deliver, summer weekend looms ahead with fathers day and start of the summer on sunday, we do have some rain to track and heavy rain at that. in fact, even this evening we are seeing a few thunderstorms popping up on storm scan three. not everyone getting them but they have heavy localized downpours associated with them this one moving over northeast area right through bensalem, cheltenham wissonoming and route one and now crossing i-95. heavy downpours with that particular cell. anything that pops up this afternoon or this evening there will be quick hitting but they have heavy rainfall, associated with them. you can see a few heading down for delaware as well. let's look at is what left of bill, still a tropical depression, this thing has held on to circulation as you can see circulation with that system as it moves into portions of southern illinois. this is going to really move across northeast into the weekend and get here by late saturday night into sunday. that is when a flood watch will go in effect for the entire region and will start late saturday evening and

"eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan spoke to that man today and joins us with the utilities authorities in egg harbor township, cleve? >> reporter: chris, egg harbor town hip police say they are just getting started with this investigation, the atlantic county utility authority known bit since june 3rd but just reported it yesterday. the employee who saw that noose says he is hurt by what he has been found and how it has been handled. scott henry says he has been worried about his life after discovering a noose in his work truck two weeks ago. he was about to start his shift picking up trash for atlantic county utility authority and there was the noose over his passenger seat. >> i felt threaten, immediately i felt like someone targeting me black guy that goes open up the truck and i see a noos there. that is serious business. >> reporter: right away utilities authority launched an internal investigation but did not call local police y didn't the utility authority call the police right away. >> because at first it wasn't seen as a hate crime scott

henry didn't identify it as a hate crime at that time. it was an unfortunate incident that appalled us, and we were going to follow-up and get information. >> reporter: frustrated at his boss's lack of answers and peering for his own safety he called his representative on the county freeholder board earn is coursey. >> it is an issue that need to be taken very, very seriously. something you just cannot sweep under the rug. certainly with what just happened in south carolina two days ago. >> reporter: atlantic county lead's greed and urged the utilities authority to file a police report. egg harbor township police started an investigation but henry says regardless, he is thinking of finding a new job. >> this is a hostile work environment and i didn't think anything was funny about the situation and everybody was down playing it and i'm really hurt that it worked out like that. >> reporter: scott henry tells me he will now take off for six to ten weeks because he is feeling, so much pressure and anxiety. reporting live from egg harbor township, cleve bryan cbs-3

"eyewitness news". >> cleve, thank you. man is recovering after being shocked by down wires in south philadelphia. chopper three over that scene on the 200 block of fitzwater street. crews responded around 11:30 this morning unclear just how wires came down. the 29 year-old victim was taken to presbyterian hospital but no word on his condition. flames shoot through roof of the home in the 5600 block of boyd street in germantown. "eyewitness news" on that scene after 1:00 a.m. as fire fighters tried to stop the fire. they had a tough time because house was boarded up, from the inside. there have been earlier reports of a person trapped on the second floor but fire fighters cleared the scene no one was inside and in one was hurt. clean up and repairs of the ruptured water main in nicetown could leave businesses closed for several days. crews are using a network of dehumidifiers to dry out the baker center plaza tonight. officials believe about 7 million gallons of water rushed into that center's parking lot and stores on thursday. water main break right there

roberts died last night of natural causes. well, street closures will make it tougher to get around center city tomorrow morning. streets near the old pnb building will be closed so that helicopter can remove an old air conditioning june from it atop one south broad street. crews will also install a support system for a new ac unit there. lets look the at maps. streets from 11th to 16th street, near market will be closed up from 6:00 in the morning until 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon, so it could be a problem. give yourself plenty of time to get around if you plan to be in that area tomorrow. could be a mess. >> could be. coming up on cbs-3 "eyewitness news" a frightening day on the job for pennsylvania construction workers when a bridge they were standing on collapsed. then they are married with three kid but for one new jersey couple they crossed paths, 16 years before they met. we will tell you what an old family video has now revealed about their past.

