this is the "cbs morning news" for tuesday, june 30th, 2015. good morning. thanks for joining us. i'm alison harmelin for allege. federal authorities have issued a bullet alerting local official to the threat. hannah daniels is here in new york with more. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, alison. the chatter of a possible attack has terror experts on high alert. they are warning all law enforcement officials to be prepared and vigilant this independence weekend. in "the new york times" one of the biggest fireworks sflas is set to take place, officials will keep an eye in the air and on the ground. >> there will be a very robust deployment of both patrol resources, playing close

resources, technology. >> reporter: sources tell wcbs they will use cameras to monitor the festivities and manhole covers will be welded in place. a bullet last week urging members of law enforcement to remain vigilant to prevent a possible terror attack on u.s. soil. >> i would say that this is the most serious level of threat that i've seen since september 11th. >> joo>> reporter: federal officials there is no threat. >> i think one of the reasons they are so successful just because they are perceived to have the momentum. they are perceived to be winning. >> reporter: on monday, this man was charged with providing material support to isis. according to the criminal complaint, addai bought a plane tick for his brother to fly overseas to join the terror

group. if convicted he faces up to 20 years in prison. this threat comes a week after attacks in tunisia, france and kuwait. >> thank you, hannah. >> reporter: firefighters in washington state are battling a wind-blown wildfire that has already destroyed two dozen homes. the out of control fire has burned some 4,000 acres near and in the town of winache, 20 miles northeast of seattle. the wildfire scorched homes before firefighters could react and hundreds were forced to evacuate. >> it was intense. large embers blowing everywhere roofs catching on fire vegetation around the house just spreading from house-to-house. >> reporter: wind-blown burning embers set a warehouse on fire and three firefighters suffered minor injuries but no residents have been hurt. in california a wildfire broke out yesterday afternoon about 150 miles north of los angeles. the smoky fire is contained but burned over 300 acres.

no buildings have been burned and there are no injuries reported but some evacuation orders remain this morning. this morning, the immediately threat overseas is the greek economy. today, the main part of greece's bailout deal expires and with no agreement in site tempers are rising throughout europe. greece is out of money and it's cut off by its creditors. the crisis sent stocks on wall street to their biggest losses of the year yesterday. the loss wiped out all of the gains for this year. dow and the s&p are down and stock markets in asia saw steep losses before rebounding. holly joins is by the phone. >> reporter: good morning. today is also the day that greece was to make a payment to the international monetary fund of 1.8 billion dollars, a payment it cannot make. leaving his office on monday night, the greek prime minister alexis tsipras was defiant and he has called for a national referendum for sunday. greeks will be asked to vote on

bailout deal that calls for more cutbacks and tsipras is encouraging them to vote no. at a rally yesterday, thousands of greeks said they agree with their prime minister. they have enough of european mandated austerity. >> we weren't pleased and nothing more. nothing else. this is humiliating. >> reporter: with the greek banking system and stock markets shot down greeks rushed to grab what money they could, withdrawing $1.5 billion from their accounts on friday. no vote on sunday's referendum could be the final nail in the coffin when it comes to greece remaining in the eurozone. that would be traumatic. alison? >> holly williams for us in athens, greece, thank you so much, holly. at least 20 people were killed when an indonesian cargo

plane crashed. it went down shortly after taking off in northern indonesia. 12 crew members were on board. the pilot made a turn and crashed into acl. this morning, thedeadline to reach a deal is today but a senior u.s. official says the talks on a comprehensive nuclear agreement will continue. secretary of state john kerry continued to negotiate yesterday. after yesterday, u.s. officials said they were nowhere near a deal. we are learning how two convicts escaped prison. one of the men is talking. two prison employees had been charged with helping the two convicts escape. gene palmer appeared in court yesterday and admits to giving the two tools but didn't know about their escape plans.

>> reporter: david sweat said he and fellow inmate richard matt had to improvise when their get-away driver didn't show up june 6th. he said it was for joyce mitchell to drive them for mexico but mitchell had a panic attack to sweat and matt took off toward canada. >> they took off. >> reporter: sweat told police the pair split about a week ago because matt was slow. a border patrol agent shot and killed matt friday. on sunday a new york state police sergeant spotted sweat and shot him twice in the torso. about a mile and a half from the canadian border. investigators hope to get more information more information out of sweat in the coming days. the republican presidential field is expected to get more crowded today. chris christie is expected to kick off a presidential run at

his high school. a sharply divided supreme court has upheld the use of a controversial drug during executions. the court voted 5-4. the justices decided its use does not violate the prohibition on cruel and unusual punishment. several skugsexecutions with the drug took much longer. two justices say for the first time that the death penalty may be unconstitutional. justice stephen breyer along with ruth bader ginsburg write, quote. the court also temporarily blocked part of a texas abortion law. it would have closed most abortion clinics in the state. the justices voted 5-4 to grant an emergency appeal for abortion providers. the decision could be a signal that the court is preparing to hear a full appeal. that would be its biggest
