we are looking at 65 and up in mount pocono, slightly chillier at 61 degrees. we will have a complete look at your forecast, coming up next. >> and new this morning a violent night in philadelphia, police are investigating four homicide, "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live, to tell us more, but just so much violence, good morning a lot of violence indeed. three shooting and one stabbing, the youngest victim just 17 years old let's go to video of that scene from overnight here at 3:30, in the morning, a 17 year-old girl was found stabbed severely near wall street, park and hunting avenue he did die overnight. about that time in olney police were on the scene of the double shooting, first man

found, on the 52 block of masher. reportedly shot nearby on front street and duncannon in the leg and foot. was taken to einstein in stable condition, now nearby, second man was found shot and killed on the 5100 block have of north front street. now hours earlier in kensington about 1:00 in the morning on the 2,000 block of east stella street is where police fond responded and found a man in his 40's shot six times. he also died of his injuries, as well. and it is in southwest philadelphia, on independent day, at 8:43 p.m. on the 1700 block of south 53rd street, that is where police found a man, also, shot and killed, so police are new looking into four homicides, three shootings and one fatal stabbing, three men dead and one teenage girl, also dead this morning. back out live, police are made with any arrest, and any of these cases, they are looking for your tips this morning, if you know anything,

you're urged to give police a call as they investigate the death of four people this holiday weekend. we are live, i'm just continue finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thank you, we appreciate the update. memorial services will take place in trevose for regina brunner holmes, grandmother found murdered in her east mt. airy home. philadelphia police arrested lehigh wilson in norristown in connection with the killing. holmes was fund dead inside her rumfort road home on monday. wilson was working as a handy man for holmes at the time of the murder. >> he came to her door that night and she knew him from previous times when he did work for her let him in, we believe right now he probably was stealing something from her, maybe she caught him in the act of doing that and with that he was set off beat her and stabbed her and ultimately killed her. >> detectives believed that wilson act add loan in this but they say he has a long criminal history of violent

crime. a fire in on the dunes rat inner atlantic city caught on camera here. this is video from instagram of that brush fire which happened late last night. there is in word yet on how much of that brush actually burned the atlantic city fire department is investigating what cause that had fire and so far there are no reports of any injuries. and back here in philadelphia overnight crews worked to clean up the parkway after the welcome america concert and party on the parkway, it is a tough job after thousands make that hundreds of thousands she up to celebrate in the city where america was born. and, meantime it was an incredible close to the celebration, you hear that, it was a party out there check out fire works over the art museum last night. colorful display capping off the welcome america concert on the parkway and "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson was down on the parkway partying it up himself and checking out festivities there, steve. >> ♪ >> reporter: closer you get to the stage further away you get

the philadelphia police, the department's tack air unit supplied this video showing the sky lit up. police video caught fire works from other parts of the city, as they hash tagged leave it to the professionals. always a good idea. july 4th a day full of all things stars and stripes right here in the city of philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, the birthplace of america starting the daze off was a celebration of freedom ceremony in the birthplace of the declaration of the independence. crowd gathered at independent hall for patriotic music and readings from the declaration. ceremony commemorated other important milestones as well including the 50th anniversary of the first major lgbt protest in the u.s. philadelphia's mayor michael nutter took time out to address the crowd. >> happy independence day, a great honor to welcome all of my fellow philadelphians and visitors alike to the birthplace of democracy, our nation's first capitol.

>> independence day parade followed after that ceremony which went all throughout historic philadelphia. very appropriate. more celebrations to tell but at the independence visitors center where visitors got to take part in the special birthday party for in america. a party goers got to enjoy delicious patriotic treats including a five tear cake, pretty impressive, and hundreds of cup cakes displayed in the shape of an american flag, you can see that right there. betsy ross sang happy birthday to america. so many festivities. so great. 8:08. police remain on high alert across the country as people celebrate our nation's independence. as cbs's kenneth craig tells us extra security measures are taken to keep america save this fourth of july weekend. >> reporter: fire works lit up the night sky over the east river in new york city. an estimated 3 million spectators didn't let a terror threat warning rain on their fourth of july celebrations.

it's a taste so bold, yet so smooth, it could only be called, black silk, from folgers. a taste you could enjoy, fresh brewed, or one cup at a time. black silk, from folgers. a beach house deck collapsed in north carolina injuring 14 people, two of them critically. this happened last night as family was trying to take a group photo of the house on emerald aisle. it is unclear what cause that had collapse if it was just that many people being on the deck they don't know, and, estimates, it was 10 feet above the ground. >> wow, a small plane crashed

in the crowded beach in karlsbad california, faa says that the single engine piper pa 18 lost engine power saturday afternoon that plane was carrying a banner when it flipped over. twelve year-old boy suffered minor injuries in that pilot was not hurt, thank goodness. just a close call for a babe hoy drifts out to sea this is so unbelievable, ten month-old inflatable crib kept her floating off turkish coast and was later rescued by the coastguard. girl's parents forgot they left her in that crib and they didn't know what happened until other beach goers told them. wow. 8:13 right now. nathan's annual hot dog eating contest yesterday a huge upset. mens champion who has been title holder for eight years fell short this year. christine sloan from our sister station cbs two to new york introduced us to the new winner. >> this man represents all that is eternal. >> reporter: joey chestnut, eight time champion walking

