even without the presidential visit security has been high. mourners will fill the arena, the college of charleston today to bid a final farewell to pastor and state senator clementa pinckney. president obama will deliver the eulogy. the president and first lady knew pinckney and some of the other victims. >> the president will be mindful of not just how sad it is but to use the occasion to celebrate their lives. >> reporter: pinckney was killed at bible study at the emanuel ame church. thousands turned out thursday to view the pastor's open casket. >> reporter: president obama will also meet with the families of the other victims of the church massacre here in charleston. among them 45-year-old sharonda coleman singleton and

70-year-old70 70-year-old ethel lamb. charleston buries six more of its own. now house speaker john boehner and hillary clinton will attend the funeral today. it starts at 6:00. >> thank you, don. the family of dylann roof issued a statement thursday. it said in part we would like to take the time to reflect on the victims and give the families time to grieve. we feel it would be inappropriate to say anything at this time other than we are truly sorry for their loss. all nine people on board a sightseeing plane were killed when it crashed in alaska. the twin engine plane flew into

a mountain north of ketchikan. the passengers were on an excursion from a cruise ship. and new questions are being raised over hillary clinton's private e-mails on the 2012 benghazi attack in libya. the state department said on thursday it cannot find all or part of 15 work-related e-mails from the former secretary of state that were released the week by the house committee. clinton claims she turned over 55,000 pages of material including all work-related e-mails. the supreme court's decision upholding a key provision of the affordable care act has opponents fuming. it's the second time in three years the court has ruled in favor of president obama's health care law all but assuring it will survive after the president leaves office. mark albert is in washington

with more. mark, good morning. >> good morning, anne-marie. this was a major test for the law that's become known as obama care. the ruling dealt with the tax subsidies at the heart of the law. it parked a heated descent at the court and a republican vow to use the health care law as a key issue in the 2016 election. >> if those justices want to become legislators, i invite them to resign and run for office. >> senator ted cruz and other republican presidential candidates are livid calls the decision outrageous and outright tierneyear tyranny. they say they're not done yet. >> we're going to continue our efforts do everything we can to put the american people back in charge of their own health care and not the fellow government. >> reporter: >> in a 6-3 decision they said americans can.

for the second time chief justice john roberts wrote an opinion supporting the law. congress passed the affordable care act, wrote robertss to improve the health care markets, not destroy them. just as anthony scalia said we should start calling this law scotus care. they say they would have lost the subsidy. the ruling was a significant legal win for the president. >> after more than 50 votes to appeal or or awaken this law after observing or repealing this law, after multiple challenges to this law before the supreme court, the affordable care act is here to stay. >> and the obama administration got another victory from the supreme court when the justices preserved a key law that fights

housing bias in a 5-4 ruling. the justices ruled the fair housinging at ing atact can be used by people to challenge housing rules and lending practices that have a harmful effect on minorities even if there's no proof that the discrimination is intended. anne-marie? >> mark albert in washington. thank you, mark. the supreme court still has five cases to rule on and the biggest involves gay marriage. same-sex couples want the court to approve that anyone can marry. four states want to uphold it and allow the political process not the courts to decide the outcome. the justices could rule as early as today. and the house approved the president's peace agent day. the house passed the bill that includes a worker training program for workers who lose their jobs because of international trade. the bill had been blocked by

democrats who were opposed to the fast track negotiating authority approved by congress earlier this week. the vote clears the way for the administration to wrap up the trade deal with 12 pacific rim nations. and this morning firefighters are fighting two wildfires in the foothills east of los angeles. the latest fire broke out last night burning at least 100 acres. it's grown overnight and several buildings are threatened but so far no evacuations have been ordered. about 12 miles away firefighters are fighting the largest forest fire this year. the lake fire has grown to over 25,000 acres. there are mandatory and voluntary evacuations in place, but many residents are staying put. >> as far as i'm concerned, i'm trusting the professionals that are fighting the fire and i trufrt in their advice and their words, and if it's voluntary i'm not going to leave until they say it's necessary.

>> about 20% of the fire is contained. investigators say gene palmer delivered tools to richard matt and david sweat inside frozen meat. palmer's palmer's arraignment was delayed when his attorneys stepped aside. court papers say palmer gave matt and sweat access to behind their cells and allow them to rewire electricity so they could cook for themselves in exchange for art from the inmates. more than a thousand law enforcement officers are searching for matt and sweat in new york. christie is planning to jump into the electionoral race. he'll make his announcement tuesday. meanwhile another presidential hopeful is in a

france must be shut down. yesterday striking french taxi cab drivers set cars on fire and blocked traffic. they say uber is ruining their lives. its drivers continue do business. 70 taxis were damaged yesterday and people were arrested. the ceo and manufacturer of takata apologized for the defective airbags that have killed at least eight people. speaking in tokyo they say they haven't figured out what caused the airbags to explode with excessive force. nearly 34 million vehicles in the u.s. have been recalled. the pod-like cars are driving on streets near google's silicon valley headquarters. the cars had previously been confined to a track and humans were on board in indication of
