s are weakening, and if you leave in more stable air over and down toward shore points but still pockets of heavy rain to watch. and, a few storms popping up, one cell just to the west of kent county and heavy rain over gloucester county, and these are areas hard hit last week, some folks still without power from that storm or just got it back and another round of storms rumbling through that area from gloucester, williamstown. i'm keeping a close eye on this storm looking nasty with lots of lightening. this is in maryland but making its way toward southern delaware. we will keep you posted on that. we will remain under severe thunderstorm watch for most of the area until 8:00 o'clock tonight. this is any area in yellow including cumberland, salem camden gloucester counties in new jersey. kent and new castle delaware. southeastern pennsylvania, that goes until 8:00 p.m. recap of the damage and storm reports we have received, and lehigh county, a possible funnel cloud spotted at a shopping center in ore field.

hail in diameter 1.75 inches and coplay reports cars trapped in flood waters. allentown a 61-mile an hour gusts reported at lehigh valley international airport. it has been a very busy afternoon. what to expect for rest of the tonight? strong to severe storms out there biggest threat is downpours. heavy rain and risk for flash flooding. damaging wind possible as well as small hail. i wanted to show you one picture. look at that clear rotation in the cloud structure here in coplay pennsylvania, an area in the tornado warning has flash flooding still ongoing and the clouds were definitely trying to make a tornado. whether they succeeded we do not know but it was a very nasty afternoon in that part of the region and flash flooding continues. i will have more on that and seven day in a few more minutes, todd and diana back to you. >> thanks very much. these storms led to damage in parts of our area. >> our david spunt is live with the aftermath in white hall township lehigh county

tonight. david, what can you tell us. >> reporter: whatever this was, it was in and out of here. check out this roof, right here, this collapsed luckily nobody was hurt but we did speak to the woman inside at hopson and poplar in white hall township. we were told 2,000 people are out of power. there is a state of emergency declared. that is according to the mayor in whitehall township. listen to this woman inside this home when it happen. she just made it inside. lets take a listen. >> i was peeking outside with my dad and we saw patio furniture walking across the porch and as we thought we were going to grab it we saw the wind were stronger so we went in and ran down in the basement and a few seconds later heard loud crash with the roof coming down. >> reporter: across the street here you can see this tree. i spoke to the owner and he says he plant that had tree 43 years ago when he moved in the area. this is what we are seeing trees down, luckily that is only major roof collapse we have seen.

belong to go an eight five-year old woman found dead in her east mt. airy home. the 2007, silver toyota corolla was found in the 3100 block of north stillman street in north philadelphia it belongs to eight five-year old regina brunner who was found dead yesterday on her home on rumfort road. her throat had been slashed. so far no arrests have been made. police are investigating a double shooting in west oak lane that left a man and pregnant woman critically wounded and unborn baby dead. shots were fired last night in the 7300 block of theron avenue the three two-year old female victim was shot in the back, there is no word tonight on identity of the victims police are now reviewing surveillance video in that area. philadelphia police say they have now caught the person responsible for vandal icing more than a dozen cars in south philadelphia overnight. sixteen car owners woke up this morning to find damage ranging from scratches to broken windshield wipers. vandalism spree targeted cars

along 2,000 block of south broad street. police are asking people who were affect to give them a call. and two drivers are recovering after an early morning crash on the pennsylvania turnpike, in montgomery county. chopper three over the scene there, a dump truck and pickup truck collided on the westbound ramp to the blue route in plymouth township. crash prompted an hour long rescue effort to free the dump truck driver. the cause of that crash remains under investigation. still to come tonight on "eyewitness news", we will continue to keep an eye on severe storms pushing through our area "eyewitness news" in spring garden earlier where there was a rush to get out of the rain. kate? we will continue to track these showers and storms on storm scan three they are weakening but you can see very heavy rain flash flood warning has been issued for poconos and we have still a severe thunderstorm watch in effect i'll have latest on these storms coming up. diana? plus it is a popular place, many people stopped to grab a bite to eat or in your morning coffee but how about a six pack, coming up delaware

more incentive to go down the shore. >> absolutely. >> exactly. >> for fourth of july weekend. >> that is coming up in the seven day forecast but first we will talk about the near term what is happening outside right now as these storms move through. lets look at outdoors, we will start off with rooftop camera on skies cam three and dark cloud over center city philadelphia it looks like it is brightening up. the cloud are pretty thick to the west but brightening up, to the east i this should say over portions of new jersey, brightening up to the west now, but it is still a little unsettled out there you still cannot rule out possibility that a shower or thunderstorm will pop up any where but they are starting to move a little further east now. note thinks line of storms in western pennsylvania, and through central pennsylvania, you cannot rule out any storm activity overnight tonight even a few showers and pop up thunderstorm may be around the area. worst of it is probably over but as far as tornado warnings are concerned but heavier of the rain right new coming down for poconos and portions of

south jersey. you can seashore is staying out of it. everything is stable down the shore. that is keeping these storms from developing down there. heavier of the rain is over poconos where new flash flood warnings have been issued. tobyhanna, lehighton, right along the turnpike there we have slow downs with that very heavy rain, that is following with any of these storms. continuing to track this cell. this is moving in southern delaware and cloud blow off is reaching the jersey shore right now. look at that lightening, very frequent lightening, i will watch this one in case it does turn severe moving through delaware and into portions of southern new jersey as we go through next several hours. i want to show you flash flood warnings because we have a few up through lehigh valley and poconos. here's new one for carbon, monroe county until late tonight 7:00 for flash flood warning overly high valley including allentown bethlehem, easton, nazareth and flash flood warnings in effect, any flooding is ongoing especially poor drainage area roads prone to flooding, you you are

experiencing it this afternoon. we say turn around, don't drawn, don't get stuck in flood waters, it doesn't take much to lift a car or truck and pose a life threatening situation the severe then are storm watch until 8:00 for the area here's's flash flood watch upper bucks montgomery county chester county and lehigh valley and poconos and berks county as well. few storm reports coming in funnel cloud 1.75-inch diameter hail reported as well. right now 78 at the airport. storms will push through but they should fizzle during overnight hours. humidity then returns heading toward fourth of july weekend as far as overnight is concern 70 degrees mostly cloud which that shower or thunderstorm. you're witness weather seven day forecast warm, steamy tomorrow at 88. sun and afternoon storm. thursday gets better with showers off to the south friday partly sunny. and fourth of july not bad at all can't rule out a thunderstorm with you should be okay from your barbecue and sunday looks nice as well at 88 degrees. not a about a fourth of july
