natasha, back to you. >> thank you very much, justin. a neighborhood in west philadelphia meantime is dealing with the aftermath of a massive water main break as millions of gallons of water turned roads into rivers and opened a gaping hole in the street. this happened here at the intersection of 52nd and west minster avenue. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers has more. >> reporter: water poured into the street and into cars, and homes just before dawn sunday. somewhere between eight to 10 million gallons flooded 52nd street startling those

asleep on the block much. >> it's crazy. i couldn't get my thoughts together when i woke up much it's crazy. i couldn't believe it. >> tiara simpson was asleep in her basement bedroom as the water poured she was forced out simpson one over dozen residents forceed to evacuate the water rose. >> i'm 64 years old and i ain't never seen nothing like this. >> reporter: no one was injured in the flooding as fire crews went door to door to make sure people were safe. immediate safety concerns taken care of, water department crews got to work shutting off the water around 8:00 a.m. it was too late to save this car car. >> i haven't really grasped it yet. i'm trying not to look it. >> taliya simpson owns that car. she got here from georgia on saturday. >> the engine was on. lights went out. my trunk went open. i have family pictures i was bringing from georgia and all of that is gone. >> reporter: the water around 9:00 a.m. the damage still very much there. there you can see how that hole

from this mornings water main break looks right now. crews out here say this portion of 52nd street to 500 block will remain closed until that hole can be patched up bike so many other water mains in the city of philadelphia, this particular pipe was very old and in fact it was laid by city crews all the way back in 1885. we're in west philadelphia, matt rivers, cbs3 "eyewitness news". also deadly floods sweep through the country georgia leaving 12 people dead and washing away enclose insures of a city zoo as well. the waters unleashed dangerous animals around the georgian capital. wolves bears big cats even a hippo. zoo officials say around 300 animals escaped and it's still not clear just how many may still be on the loose. georgia has mobilized its special forces and warned residents to stay indoors. a community in upstate new york remains on edge as two escaped prisoner romaine on the

loose. law enforcement officials are trying all kinds of things to search for these prisoners including the use of drones to scower the area. officials continue to focus on rural places around the prison. cbs news correspondent don champion has more from new york. >> reporter: hundreds of law enforcement officers searched from above and on the ground in upstate new york sunday for prison escapes david sweat and are you char matt. they've been on the run for more than week. motion detectors and cameras have also been set up in the search area. new york governor andrew cuomo says the men could be anywhere. >> we don't know if they are still in the immediate area or if they are in mexico by now. >> reporter: for residents who live in the rural area the heavy police presence is comforting yet unnerving. >> i've been around the area my whole life and nothing has ever been like this before. >> reporter: marne 800 state and federal officers are here on the ground working 12 hour shifts a day. some are positioned at

checkpoints like this. most are actively taking part in the search. the clinton county prosecutor says joyce mitchell was supposed to pick the two up at the power plant near the clinton correctional facility then drive them seven hours away. but they would not tell her the location. >> if an employee was facilitate facilitating or an accomplice to this escape they will be fully prosecuted. >> reporter: as people try to go on with their lives many can't help but wonder if danger is still lurking nearby. don champion cbs3 "eyewitness news". well philadelphia police meantime are investigate a deadly shooting in harrowgate. officers responded to the 1800 block of east thayer street around 4:00 o'clock this morning morning. they found a 22-year-old man face down on the road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. medic pronounceed him dead at the scene and investigators have not yet named a suspect in this case

case. also, a local animal rescue group has offered reward as they look for the person who torched a puppy and left her for dead in the philadelphia park. this video here was posted to facebook by little lowes promise a group out of south jersey. it shows the pup who they've named nanny taking her first steps since she was found in tacony park last tuesday. she's emaciateed very weak as you can see but she was much worse shape when she was brought to little lowes promise. the group has asked anyone who might know who owned this dog to please contact them or police right away. a minor accident near 95. it turned into a police chase early this evening. pennsylvania state police were in the area and followed the vehicle as it left the scene. the chase ended in the holmesburg second of the stow when the vehicle took a turn too fast. and crashed into a fence. the driver got out of the car and led police on a brief foot chase before he was stunned with a taser and taken into custody.

