>> good morning, it was just a heartless crime. that swan on the mends now after being burned by chemicals in a local park. now, that bird's about to return home today. we're there live as the swan goes back into the wild. great to see it's recovered. >> first, a quick shot at the hot and humid day ahead. storm scan3 there showing more storms on the horizon no break. >> katie is already tracking these storms and the rising temperature from the weather center. already sweltering out there this morning. >> perfect descriptive word to describe it. >> thank you. >> all right. off to steamy start. you said it, diane a just because there is so much moisture to work with in this atmosphere, so it is hot call it very warm, muggy right now. but will be very hot as the day progresses. and we are starting the morning off with quite a bit of fog out there. we start things offer by

taking you down to one. area shore point. it wasn't too bad. even just in the last ten minute, ocean city seems like just commonly fogged over, this particular camera view, on "skycam 3", so, the wind has obviously eased up at the sharp, you need, that that's one key ingredient to see that low-lying cloud cover settle in. but in addition, you're not finding it just at the shore point, it is socking in you across good chunk of the delaware valley. so we go next to storm scan3 what you usually have hard time detecting on radar or satellite, is the fog. you know that's one thing that's very difficult to pick out. but you can obviously see there are some showers, in fact, i zoom it out to one time for you here. there are showers thunderstorms, on the horizon now specially notable across northwestern p a and ohio that front needs to cross through in order for us to break the heat and humidity at least for a day of course it isn't going to lead to the finest of health report. air quality even on day like this still pretty good.

generally had enough wet weather lately i think to keep the air clean. but the pollen levels are going to start to climb a bit here. the uv index is very high, once we see the sun come up, and break apart the fog. and you also have to be awfully careful with the heat index value. could climb between 95 and 100 today, no heat advisory in effect but it will be a very steamy day eventually showers, storms, are set to rumble in. >> we have to look forward to wednesday, i guess? >> there go. >> yes. good morning everyone, well, right now you can look forward to traffic not seeing too much after problem. i would say that it is definitely still too early for rush hour. we're still i would say maybe about 20 minute or so away. because, 42 freeway looks really free and easy. if you are traveling in either direction, right around the area of creek road, there are no delays, no problems, rush hour development pretty non-existent at the time if you are traveling northbound where we tend to see traffic. not really at this hour, but more so around 6:00 and 6:15. definitely few more headlights seeing out there. but, still no delays really

traveling on the new jersey majors. same thing goes on 9a this is 95 right around cottman avenue. northbound and southbound moving real wellment take a look how you still have some of the fog out there. that fog is still affecting the betsy ross bridge. they have still implemented speed restrictions of 35 miles per hour, and i would say generally speaking on any of our bridges just be careful out there. we also still have the water main break from few days ago still closing 52nd street so probably good idea to use the alternate. >> thanks, vet tore y investigators trying to pinpoint what sparked a three alarm fire that damaged a historic building in west chester. firefighters got the call just before 9:30 last night, flames out the corner of north church and west market street. a local historian tells "eyewitness news", that the builds something over 150 years old. it houses a bank's offices and branch. >> very upsetting, a put a lot of monday my this building, symbol for the area, and

europe over greece's debt yesterday, the dow fell 107-point. nasdaq down 21. goldman sachs is gone from wall street to main street. the investment bank creating new consumer lending aoun lit offer loans to ordinary americans, through a website or mobile app. it is a big change for goldman's business model which focused on high net worth clients. >> derrick jeter's new media company just raised about $10 million. the former yankees shortstop started a website called the players tribune t publishes stories directly from athlete. so this new money will help ramp up content features, and videos. and chipotle on mission to make the perfect tore till a chipotle goes through about 800,000 tortillas a day so the goal to find a recipe that could be mass produced, but taste homemade. so right now, there is a lab experimenting with a recipe that has four ingredient, whole wheat flower flour, oil sauce, keeping it simple? good goal, too.

>> a swan suffered vicious attack in a county parking released back into the wilds this morning. >> somewhat the swan found last months suffering from chemical burns on its head. jan carabeo live at par vin state park this morning where the swan will be released. good morning jan. >> reporter: diane, a erika good morning there is has been very long road to recovery for this swan. it was found close to death here, not too long ago but after weeks of recovery, and rehabilitation, it is finally back on its feet and well enough as you mentioned to being released back into the wilds. little later on today. take a good look at this video. you may remember, just what bad of shape this swan was in, not too long ago, and this video was taken in early may

after the birds was found near death here at par vin state park in pit grove township salem county. animal control picked up the dehydrated and unresponsive swan from the park that day and got it help. the swan was suffering from what appeared to be chemical burns, all over its head. now, the veterinarian caring for the animal told "eyewitness news" that it looked like someone had poured something or throw something at the animal. now, for weeks wildlife rehabilitation experts have been nursing it back to health. it is finally back on it feet. no word yet who may be responsible for this, or how the bird was injured, to begin with. we hope to get up a data little later on today. again, when that bird is released back into the wild. but for now we are reporting live in salem county, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> great to hear it is doing well jan thank up. two teenagers are recovering after being bitten by sharks at the same beach. those two attacks happened within 90 minutes of each other at north carolina beach on sunday. the 13 year old girl and 16