a portion of the bridge under construction in central pennsylvania collapses injuring three workers. this happened yesterday, in ridgeway, el k county. surveillance cameras captured the moment half of the ten three-year old bridge came tumbling down. authorities say a worker underneath suffered the most serious injuries and the cause of that collapse is now under

investigation. twenty-two people, were hurt when a cruise ship crashed into a wall in upstate, new york. toronto bound ship was entering a lock on the st. lawrence sea way when it hit a concrete barrier. authorities say 19 passengers and three crew members were treated at a hospital for minor injuries. it is still unclear if the ship will be able to complete its journey. volcanic eruption in indonesia send hot ash pouring down side of the the mountain. authorities are closely monitoring this volcano which has been more active then usual in recent days. it had been dormant for more than four hundred years before activity resume in 2010. despite some warnings that the volcano could blow at any moment villagers that lived nearby have refused to leave their homes. still ahead on "eyewitness news" an old family video with the revealing secrets. a new jersey couple find out they are crossed paths 16 years before they met again. we will hear their story. also, we have heard of

the couple return to the scene of that chance encounter it happened at sesame place when they were both little kid. so in 1988 they have home video, here it is, do you see boy in the glass that he is walks in front of the camera right there. well, that is jordan's future husband ryan, then age 13. both of their families were at water park at the same time. how about that. jordan now tells a different story when they asked her where she met her husband. >> i tell them that i officially met my husband on a blind date in 2004 but we crossed paths in 1988 at sesame place. >> isn't that crazy. >> wow. >> after finding out about the chance meeting sesame place offered to host couple and their children for two days, that is pretty great. they are taking plenty of video on their kids on this trip because well, you never know. >> you never know, that is right. >> couple decades we may be saying the same thing. >> magical things happen at sesame place. >> would i say that because we both grew up going to the

>> reporter: when bernadette daniels was driving near 20th and diamond sunday afternoon she saw two children struggling to carry their laundry to a laundromat. >> it was heavy they were actually carrying it. it is in the like they had a push cart or laundry inside of bags. it was inside a hamper. >> reporter: she wasn't the only would one that noticed. officer sammy britain pulled over and that is when she handed her phone to her daughter and told her to start recording. >> he told the kid to go ahead and walk. >> reporter: the officer dropped off the clothes laundromat. owner didn't want to speak on camera and said he doesn't know the children but he has seen them before. she posted video on line on wednesday and it quickly went viral. >> all cops are not mean and nasty. that was so nice. >> reporter: bernice says video is a remind their officers are here to help. >> did he something i wanted to do. i wanted to help those kid. i'm thankful he did it. i'm a stranger. i'm a stranger. if i walk up to the children they would have ran and left laundry there.

well not so sweet deal for some hershey workers, the company is cutting about 300 jobs, by the end of the year. to save money and streamline operations. hershey has about 13,000 employees, worldwide and it owns the reese's and twist letter brand as well. region's new cheese cake factory is preparing for its grand opening in center city. these ships were a sight to sees june 1928, fleet of tall ships sailed into philadelphia people from around the area along with thousands of visitors crowded the banks of the delaware to catch a glimpse of the vessels docked at penns landing. boats were on hand to celebrate the city's 300 birthday and of course, tall ships will be back in the area next weekend. we will be right back.

with the official start of the summer a few days away peco is stepping into help seniors keep cool. "eyewitness news" at center park in germantown, peco handed out a hundred free fans to people there, and also made stops at other senior centers a across the region. give away included information about peco's low income programs and energy saving tips, for the summer. swimming, also a really good way to keep cool in the summer. >> that is why so many are excited because first philadelphia, public pools are opening up. meteorologist carol erickson joins us live from north philadelphia with the cbs-3 mobile weather lab hi carol. >> reporter: it is cool, and pools opened today. i think that says summer like nothing else. it was a shortened first day

that is why pool is closed, they have kick everybody out at 5:00 but they were here this afternoon and loving it. look at the temperature on the mobile weather lab. 86 degrees. we happen to be here when the kid and one very buff, adult you might recognize. normally in a suit, d.a. seth williams jumped in the pool. take a look. they are in there and there they go, after a three two one they are in the water and this is first time these pools have been opened all season. today four opened one in each section of the city. starting on monday rest of the 66 other pools will be opening up on a staggered basis. by july 1st all of the pools in the city will be opened. this is just a perfect way for these kids to spend the summer. as city officials say for a lot of these kids, this is their summer vacation. they come to the park, they swim or at the recreation center on 33rd street and they can get swim lessons and do

all sorts of things, practice their cannon ball, all you need is a swimsuit, they don't want people grabbing them by their t-shirts and throwing them around. speaking of safety, remember last year very end of the season, we had a shocking incident in one of the pools. well, because of that they check all 70 pools and electrical systems have been upgraded in every single one of them. some it was absolutely great. still great. i had to drag a couple kid out of the pool to talk to him lets take a listen. >> it is excited to be in the cold water. >> it is fun cool. >> i am mad that we did have to wait until 2:00. >> i'm hat and the pool is cold. >> reporter: that will feel good. >> um-hmm, it sure will. >> reporter: it sure will. pools are generally opened seven days a week machine through friday, 11 to 7:00 and weekend noon to five. they have cam presidents and that sort of things.
