about a hot week at least good part of it coming up, nicole. >> carol, thank you. new this morning a fightin side of an olney bar turns deadly, one bar patron is dead and security guard is now in police custody. this incident took place overnight at old madrid baron 5200 north fifth street. police say a customer got in the fight with the security guard there and then they said that guard shot the man after he took a swing at him. homicide detectives are securing security video and they are questioning that security guard. a bar was the scene of another deadly overnight shooting in strawberry mansion. now shortly before 2:00 a.m. police say a man and a woman had an altercation inside johnny ace bar at 29th and lehigh. police say someone inside the bar shot him in the chest. homicide detectives are questioning several people, but no one in custody at this point. a west philadelphia block party turns into chaos as gunman opens fire on a crowd striking ten people including two children and a 18

month-old toddler. alexandria hoff is live in southwest philadelphia this morning with the very latest, alex. >> reporter: nicole, we have a bit of good news. we do know that all ten victims are now in stable condition but police have just told me that they are still looking for this suspect. according to investigators it was just before 10:00 p.m. when an block party, 4100 block of ogden was interrupted by gunfire. police say an unknown male turn on the street and fired multiple shots in the crowd with a shotgun. one of those hitting a 18 month-old in the neck. >> it a appears that everybody here, was here for the picnic and they just randomly fired down the street and hit whoever was in the way which is a terrible situation. >> reporter: long with looking for a suspect police are looking for an exact motive although they do say it could have something to do with a ongoing feud between two groups one of which lives on that block. again all ten victims are in stable condition.

reporting live from southwest detectives alexandria hoff for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> all right alexandria, thank you. members of the emmanuel ame church in south carolina will the georgia are for their weekly sunday worship this happened days after gunman shot and killed nine members of the congregation. this is a live look at scene. bells will toll nine times during that service in honor of those lost in the tragedy. a all this as investigators try to confirmed if the manifesto uncovered on line was written wyatt ledge gunman. craig boswem has the very latest on this investigation. >> ♪ >> reporter: some came to sing others placed flowers outside of the emmanuel ame church in charleston on saturday. eva gallagher had to be her her sister 87 year-old susan jackson, was the oldest of the nine victims killed during the church massacre wednesday night. >> we will all miss her. >> reporter: for hundreds of people passing by here it was a chance to begin the healing process. >> what he tried to do, to

start an incident, all did he was bring us closer together. >> reporter: twenty-one year-old dylann roof faces nine counts of murder and a weapon chance. authorities are trying to confirm if the manifesto written by roof. in it the author said he was truly awakened by the trayvon martin case and obvious that zimmerman was in the right. more than 2400 word rant details hatred toward blacks, hispanics and jews and author chose charleston because at one time it had highest ratio of blacks to white in the country among the 60 pictures of the site, photos of the roof holding a gun sitting with slave era man convince and burning the american flag. parishioners will file past this memorial on the way to the oldest black church in the south for sunday services to say prayers for those taken way too soon. craig boswell for cb is s3 "eyewitness news". well, connections to the south carolina victims extend far beyond that states borders. mourning the loss of a very close friend. >> reporter: twenty-five years of friendship, taken away by one person , in one moment. >> this is just an absolute sweetheart of the person. >> reporter: artist colin quashi said he lost a near life long friend, 54 year-old liberian cynthia hurd, one of the nine victims murdered after a attending a prayer group at emmanuel ame church in charlton. >> i was getting ready to call her. i was driving by her house. those little things, i need to call cynthia when i get back, you know what i mean. i was just absolutely shocked when i saw that. >> reporter: quashi says he was working on a project with hurd at a local library right before the shooting. they collaborated often. he said proximity of it all hits home. >> the church is literally a mile from high house yes pass by there every day. i work six blocks from the church. >> reporter: mourning has been difficult, instead of being in town, quashi was already heading here the artist

premiering a new gallery this weekend at the african-american museum in philadelphia coincidently, and perhaps even fortuitously the work is a bying satire in commentary on american slavery and modern race relations. >> to offer people a way of looking at things from a different perspective. >> reporter: his thoughts on the current conversation about race just as bying. >> i already know what i will say and other minorities will say. it is time for white people and white america to step up to the plate. instead of looking at it always from the inside out you have to step up and have that conversation. >> reporter: for now quashi has been focused on mourning. >> i'm just looking forward to going back and reconnecting and paying my respects, you know what i mean and grieving along with the rest of the city. >> reporter: in olde city, steve paterson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". meanwhile in pottstown members of the many faiths gathered at a prayer vigil for victims of the south carolina rampage. they have assembled at a local synagogue saturday afternoon. several of those involved have

