storm scan3, you can see large scale system that's impacting the area, we had the heavy rain strong storms move through yesterday evening we track it this morning see the steadiest should be bypassing us tots south. we have to watch this area. >> this could come right across the philadelphia region later this morning so again the heaviest right now moving into northern delaware, you can see the yellow shading lightning, thunder southern new castle county over the board near maryland. so wilmington southward, where you will find the steadiest rain right now and again there is the lightning and thunder just little further to the south. so it will be active day. you can see future weather by 5:00 a.m. bridges the steadier rain in philadelphia, and it will just keep oncoming during the morning hours specially as we head toward 9:00 a.m. that moves out. may see few breaks of sun midday. that will will provide the fuel for another round of pop up storms, late this afternoon and evening. they are not everywhere. it is important to realize most of the day could be rain free. but when you get that storm, it will be locally heavy t could certainly slow you down. these storms then move out. tuesday starts with some sun

so it will be make things little slower as we move closer to rush hour, but right now not dealing with rush hour delays or volume, slick spots overall dampness. starting you here, right around the entrance of the schuylkill. earlier the eastbound side was closed between the schuylkill and broad street. as a result of construction, they have been switching directions each night too work on the construction between the schuylkill and broad street. so tomorrow most likely, they will be closing the westbound side. but we will continue to keep you updated on. that will for right now good to go. it does seem to be that they have reopened the eastbound side of the vine if you are coming from 76. but both sides of the vine right now at least you're good. actually another vantage point of the vine street expressway, right around the area of the schuylkill. so again notice the dampness on roadway water droplet. watch out this morning. that will slow you down. now, yesterday, we had the water main break on 52nd street between westminster avenue and

wyalusing avenue. as a result, still all lanes are block and 53 your best alternate. no major delays for mass transit. we head back to the desk. >> new this morning gunfire in philadelphia's logan neighborhood sends two men to the hospital. there is no word on what led to that shooting. it happened around 10:30 on the 4800 block of north carl aisle street. twenty-nine year old man is in critical condition. twenty year old man is in stable condition. so far there have been no arrests. a massive repair job is underway after a water main break in west philadelphia. the 36-hundred main burst sunday before sun ride on 52nd street near westminster avenue. we just heard vittoria mention, sent estimated eight to 10 million gallons of water rushing into the street. break flooded basement, cars, forced over dozen residents to leave their homes. >> yes, right in front of my home. i was actually asleep in the basement. i seen the water coming in the base. i woke up i look outside i seen my sister's car was

underwater. >> the philadelphia water department shut off the water around 8:00 yesterday morning. no one there was hurt. twelve people are dead this morning, in the former soviet country of georgia after heavy rain creates flooding, throughout the city of tabilisi. animals from the city zoo roamed the streets after their enclosures were wash away. inch is that puck tour of the ditty -- city was damaged hundreds homes destroyed say more than two boz end people are still missing. >> the employee who allegedly helped two convicted killer break out of up-state new york prison is due in court today. hundreds of law enforcement officers searched from above and on the ground for richard sweat and david sweat rather and richard mat. the manhunt now in its tent day. searches believe both men are still in the area, but new york governor cuomo says for anyone knows those convict could be in mexico by now. >> we don't know if they are still in the immediate area or

jeb bush joins extremely crowded race for president. and former president bill clinton will be in the philadelphia area this afternoon, right here in the city. he'll talk about the future of healthcare at the national american jewish history museum. it is an invitation only event, bringing together hundreds of health and science experts. naacp meeting scheduled for today in spokane washington has been postponed by the chapters embattled leader. rachel dolezal said she was postponed the meeting telling members the discussion needs to be continued first. rachel dolezal's parent say she has been falsely portraying herself as black for several years. this is not sit well with member johnson organizing peaceful demonstration scheduled for today. >> if i finds out that you have not bonn completely honest with me, and you lied just to get close to me, yes i feel betrayed. continue to sweep this all

of the rain, few rumbled every thunder there in southern new castle county, into kent county at the moment, this will eventually reach our shore points especially cape may county within the next hour or so. as we move forward we see temperatures warming up during the course of today 75 degrees, right now in philadelphia, 74 in wilmington, 73 in reading so it has been hot humid stretch. not really going to get much relief today even with the wet weather, doesn't keep us cool, just kind of warm, sticky, muggy outside through the afternoon hours. there is the warmfront we were talking about highs in the eight's, showers thunderstorms around, cold front follows it tomorrow. hot day. we will see some sun high near 90, again the chance for thunderstorms in the afternoon and these could be locally strong. that finally sweeps through. we get at least one day of lower humidity here on wednesday, with highs back in the 80s. so your forecast for today showers, storms, hot humid 89 degrees, tonight cloudy, shower or thunderstorm early at 73, and your eyewitness weather seven day forecast and "shorecast", hot again on tuesday, wednesday is your beautiful day of the week,