year old boy both lost part of their arms. officials are now trying to figure out if the same shark attack both teens. >> now, those attacks had people at the shore worried about shark sitings. they aren't rare in our area, but they do happen. "eyewitness news" new jersey reporter, cleve bryan, spoke with shark experts about what we can expect this summer. >> i'm highly concerned. >> some jersey shore beach-goers are little worried about going in the water after learning of multiple shark attacks in north carolina. >> the waters here are quite dark dirty and you can't really see what's out there. definately freaks you out, makes you nervous to go in the water, but that's why i like to stay in the water where a lot of people are. >> in ventnor, shark siting or two in summer normal. but captain bill howard said it doesn't usually amount to any harm. he said about every beach patrol expects them to have an eye out and have protocols. >> any shark siting at a certain beach, that beach automatically just blows their whistles and tells the people to come in, you know, you don't go crazy, just tell them

to come in out of the water. we notify the other beaches just to keep an eye out. >> according to leading researchers at the university of florida, they are typically about 30, 50 shark attacks in the u.s. each year. on average fewer than one turns out to be fatal. put that in perspective. say about 75 times more likely to be struck by lightning than killed by a shark. more people hurt sharks than is that correct hurt people. >> overseeing the ac aquarium, wake owes, blue sharks common off the jersey sharp but aren't look to go eat people. >> they call it bite and bolt. shark grabs a human thinks it is a fish or seal, realizes it is not what they want to eat and let go. >> sharks most common as the ocean warms up, best bet to avoid a bite is staying out of the water around and after sunset, when thermos active. in ventnor, cleve bryan cbs-3, "eyewitness news". good advice. right now coming up on 5:43, we check in with katie and the tropics. >> we are going to check in with the tropics here. we do actually have another tropical storm system now bill continues to brew, over the gulf of mexico, than is

going to be a storm that eventually makes a bee line right into the state of texas. a spot that absolutely does not need any wet weather at this point. they've busted their drought with all of the recent rain, if only we could translate this moisture out to the west coast, then we would be fine. but, just not the way it works unfortunately. now, here is the thing. as this storm system recur of the and essentially gets caught up with the main flow of west to east across the united states, we will eventually get in on the moisture associated with the storm. time something everything. it looks like it could commas early as saturday day but the jury still out on that one put it that way. meanwhile, storm scan3 not heck of a lot of moisture but a lot off to the west, not visible on radar. when i say lack of moisture i mean strictly you don't have much rain out there. that's absolutely going to be changing later. you certainly have plenty of moisture to work with here as reported by our eyewitness weather watcher. so i want to take you out to kim of locations here, finding the dew point awfully high.

69 degrees sent in to us from john jenkins the fog settling in from perkasie, nice light winds, lot of moisture, saying isn't it a little warm to be order egg up pea soup? i hear you. absolutely very soupy outside. we take you to another observation. 71 degrees coming into us with the fog from lynn, in cherry hill, and she's got dew point of 69. you're only 2 degrees away from each other with the measurement, then, in other words, this air mass is essentially just totally saturated. one more spot for up. sixty-seven coming into us from mark. he actually has little hint of sunlight out in chads worth. go back to the eyewitness weather seven day forecast here, where temperatures are still very toasty today. expect to go see some showers and thunderstorms primarily afternoon, early evening and then you will cut you a break on the humidity, at least for one day tomorrow, looks pretty fabulous by comparison. vittoria? >> thank you so much katie. good morning everyone, if you are traveling out and about right now, you will in the on the schuylkill expressway, not too far away from the area of

king of prussia that eastbound and westbound commute something not a problem. westbound being your tail light here, eastbound being your headlight. as we seymour vehicles, crowd the roadway we are going to feel little bit of rush hour start to form, but i would say at least still right now pretty light. ninety-five, around girard, maybe one culprit spot. generally speaking that's about it. ninety-five elsewhere as we take beautiful birds eye view of things, right over 452, you will notice that both northbound and southbound commuting really moving great. it is hazy. it does seem to be, looks like the sun trying to come out but anyway the fog is out there. still, traveling on the betsy ross bridge, we have speed restrictions of 35 miles per hour because of the fog. we will let you know when they up lift those. if you are traveling, however, in pa, new jersey, delaware, i mean, our speed censors nice and hyatt 55 where they should be again slight slow down on 95 southbound around girard, usually where the rush hour start. and if you are traveling, in new jersey, on the northbound side of the new jersey turnpike at james berg, overturned tractor-trailer which is blocking two right lanes. so anticipate delays here.

under control, in about a half hour or so, there are no report of injuries. >> deadly car crash route 322 west goshen. a car crashed into a bridge, then burst into flames near pen drive around 12:30 this morning. the victim's name has not been released. >> displacing resident after three alular fire tore through the upper floors after building in west chester last night. there are no report of injuries, and the cause of that fire is still under investigation. later today, philadelphia officials will give us an update on transportation plans, for the september visit by pope francis. delegation heads to the vatican next week. our jessica dean will bring us live reports from that trip. that's starting on monday. >> right now though, we want to gave you a look at some of the devastating flood that hit texas last month. a restaurant in austin just released this surveillance video. check it out. see what's happening? shows water rushing bursting through the doors. it then swirls around the tables, and chairs, moving