>> reporter: multiple law enforcement agencies have set up a perimeter near friendship new york near pennsylvania border after a possible sighting of convicted killers david sweat and richard matt according to new york state police. it is the third possible sighting of the men in the same general area over the past week. >> we're not going anywhere. our plan is to pursue these men relentlessly until they are in custody. >> reporter: sweat and matt cut their way out of the clinton correctional facility on june 6th using power tools, prison employee joyce mitchell is behind bars, accused of helping them escape. former prison guard said officials had warned mitchell about her relationship with the prisoners. >> yes she was talk to about getting too close to the inn pennsylvania mates. >> reporter: prison officials also suspended a corrections officer as part of the investigation, but didn't release any further details. in new york, brian web for cbs-3 "eyewitness news".

well prison inmates and fire fighters team up in arizona to fight a raging brush fire. more than a dozen female inmates have gone through training and then completed the same certification programs that wild land fire fighters have. eighteen inmates have been on the scene for three days helping arizona fire fighters battle that rural fire fighters. they say they are treated as fire fighters and in the prisoners when outside on the fire line. >> we're a close bunch. we want to succeed when we get out of here. a lot of us want to do this when we get out. it is a great continue. i'm very grateful for it. >> this isn't the first time the crew has been on the front lines battling wild fires. their crew gets called out at least seven or eight times every year. and thousands of revellers, and self styles gathered in stone henge to mark the summer of solstice the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. cloud cover unfortunately

risk of rip current. people will be on the beaches later on this afternoon and look already they are cleaning them up, isn't that nice. there is nothing more picturesque then seeing a tractor go down the beach. anyway, work has to get done so we have to get that done. we have temperatures in the 70's every place. seventy-six in philadelphia 75 wilmington. seventy-three in trenton. still 67 degrees in the poconos. warm and humid out there this morning. but, here's the improvement look. this is what created a mess out there for a lot of people this morning. we have one little batch left that will kind of eclipse a portion of cape may county and atlantic county and just get out of here but notice, the back edge of this, we are drying out and it is going to be a much better looking afternoon then it has been a morning, not be hard to do. oppressive though, yes. these are dew point measuring moisture in the air.

they can be in the 40's. you know how nice that air feels. you know how that air feels too. 90 degrees. we could possibly hit that today, we will be in the lower 90's again tomorrow and we may be in the low to mid 90's by tuesday, are we talking our first heat wave of the season, maybe if we hit 90 degrees today. future weather clearing this out, and bringing in some sunshine this afternoon then bringing in a shower or thunderstorm this evening. cannot be ruled out. watch out for that later on even though the day will be brightening up, nicely a as we move into thisafternoon. tomorrow a sunny warm day. these temperatures getting in the 90's. tuesday do we see another chance of picking up a shower. it is possible. we will monitor that to see whether or not this does come to pass, with a front but it looks like a couple of showers, not a guarantee. otherwise expect 90 degrees.

have we have to go out and do something that saturday, a perfect forecast. 8:17. lets check on the roads with ann evans good morning. >> still this jackknife tractor trailer causing havoc on the blue route southbound. all lanes are shut down southbound between exit three media swarthmore and exit number one macdade. traffic at a stand still jackknife tractor trailer at the top of the screen there you can see we have quite a delay on the blue route southbound so, not a good time there this morning. we will move traffic cam here to the schuylkill westbound at montgomery drive. we had an accident earlier to the right of the screen in the westbound lanes that has been since clear. schuylkill back to normal and moving fine through philadelphia and suburbs. on to ben franklin parkway the parkway shut down between logan circle and art museum circle for a fathers day run that is happening. also shut down with it is martin luther king drive between ben franklin parkway and montgomery drive. that is a latest from the cbs-3 traffic center, i'm ann evans now nicole back to you.