new this morning two people are in the hospital after a shooting in logan. it happened around 10:30 on the 4800 block of north carlisle street. so far police have made no arrests. a massive clean up underway this morning after a huge water main break near 52nd and westminster in west philadelphia yesterday morning. the 36-inch main burst and sent more than 12 million gallons of water gushing down the street, damaging cars, forcing evacuations. >> and joyce mitchell is due in court this morning. mitchell is the person tayloring shop instructor helping two killers escape

series became the highest global series of all time earning amazing $511.8 million in its first day in theatres. >> that's incredible. how about it? >> also, in the second highest domestic opening of all time it made 204.6 million in the u.s. the movie spy finished very distant second, followed by san andre as, insidious chapter three, pitch perfect two, rounds out the top five. >> a lot of numbers there. trafficking, we kick things off with vittoria. >> good morning, it will be a damp and wet probably wild commute as we get closer to rush hour. right now if you are traveling at 340 on the 30 bypass, dealing with downed tree, closing the westbound side, and only allowing at least one lane to get by on the eastbound side. it does seem that they have pick up the cones blocking one of the lanes. so still dealing with that westbound closure, on the 30 bypass, right at 340 so be minds full of the downed tree.

we'll continue to keep you update in the that area. if you are traveling in that area maybe lincoln highway would probably be your best bet to maneuver around it. as we continue, though, taking you elsewhere now moving through to the schuylkill expressway, at the entrance of the vine, earlier we had eastbound, the closure of the eastbound vine st. expressway, as a result of construction, between 76 and broad. they have pick up the cones so you are now free to access the vine street expressway. when you get there heading to and from 95, the schuylkill should not and problem. we still have the closure of 52nd street between westminster avenue and wyalusing avenue because of the water main break, still all lanes are block your best alternate is to take 53rd street traveling in and around that area. and, keep in mind, we do have a few trolleys that will be shuttle bussing, so do you want to keep this in check if you are planning to take any of these routes this morning. and really ongoing for quite some time. at least until saturday. kate weather wise, off to very rainy start? >> we are off to west start indeed unfortunately out

there, vet tore y pretty heavy showers moving through at the moment. we will keep that threat in the forecast, really, all day long, even into the day tomorrow. so, storm scan3 shows what we're dealing with this morning, heavy shower moving through innocent delaware, creeping into new jersey at the moment. mainly missing philadelphia to the south. but notice, that big complex of rain, lightning thunder over south central pennsylvania drifting over the turnpike, that could arrive here within the next couple of hours. so, the wettest part of the day will be your morning right about now through the next few hours and we get bit of lull in the action. notice down right around the kent, new castle county border right now in delaware, that's where seeing heavy rain, lightning, thinner with that, as women, now progressing into portions every cumberland and salem counties in south jersey. look at all of the lightning around smyrna at the moment a loft lightning waking you up perhaps this morning that's what you are feeling out there. here's future weather starting right about now, in the next five minutes or so, showing that rain starting to push in from the west, 6:00 a.m., same story now, by eight will the 9:00 we start to see that moving on out still few scattered showers, notice

south of philadelphia this morning, but we will all get in on the action before the morning is through. the worse part of the day will be the morning and then starting to dry out later this afternoon. but then this afternoon you have to watch for scattered locally strong thunderstorms. so, we take you right out again to storm scan three see one complex of rain, thunder lightning moving by to the south mainly across northern delaware, moving into south jersey. there is more rain back to the west, though that will eventually move through during the rest of this morning, so you can see all of the lightning right around smyrna at the moment, seeing some heavy rain moving into salem cumberland counseled counties in new jersey, then again waking to up lightning thunder, south of philadelphia, that's what you are seeing right now. so what do we expect as we go through the rest of the day? we have come more storms on the way we will continue to track them for you as we move through the morning and have the latest updates coming your way as we continue to deal with this heat and humidity. now we check in with vittoria. >> thank you and good morning, everyone, at least for right now not dealing with anything major in regard to volume situations.
