>> a philadelphia police officer on the other side of the law. officer michael alice faces assault charges after argument with his girlfriend turned physical. officer alice surrendered himself to internal affairs thursday. alice is 41 years old and 12-year veteran of the department assigned to highway patrol. commissioner ramsey suspended alice for 30 days with the intent to dismiss. >> philadelphia police tell us that detectives are questioning people in connection with the murder of an elderly woman in east mt. airy. eighty-five year old regina bruner was found dead inside of her rum ford road home monday. police have recovered her stolen 2007 silver toyota corolla. it was found in the 3100 block of north stillman street in north philadelphia. so far no arrests have been made. >> well, officials are on high alert this holiday weekends taking no chances as they beef up security, if educational agencies warn, terrorists could attack holiday celebrations. law enforcement sin creasing its manpower for this weekend.
