heavy fire coming from the back of the home. four adult residents were able to escape and officials say that is when they learn armada was still trapped inside. they raced in to rescue her. >> we attempted to enter the house, but when the floors collapsed underneath us, no fire fighters were injured, we were able to get out of the house, safely. and we were able to move back and go, in the defensive operation after the floors collapsed. >> those four residents were taken to the hospital, for non-life threatening injuries and the cause of that fire, remains under investigation. a pair of shark attacks in north carolina end with two teenagers losing limbs. the attacks happened just 90 minutes apart on the same stretch of beach and today we're hearing 911 calls for help. correspondent, jidith craig has that story. >> reporter: this 13 year-old girl seen here lost part of her left arm and bitten on her left leg, a shark attacked her in waist deep water 20-yard

sweat and richard matt is in the tenth day. the family of the man fatally shot by philadelphia police last year is calling on the cities top prosecutor to reopen an investigation into that case. "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson is live at police headquarters this afternoon to explain steve. >> reporter: jessica, today family of the brandon tait-brown made several demand and requests for philadelphia's top law enforcement officials. we have brought those demand to both district attorney and philadelphia police commissioner and for the most part those demand were answered but the attorney for the tait-brown family says these were not the answers that the family was looking for. >> accountability, accountability accountability. >> reporter: a mother's demand. >> on behalf of this family i formally call for the district attorney seth williams to reopen his criminal investigation into this incident. >> reporter: through their attorney family of 26 year-old brandon tait-brown called on

philadelphia's top law enforcement officials. >> how many lives need to be told until we don't believe any of it. >> reporter: in december tait-brown was pulled over by two philadelphia police officers in frankford the officers initially reported a struggle and said they feared for their lives when they thought tait brown was lunging for a gun in the car after a criminal investigation district attorney seth williams cleared officers of wrongdoing but since then the official account has changed philadelphia police new say tait brown wasn't reaching for a gun when he was shot in the back of the head ape killed but he was resisting and still moving around the the side of the car which did contain a gun. >> it doesn't change one very basic thing and that is that the individual had a gun in the car, the witness essay there was a struggle, and he made an attempt to get back to that car. >> reporter: philadelphia police commissioner charles ramsey says his officers were in danger and made a tough call. >> people are asking questions and they should ask questions

pretty busy here eighth street, ninth street, no weather issues down the shore right now storm scan three we have showers popping up. you can see this area of rain right here through lehigh valley moving through north jersey and central new jersey and bow echo an indication on the radar when you see this bulge in the south of the hageers town that there could be some wind damage there. as we zoom in you'll see they are few and far between in our region, this is moving, west and east ton and moving toward south of who will an and northern part of the bucks county noxamixon so thinks an area we will be watching. also through south jersey we have one cell intense with heavy rain and it is not really that wide. just a couple miles heavy rain in collins lake. here's three to two this is 73 on the way to the beach and folsom. thinks northeastern part of the atlantic count soy heavy rain. these will be fast moving downpours and they will be small, so they will be highly localized. right now in philadelphia 88. same in trenton.

tractor trailer is under investigation in salem county. chopper three over route 5450 near coal line road in quinton township. police say this truck left the roadway at 6:30 this morning and crash in the pole before coming to a rest on its side. and, the driver was killed, route 540 was closed for several hours as police investigated and it is back opened tonight. police are searching for suspect in the stabbing at a frankford corner store a 60 year-old man was stabbed several times in joe's deli on the 3100 block of frankford avenue around 10:20 this morning. we are told that rick tim is in stable condition at temple university hospital and an investigators say this could have been a robbery attempt. attempted robbery in philadelphia is caught on surveillance cameras. thins dent took place friday at olney check cashing on north front street. police say this suspect entered and began asking some questions. he then left, and came back, and ordered an employee toward the cashier who was behind glass with the fake handgun pointed in to her back.

cashier refused to let the suspect behind the counter and he fled, with no money. police are searching for this man he broke into mrs. kay's coffee shop in olde city, they took one cash register drawer and put it into his car. but he had trouble removing a second drawer. he grabbed the register, shoved it, kicked it but could not get it to budge. that suspect ended uptaking off with only one of the drawers. some thieves in detroit went above and beyond in their efforts, they broke in through the roof of this metro p.c. s store, one suspect filled the bag with phones and then handed it to an accomplice and then you can see gasoline being poured through a hole in the roof. they set the store on fire, causing about $10,000 in damage. one thing to come in and steel, and then take stuff and other thing when you set a building on fire. >> the owner does hope to rebuild and is offering a reward for help in arresting those suspects.

rescue crews in the former soviet country of georgia are searching for dangerous animals right now cbs news correspondent tina krause shows us how animals escaped from the zoo during deadly floods this weekend police locked down georgia's capitol city as rescue crews hunt for dangerous animals to escaped when flood waters hit. >> the zoo director says many people reported seeing wild animals roaming the city. this hippo wandered around in one of the main squares on sunday after flash floods destroyed its cage. authorities, shot the hippo with a tranquilizer dart and led it away. lions, jaguars and bears are still on the loose helicopters are warning the people to stay indoors. this bear took refuge on a second story air conditioning unit. at least 300 animals have died many drawned, including monkeys and penguins. heavy rain triggered the flood

bigger weather headlines is the heat, it will be steamy as temperatures are about to climb yet again. good evening i'm jessica dean, chris may as the evening off. the sweltering heat awaits us as well as chances of more storms. the philadelphia school district is already taking action tomorrow, all public schools in the city will dismiss early at noon, and in anticipation of the heat. we will go to meteorologist kathy orr tracking both chance of storms tonight plus all of the hot weather kathy. >> we have had drenching downpours out there but we are just seeing a few and we will have a few more in the evening. lehigh valley, poconos into parts of the bucks county, noxamixon and all this moving east and also through area of south jersey and delaware we are keeping an eye there as well because of storms in baltimore and washington, these continue to attract toward the east. phillies are playing in baltimore this evening, they could have a rain delay or the field could be wet at the start because of the rain, that is about to fall there.
