the schuylkill we are live with how it is impacting your morning commute ukee. we are tracking storms as they make their way out of here but are we in the clear just yet. and this young laid toy my left and your right knows the answer to that because they came in pretty strong this morning. we saw what happened this morning. >> we had heavy rain, lightening and just behind us storm reports that came in just from last night ukee, and these storms really pack a punch. it wasn't a a squall line like this past tuesday brought where we had a macro burst over southwestern new jersey gloucester county got in on that but stormy portion the lehigh valley was hit hardest. we had a funnel cloud sighting in trexlertown. fogelsville as well. coplay there were cars trapped in food water. orefield 1.75 inches equate toss golf ball sized hail. so this really was a a system that brought in some heavier
6:32 am
moisture and quite a bit of instability. looking at storm scan three what i want you to notice is that bulk of lightening is retreating, thank goodness and also, with it, the moisture contend. you will still notice it is very muggy. still cloud cover. we will not brighten up for sunshine, but we will see sunshine, we are not out of the woods just yet this view outside kutztown area middle school is showing cloud moving steadily. you can see them moving before your very eyes on that live shot, 54 muggy degrees there. we are expecting upper 80's in the city, cooler in the resort towns obviously but i would say anyone is fair game for a shower or thunderstorm, especially as you go off to the north. the thing is, these showers and storms are far from as widespread as they were yesterday, definitely not talking severity as what we saw with the storm cells yesterday. there will be still building heat and humidity in the forecast and right now what promises to be a decent who will take weekend forecast as well and we will have details
6:33 am
on all of your picnic plans good morning vittoria. >> fantastic birthday girl. >> stop it. stop it. >> i can't help you. >> good morning everyone. right now, if you are traveling on the schuylkill expressway i'm sure you are wishing you somewhere else. because 76 west wound is a total wash, out of south philadelphia beyond an accident scene that is still compromising a few lanes allowing one lane to get by. because 76 westbound is so saturated in volume it is also affecting vine street expressway. maybe if you are used to traveling between 95 and schuylkill you will have a a big old problem ahead of you. i wouldn't advice to you get on the vine at this point. if you are traveling to i-95, head toward western suburbs might be a better idea to hop off callowhill and use vine street local and jump over to fairmount and take kelly drive. we are just stuck in the thick of it and in one is moving. on the opposite side of the
6:34 am
spectrum heading east on the i-95 vine is in problems. i-95 is a sore spot southbound out of the north east and vine, usual stuff here, keep that in mind. would i say biggest problem is on the westbound side of the schuylkill. state troopers are investigating, westbound lanes of the schuylkill expressway. two people are dead and one is injured, vittoria was just talking about this. and experts say that salt i sea water in some areas may be attracting sharks. let's check with katie right now and weather watchers. good morning young lady. happy birthday again. >> thank you so very much. appreciate that, guys. good morning everyone. we will start off with a view of what the eyewitness weather watcher network is seeing this morning and for the most part we have steaminess going on out there we have with the weather out of here at that point, for the time being. it does than the mean we are ought of the woods. one of the hardest hit areas was yesterday's storms, lehigh valley, up in allentown julia came in the last 15 minutes of the 67-degree temperature. she has a hint of sunshine but 96 percent relative humidity at her location. she's enjoying this morning after storms that did rumble through. we will go off to the south and let's go down to delaware. we had heavy rain there more sunlight for anything for jason. we are brightening things up. he is at a 67 degrees. we will go to another 67 degrees reading from carry out in new jersey with more

cloud then anything. but she did say it is starting to brighten up after the thunderstorms that rumbled through. her mount laurel, locations through the overnight. and sad liz large pud also out there. watch for that. in the meantime could we get rid of the umbrella? i think we could. you can see how storms have not only started to retreat but do you see how they are fizzling, over the last three hours we went from steady heavy rain to barely anything on the radar. is there still a lot of moisture to work with, but without the steaminess and you will see a spotty shower or thunder arm but keyword is spot i. also no where near severe criteria there for to us day in the atmosphere. it will be less widespread, a lot less severe in terms of the potential for these storms to turn strong. much better day by comparison. frontal boundary drops to the south and sort of gets stuck for the next few days. i cannot rule out of the shower on thursday and friday but we will go partly sunny overall. on at day maybe a thunderstorm, not totally sold on that, it is just a chance,
6:46 am
just a question mark as a result on the seven day for now, vittoria, over to you. >> thanks, katie. well, right new sort of the question mark as to how long it is going to take to you travel on the vine street expressway to get to the schuylkill expressway, and then how long it will take to you get into your western suburbs. we have a lot going on, and all of the volume that you can see here on the vine street expressway is a mix of two things, one rush hour and then the other being residual backup from the earlier fatal crash we had on the westbound side of the schuylkill at montgomery drive. you're thinking okay, now it is at least a couple of miles away and well, that delay severely backs things up through center city. so a major problem, if you are hopping off of i-95 trying to get into downtown might be a better idea to take callowhill before you jump on the vine street expressway. it is not even worth it. new jersey is quiet minor slow downs in the northbound side of 42, a approaching 295 but big problem right now is schuylkill vine and i925 into downtown. ukee and quarter. there are calls for certain kind of of smart phone