just a gorgeous day you can see blue skies clouds have burned off at this point and setting ourselves up for sunshine and for more, on that here's meteorologist justin drabick. justin? >> reporter: good morning. hopefully you are having a great sunday enjoying your holiday weekend. forecast looking much better today compared to saturday as we are bringing back that sunshine. a lot of sunshine for your sunday. we will heat temperatures backup so it feels like summer once again and then later this upcoming week we will start to see more chances for some storms arriving to our forecast. but recent rainfall we had over delaware valley, that is great news as we check the drought and machine for no signs of any ab normally dry conditions or moderate drought situations. looking much bet's cross the delaware valley. the exception is in southern new england where we will find dry conditions. all is good here around philadelphia let's talk about what is had happening over next several days. high pressure builds back in control for today that will bring back mostly sunny skies high temperature surge in the

upper 80's, a couple degrees above average this time of the year. monies the same deal, keeping it nice and dry high pressure area over new england temperatures right near average, in mid to upper 80's but humidity increases each day. as we head toward tuesday that is when we will feel difference. we will be feeling hot temperatures close to 90. we will see chance for late day shower or storm as this next cold front moves through and a better chance to see these showers and storms on a wednesday. let's time things out. we are looking at future weather model again this afternoon, it looks great under mostly sunny conditions. get outside if you can. great pool and beach weather a as we head into tonight still really no problems. a few fair weather clouds moving on through. now it is back to reality on monday heading back to work, and conditions, still dry though 7:00 o'clock monday morning, maybe some clouds build on in but still keeping things dry as we head into monday afternoon. maybe you are extend ago this holiday weekend still looks okay but as long as conditions stay dry through your afternoon monday.

let's talk about winds currently we're dealing with wind out of the south to southwest, on the light side but then they will start to switch out of the south east on monday afternoon. that brings back high humidity levels. we will feel that, humidity increase as we head into tuesday, and wednesday so lets talk about temperatures. for today, we will see afternoon highs inland spots approaching the upper 80's. cool spots at the shore enjoy nice refreshing breeze there temperatures in the upper 70's. monday, a same deal, we will see inland locations philadelphia on north and west well in the mid 80's again south jersey near shore and delaware beaches should be hovering around upper 70's to near 80 degrees. we are looking at long term range and that cool pocket of air is long gone but new jet stream back the two north and this brings back heat and humidity for middle of the week and that is the trend all throughout the upcoming week into next week even. typical summer-like conditions ahead in the delaware valley. your forecast for today lots of sunshine, warm high

more royal baby news for you happening today, the christening of the britain's princess charlotte private services will happen on the church on the queen's country estate north east of london. hundreds are expected to the georgia tore watch the arrival of the royal family and hopefully get a glimpse of those two cuties, charlotte is now two months old by the way and fourth in line for the british thrown. just love seeing those two. 8:24. this year marks 150 anniversary of the u.s. secret service. that agency has had its ups and downs lately but still holds true to the mission of the keeping our nation's leaders out of harms way. cbs's lee co an got a rare look inside the secret service

today, it is sunday july 5th, good morning thanks so much for joining us this morning i'm nicole brewer and if you have outdoor plans maybe a backyard barbecue, scheduled you are in luck. lets go outside for a live look at skies cam three in atlantic city. wear looking at 73 degrees, check out that water and, it looks beautiful. yesterday's rain, long gone. we're happy to report. you can see from storm scan three we are in the tracking any rain, in storms in sight just lots of sunshine and it will feel like summer again which i think will be a welcomed change for a lot of people. lets look at your current temperature, out there right now, 71 degrees here in philadelphia. seventy-two in wildwood. other shore points. similar temperatures there to the west in lancaster we are looking at 65 and up north in mount pocono. chillier up there. we are looking at 61 degrees as of right now. not a bad start tour day by any stretch. we are talking about some

90-degree temperatures in the seven day forecast. if you like it hot and steamy, we have got that coming up in just a little bit. right now though new this morning a violent night in philadelphia where police are investigating four homicide in the a past few hours. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is in police headquarters to bring us up to dayton that. >> reporter: nicole, good morning. four homicide victims, three men and one just a teenager. lets go to video of the scene where she was found just 17 years old this girl found severely stabbed off broad street and hunting park avenue near walgreens parking lot. that was 3:30 this morning and, of course, she he did pass away from her injuries. now about that time came reports of the two men shot in olney, one man found shot and killed, in the 5100 block of north front street, a second man was shot near front street and duncannon as he was taken from masher street to einstein medical center in what we are told is in stable condition.

if you plan on grilling out maybe this holiday, one man's favorite burger sent him to the hospital and now he shares a warning before you fire up the barbecue. three on urd side's consumer reporter jim donovan explains. >> reporter: when you put meat on the grill you are usually concern about cooking it all the way through to kill food born bacteria but it wasn't food poisoning that sent thomas hatcher to the hospital but 14 millimeters of wire. >> it was about halfway through it, i felt something really sharp intense pain in the back of my throat. >> reporter: his wife's

well, team u.s.a. is in tonight's final for women's world cup pretty exciting here and it faces japan in the rematch of the 2011 final. you a may recall japan won that game in dramatic fashion so this could very well be sweet revenge for the u.s. women. they beat germany two to nothing in the sem is i finals. game time in vancouver is scheduled for 7:00 o'clock our time. well, one of the stars of the u.s. team is delran new jersey's own carli lloyd and last week she scored her third goal in six matches and was name player of the match.
