amy, stormy, stretch continues tonight and storm scan three is tracking pop up showers, and thunderstorms all across the region but once these move out changes will move in and we think you will a's like them. good evening thanks for being with us, i'm chris may. i'm jessica dean. lets get out to meteorologist kathy orr. it has been a busy day in the weather center. we have a lot of element working to day. >> we do we have a lot of instability in the atmosphere ahead of the cold front heat and humidity the atmosphere is prime, like a sponge, so when that front comes through it will ring itself out. any storms, or showers are going to come down pretty hard. drenching rain expect. take a look at storm scan three you can see the line that we're talking about that is forming through lehigh valley and heading in our northern/northern suburbs and there are a few spotty downpours out there, one in montgomery county as we zoom in, we can see this one with heavy rain, and that is moving toward the south east, along 276, and also, in wyndmoor a

heavy shower moving closer to the city and in south jersey near union mill road in burlington county, new jersey, vincentown, heavy rain. so these spotty, storms, and downpours will be coming down as well, but a line, a little bit later this evening. storm reports in estelle manor, upper township, trees and wires down, atlantic city ocean city high wind gusts due to severe cell from earlier this afternoon. so for the rest of the afternoon into the evening those scattered thunderstorms and thunder showers some downpours, poor drainage flooding where we do see heavy rain and gusty wind. through this evening temperatures will stay quite warm here's what it feels like. it feels like 100 in millville, 97 in dover. temperatures will fall through 80's this evening and feels like reading will fall from 91 at 7:00 p.m. to 87 at 9:00 to 84 at 11:00. then we will watch tropical storm bill and its remnants which could impact our weather

this weekend. more on that coming up later in the broadcast. >> we will see you then. it certainly was in the a good day for air conditioning to stop working. atlantic city closed public safety building after experiencing issues with the cooling and ventilation systems there. chopper three over the building on the 2700 block of atlantic avenue. that building houses the police station and municipal court. police are still on call responding to emergencies as crews make repairs and the building is expect to reopen tomorrow. new at 6:00 o'clock tonight fighting crime with science. authorities have a new unique tool to track down stolen valuables. cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thank you very much, cleve. suspect made off with prescription drugs in this robbery of the haddonfield rite aide. reportedly pulled a gun inside the store on haddon avenue knew and ran in the parking lot where he carjack a bystander. that suspect then abandoned the car and ran off on foot. the suspect is described as a white male, 6-foot two and weighs 200-pound. three suspects in the broomall home invasion are in police custody tonight jermaine wallace and his brother, sterling, appeared in court this afternoon. the third suspect is a juvenile a fourth is on the run. police say that those four broke into a home on old cedar grove road, pistol whipped a teenager and then raided the family's safe. officers believed those homeowners were targeted, they own a business in upper darby. if you plan to be in philadelphia for the papal vice it this fall organizers say you should prior to do a lot of walking.

"eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry is live at southwest detectives with an update on this case, syma? >> reporter: chris police say they have never seen a string of cab thefts like this one and now they are concerned for the public safety. this man may look like a cabdriver but police are calling him a craft i thief southwest detectives, say that he is responsible for a string of cab thefts that started last sunday. >> it is just bizarre. we have had five cabs stolen.

we have ten cabs stole men nine days. thinks first time this has happened. >> reporter: also stolen vehicles are 2007 through 2009 ford crown victorias that were once used as police cars. >> with the use of keys overtime, the dishes get warn out. so any key of a ford product will work in any ignition. >> reporter: six of the cabs had to second 15 get a cab logo or suspect or suspects seemed to necessity in and out of the cabs. >> they have been disable shortly after the theft and parking authority is monitoring that for us. >> reporter: in the video the thief pulls out of the parking spot and does in the stop at this stop sign but police believe he is doing more than just violating traffic rules. just last week police responded to a shooting at palm and ogden street in west philadelphia police say the suspect was a passenger in a cab. early monday morning a stolen taxi was used in a robbery on the 4,000 block of west minister avenue. >> you don't pay a attention to cabs there to transport people not realizing is there actors in that car that can

hurt or harm you. >> reporter: so far five of the ten stolen cabs have have been recovered. police are word i the man will be a actual cabdriver and pick up unsuspecting cabdrivers. >> the public is clearly at risk at this point. >> reporter: police urge the public to check two forms of id when getting inside a cab one form of id is rear facing card and a driver's certificate. right now police are not sure if this man is act ago loan, with stealing cabs or other suspects involved. if you have any information you are asked to contact the police. we are live outside southwest detectives syma chowdhry for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> same, thanks very much. an investigation is underway in the cause of the fire that damaged a three story building in downtown west chester. it took more than 140 fire fighters to battle that three alarm blaze that happened at ten north church street building last night. it housed dnb bank in the first floor and apartments on the upper levels. we are told no one was hurt in that fire.

kathy, the humidity, thick air is something else. >> it felt like summer good how about that. >> summer begins on sunday. we have had one hot june, so far and it doesn't look like it will change. we have had some spotty showers and thunderstorms but a line is forming with our cold front main events once we get that past us, it will be much more comfortable. take a look outside, a cruise from our go pro cam here in cbs-3 studios looking at center city sky line with blue peak nothing between those cloud. down the shore we had a heavy thrust of rain, earlier today with the severe then are storms that has moved well off shore and new we are looking at some sunny conditions but still balmy and sticky, down the shore as well. on storm scan three you can see this line of showers and heavy downpours forming. this is our frontal boundary. this is moving quickly toward south east so you can see bucks county, montgomery county getting in on this. new jersey side as well, but our immediate future shows a

storm, downpour, fairly close to the city of philadelphia, this is west manayunk. you can see along 23, montgomery avenue, merion along the main line, route 30, east falls 76, kelly drive so this is fairly large and this system has heavy rain associated witt. when you zoo he that red color we are talking about high rain rates associated with this particular cell. not a lot of lightening but we are just seeing heavy rain. a as we widen out you can see through south jersey scattered showers, lighter rain right here through burlington county and heavy cell, lets zoom in here, to see parts of the bucks and montgomery county where we have had pockets of heavy rain. this is part of the line moving through with our front. steady heavy rain in tinicum township, through bedminster, rich land, hyman moving toward south east and buckingham and places like ivy land and richboro if you see skies getting dark you know heavier rain is moving your way. today's high impressive.
