tonight at 11:00 o'clock outrage over this video of a student under attack. the video has led police to take action. good evening, i'm chris may. jessica is on assignment. that attack was vicious and unprovoked. our natasha brown has more on the victim's injuries and a look at that video that's now gone viral this video is extremely difficult to watch unprovoke attack on a 17-year-old student allegedly at the hands of his own classmates.

but this video has now led to five arrests. vicious attack is cringe worthy. five teenaged boys beating punching, kicking a helpless 17-year-old student. each devastating blow becomes more and more difficult to watch watch. >> martin luther king high school student while on his way home from school was a costed by five of his classmates. >> he's being attacked simultaneously at times. >> captain maliki jones of the northwest detectives division takes us through the disturbing video that's now gone viral. >> this kid was an innocent person. he had done nothing to anybody. and he was approached by these individuals and asked was he involved in fight which apparently occurred at the school the day before. and he had nothing to do with it whatsoever. >> reporter: you can see bystanders sitting idly by never venturing to help. >> during this incident he lost numerous teeth as a result of this incident. as i said he sustained is a concussion. >> reporter: police say in this case the video however graphic is what is now led to

the arrest of all five attackers attackers. >> this video was turned over to school officials and the school officials along with us were able to identify all five perpetrators. >> that's ridiculous. it's heartbreaking report roar we showed the video to folk in the neighbor near 65th and wister where whereas saul happened three blocks from martin luther link sky school. >> that's sad. >> gasp after gasp from parents imagineing their own child as a victim to senseless violence. >> it's ridiculous that somebody would beat somebody up -- anybody like that. that's sad. it's so sad how these teenagers are cab acting. so defenseless and sit there by hisself and five guys beating up on him. i'm glad they found all five of them. >> the victim who's an honor roll is on the men. the suspects are on their way to facing charges of aggravated assault and wreck recklessly endangering another person. all are 16 and 17-year-old with

the session of weren't 18-year-old charged as an add dull. well as we continue to deal with the aftermath of tuesday' storms there's even more rain tonight. let's check in with meteorologist kathy orr. she's tracking how long this latest round of wet weather will last. kathy. >> here we go again, chris. heaviest rain through south jersey and central and southern delaware a line from the eastern shore of maryland through dover extend aig cross the and through vineland maurice river, cape may courthouse extending toward atlantic city where you see the oranges and yellows and heavy downpours an few thunder showers i'm not seeing thunderstorms out there. this could dumb app good dose of rain he he is special through south jersey and delaware up to half an inch overnight the highest amounts to the south and east of the city and possibility of a few rumbles of thunder. come tomorrow we'll see some showers for the morning rush. by 9:00 a.m. few showers around. 11am a few break in the clouds with sprinkles possible. the temperature 73. the big question for the weekend, will it be a washout?

we'll answer that with the seven day forecast coming up a little later in the broadcast. chris. >> okay, kathy, thank you tonight utility crews continue working to restore power to tens of thousands who have been in the dark since tuesday night. here are the latest numbers right now. atlantic city electric still reporting about 107,000 customers without power. peco is down to a little over 31,000. 3,000 pse&g customers are still off line and delmarva reports about a thousand outages tonight tonight. there's still days of cleanup ahead in hard hit delaware county. "eyewitness news" in chester as residents helped each other out today. the county remains under a state of emergency tonight and there is a 24 hour shelter that has been opened in brookhaven. in south jersey residents in east greenwich gloucester county are being asked to stay at home tonight. you can see the reason why. downed traffic lights and utility poles continue to block roads including the one you're looking at now swedesboro avenue

avenue. the seven star diner in washington township had throw away $150,000 worth of food today. it all went bad because of a power outage there. and to make matters worse the power went out during dinner service so they can't wash a mountain of dishes there. nearby trim right meats also lost thousands in inventory and sales. thousands of lightning strikes during the height of the storm and at least one hit the 911 center in salem county. several dispatchers wound up being shock as they tried to field emergency calls. "eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco has that story. isn't it was heavy rain, there was some flooding, wires down, trees down. >> reporter: tuesday evening and heavy rains and high winds were bearing down over woodstown salem county. >> it was multitude of lightning that is were happening. it was like lightning boom. >> reporter: calls were streaming into the salem county 911 center when dispatcher doug

hoe gate felt a jolt. >> i felt through my body through my arm like a quick -- like a quick shock it went up my arm and i actually felt it into going into my neck. >> i dropped the phone real quick soon it happened. it traveled. >> reporter: running on adrenaline he picked up the phone and continued answering cause along with the other dispatchers. >> he has head and neck pain. it pretty much felt like an ax was hitting him in the head. >> reporter: the building may have taken several lightning strikes surging through the phone lines and shocking all five. when the call center was answering its highest volume of calls, one dispatcher called over to the ambulance company they dispatched to check their vitals. >> when you have the stethoscope in your ears and you're trying to listen to blood pressures and things, and all the chaos that's going on around you it's very hard to get a good blood pressure. >> my heart rate was at a steady 140. >> reporter: and his blood pressure was 200 over 130. that's when emt ryan egress convinced dug it was time to go to the emergency room while cat

skyline mostly cloudy skies out there and temperatures are comfortable in the 60s. down the shore real wet weather in the back bay. you can see harrah's and borgata lit up on storm scan3 heavy rain moving through ac right now. the heaviest rain focused through south jersey and delaware where you see all those yellows and orange where is we have the heaviest rain. some lightning well to the south in virginia, some thunder showers though in some very heavy rain extending through cape may county toward atlantic city and through kent county and sussex county delaware and this will be the focal point. you can see through philadelphia just some spotty showers right now. but the heavier rain will stay toward the south. so if you're in sea isle you have some light showers. but heavier rain toward avalon, stone harbor under the gun as well as cape may courthouse going down route nine and also down the garden state parkway. so if anyone is in that area, heading home, give them a call and let them know they'll hit very heavy rain right now in the city 69. 68 in atlantic city and wildwood it is 73. reading 65. we'll watch this area of low