well, if you were planning a wedding, you know, invitations, flowers, food they are among things that drive up the cost but they can increase celebration's toll on the environment and for many couples that is a big concern. three on your side consumer reporter jim donovan looks at ways to make the big day more green without being too extreme. >> reporter: there are more than 2 million weddings in the united states, every year, that is a lot of invitations menus, dresses flowers, cakes and more. while many couples will spare no indulgence the last decade or so has brought a new focus on going green. katie martin is a wedding planner and editor in chief to eco beautiful weddings magazine. she said keeping things close is the first step. >> it is alling abouting local. the more local you have your vendors, the better you are at being sustainable and having your wedding being list ways full. >> reporter: that includes local florals and flavor. pick something seasonal and

two children and 18 month-old toddler. alexandria hoff is live in southwest philadelphia with the latest on that, california ex- >> reporter: nicole, we do know all ten victims are in stable condition. many are a actually already out of the hospital but police are still looking for a suspect. according to investigators it was just before 10:00 p.m. when a block party on the 4100 block of ogden was interrupted by gunfire. police say an unknown male turned on to the streets and fired multiple shots using a shotgun into a crowd one of these hitting an 18 month-old child in the neck. they are still trying to piece together what happened in the moments before. >> we don't believe the shooter was here at any point from what we know at this point but there may be a possibility he was here and return back later with the gun but we are still working through that. >> reporter: is there also the possibility they say that person was unwanted from the start at that block party. they point out there has been two groups with the ongoing

feud, one of those groups lived on that block. a all ten victims are in stable condition. we are reporting live from southwest detectives, alexandria hoff for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a manifesto has surface that had could give investigators a better pictures of the gunman accuse in the charleston massacre. investigators found 2500 word racist rant on the web site. they are trying to confirm fit was written by suspect dylann roof. there were photos of roof holding a gun sitting with a slave era manikin and burning an american flag. meantime crews are working to get emmanuel am e church ready for worship this morning. the church is expect to reopen for services later today. >> for this to take place very simple, all of it now all we wanted, was for peace. >> we still have actual violence being committed through the way of domestic enemy, domestic territory under this flag. >> shooting is being investigated by fbi as a hate

host of contributing factors here. >> reporter: saturday saw memorial ceremonies for the tragedy. greater ame cathedral in new york hosted a prayer service. participants then moved outside for a rally with toy remember the victims. i'm andy rose reporting. go p party members wrapped up northeast republican leadership conference right here in philadelphia perspective 2016 presidential candidates scott walker delivered the keynote dress there in center city. governor chris christie, former senator santorum and presidential candidate karlie fiorina were among those in attendance. governor walker spoke about the significant philadelphia has for a conference. >> when you think of freedom and think of the founders and patriots that were here, and what it has meant for our country just such a honor to be here. >> conservative activist discussed health care reform, terrorism and young leaders in the republican party pennsylvania is considered one of the battle ground states for the 2016 presidential

election and will host the democratic national convention, next year. well, is there a $10,000 reward offered for information leading to a suspect who shot and killed a new orleans police officers on saturday. this is a very sad story. darryl holloway was shot and killed transporting three three-year old travis boys to jail. boys freed his hand from the cuffs, grabbed a gun and then shot holloway. officer holloway leaves behind three children. we do have an up kate on a intentional hit and run that led to a philadelphia with man losing her leg. that victim beatrice spence, she's now home from the hospital. police charged precious coleman with attempted murder after she allegedly ran over spe nce with her car because of a love triangle dispute. police say on that same day her house caught fire when her mother ran out of the house to check on her leaving food on the stove. very unfortunate. a tanker truck fire caused major problems on the pennsylvania turnpike this

weekend. it is a big mess. truck was carrying 2700 gallons of home heating oil when it caught fire near the bend salem interchange. crew has todd use foam to clean up that mess, a portion of the guardrail also had to be replaced. in new jersey we love to see these a special welcome home for a pair of veterans. "eyewitness news" in haddon township on saturday where army staff sergeant paul rodefsky and joseph white were greeted by friend family and warriors watch riders. bows were most recently deployed to qatar. they served in iraq and had deployment in europe and africa. >> not everybody has a big welcome home. not everybody has a big family to have a welcome home. it is truly amazing. i think everybody should be happy. >> reporter: paul rodefsky is a alumni of collinswood high school. he graduated a went to the marines from there. joseph white went to rancocas valley regional high school. 8:36. we will take a short break.
