in ontario canada, helped boost the school's national profile, student improvement faculty, staff not only the first female president here at lasalle, but also the first lay person as well. until now the president has been a christian brother. michael macinnis served for 15 years. key caught up with the doctor earlier this year when her appointment was announced. while she says being a first isn't necessarily new for her she is still deeply honored and humbled for this opportunity in philadelphia. >> i have been the only woman or one of few women in different times in my life professionally, so that's not new to me. but to be able to share that here at lasalle is going to be historic. you have committed passionate he can engaged young people, studying at this school, and i cannot wait to get to know them and to work with them more closely. >> reporter: now doctor is