and several homes are damaged after a fire rips through a townhouse complex in the park wood section of northeast philly. "eyewitness news" at the 3500 block of woodhaven road about 4:00 o'clock today. officials say the fire started in nearby bush bushes. that's right still determining whether it was an accident or intentional. one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion. it's been 50 years since dozens of protesters marched to independence hall for gay rights and today it's a celebration of the progress made in lgbt acceptance. "eyewitness news" reporter steve patterson has more now from philadelphia's gay pride parade and festival. >> reporter: it may be loud, it may be colorful, it may be a times flamboyant but the philadelphia pride festival is more than just a party. it's a celebration of civil rights. >> we've come a long way. >> reporter: this year mark the 50th anniversary when dozens marked on independence mall for one of the first gay

domestic opening of all final. it made $204.6 million in the us. the movie spy finish distant second followed by san andreas insidious chapter three and pitch perfect two rounds out the top five. all right. justin, you're busy there tracking a stormy sunday night for us. >> yeah. catching a little break now but more showers and storms off to the west that. will come through overnight. you may get woken up overnight with rumbling across parts of the delaware valley and also impacting the start of the morning commute. and it certainly muggy outside right now. probably want to have the windows closed that. have air-conditioning running right now. we take a live look at the ben franklin bridge. still overcast skies. and we're keeping it dry right now in center city but off to the west, tracking another heavy cluster of some showers and thunderstorms check it out over southwestern pennsylvania a lot of lightning strikes now just south and east of pittsburgh this hour really running right along the turnpike so it will be rough travel headed west through

the overnight hours. all right. there you go. we're in the break right now. but give eight couple more hours. we'll get the rain in here and pockets of heavy rain a lot of humidity out there that's really helping to fuel these heavy downpours. now these are radar estimates of the rainfall. areas in darker green and yellow one to 2-inches of rain if you check it out oy cross southern lehigh valley and delaware those spots did see minor flooding in some of the smaller streams and creek. watch out for flood potential again in these spots if they see heavy rainfall overnight. be aware of that small streams and creeks the first to go and even a flash flood watch remains in effect for the poconos. temperatures this week, certainly on the warm side. final week of the spring season we're above average. we'll top off in the low 90s on tuesday much that's where we peak. average high is 83 but stays above average all week. we get a little break for the middle of the week wednesday and thursday. if you don't like the humidity just wait till wednesday. it's muggy outside right now very warm. low and mid 70s. and really no relief anywhere across the northeast and mid

atlantic. everybody sitting in that humid air mass and we look at the dew point temperatures. this a tropical air mass when you have these numbers in the 70s. if we're in the 50's that's when it's comfortable. not even close. that humidity stays high over the next couple of days. how is it going to feel? tomorrow, tuesday pretty much at the oppressive stage. wednesday that's the day where it actually feels pleasant. brief, though, about one day and we're back up to some humid conditions by the end of the week. warm front has moved on through. it's hot and humid once again for your monday. watch out for scattered afternoon showers and storms again. tuesday we start off dry. another front moves in from the west this will bring late day showers and storms very hot and humid high temperatures around 90 degrees maybe hotter than that and when you factor in the humidity it may feel like mid and upper 90s. wednesday the front will move on through. we get nice north wind coming out of canada that dries the air mass out pushing out the humidity. comfortable temperatures in the mid 80s. now tomorrow pretty much the entire delaware valley will be under a slight risk for severe

thunderstorms. that's the second risk level on the scale. the exception will be the immediate coastline watch out for heavy rain gusty winds 60 miles per hour and potential for small hail if some of these storms do develop. but here we go overnight 2am the clusters of showers and storms move on through and they may linger into the first half of the morning commute this is 6am especially east of the city tomorrow watch out for heavy rainfall into the afternoon spotty showers and thunderstorms start to pop up and then same deal again on tuesday as that cold front moves through. so it stays muggy overnight another round of showers and storms after midnight low of around 71 degrees for center city. hot and humid tomorrow partly sunny afternoon showers and storms up around 88 degrees for the high temperature. not much relief at the shore it will be breezy but temperatures in the lower 80s. watch out for late day scattered shower or thunderstorm. winds up around 20 miles an hour. here the extended forecast tuesday is the hottest day of the week. hot and humid 90 degrees. wednesday less humid 86 but stays warm through the end of the week again shower and storms
