unfairness. police arrested leroy wilson, neighborhood handyman. they say wilson was working for holmes when he allegedly killed her. >> still no word on what caused a fioritura trapped several people in a burning home in ocean city, new jersey. exclusive video shows the flames shooting out of the home early sunday morning, 900 block of saint charles place in ocean city. fire officials tell us fire on the first flour forced those inside the rental property to the second and third floors. crews then had to use lad tears help them escape. >> he dedicated half his guys to fire suppression to knock the fire down, first floor so it didn't extend, and the other half of his crew he dedicated to rescue. >> fire officials say the five people suffered minor injuries and a firefighter was treated when stitches after getting cut on broken glass. tonight tomorrow wolf and republican lead letters try it hammer out budget deal. the governor vetoed the entire

>> five people are still in the hospital after a deck collapse in north carolina. it happened at a beachfront rental home in emerald aisle over the holiday weekend. authorities blame the deteriorating nails for the collapse that injured at least 24 people. the group was posting for a picture when the deck gave way. it fell to the ground. first responder describe the scene. a lot of people on top of each other, screaming crying, kids up said. >> authority say the deck was built to code in 1986 but the nails had likely detour ate dollars in harsh conditions along the ocean. >> southern california man and his dog are in the hospital after bee attack.

university with more on this historic day. jan, good morning. >> good morning lasalle's yu president, of course big day for her, but it is an even bigger day for the university. and historic day. as you mention in its 152 year history school has never had female president. that will change today. so take a look, here she is, this is doctor colleen the 29th president of lasalle university. most recently served as the president after college in ontario, canada, helped boost the school's national profile student enrollment and retention of high quality faculty and staff. not only the first female president at lasalle now but also the first lay president as well. until now the president has always been a christian brother. she succeeds michael macinnis who severed as president for 15 years. we caught one the doctor earlier this year when her a appointment was announced while she says being a first

>> continuing the train of thought on the man o war people assume well maybe the water temperature is warm, that's why these are starting to wash up on some of our area beaches. but really, you know, granted you have some very warm water across some of the mid-atlantic beaches down toward florida our water temperatures aren't that warm. i mean, pretty typical generally speaking, mid to upper 70s right now. up and down the jersey shore points. but really, it is not about the water temperature when it comes to man o war. rather about the fact of the way the winds blows. they are going to float on the ocean surface, so (he very highly toxic but get transported by the wind. had very persistent southerly component, that's part of the reason we're thinking that some of those man o war may have ended up washing up near our area beaches. yes, they are typically further off to the south. we go ahead switch gears check in wickley with the eyewitness weather watcher network, at least flirting with already surpassing the 07 degrees mark. it is definitely muggy

dan off joining us now with some advice, good morning sir. >> five tips, knowing what you are supposed to know. >> going to the hospital, like going to foreign country without going the language. know the tour guide. this case, know your doctor. know the name of your doctor. you would be surprised how many doctors go visit a person, while they are in the hospital. so you want to know who your main doctor is he or she coordinating your care? any special lists stop by make sure they leave their business card, you might forget who visited you. the nurses are key. know the names of your just cents. they help ensure your safety and they are with you for the most time. if you're not feeling well or if you have questions please, ask them. because they are key. >> also make sure know what medications you're on, what they do for you. that's another important one? >> know your medications, so before go into the hospital you may have diabetes, or certain medical conditions that are important to know. so you're taking them. then when you go if the

hospital make sure they know that and that they address it but if they give you any new medications make sure they know if you have allergies know the names of the medications, say you have high blood pressure, they don't know you are taking one then they give you one, you are taking both that can be bad. >> my hip surgery three years ago asking me my medications you're right don't want to mix that up. >> real important. sometimes it can be lost, like sometimes you don't know what you're on, oh, i was taking this blue striped yellow pill. you need to know the name. and the test result, if you get tests sometimes we do a lot of tests in the hospital. so get mri, cat scan blood work, don't assume if we haven't said anything it is normal. you have it right to know the test results. make sure ask the nurse or doctor every day. >> also, the diagnosis, too, that's an important one. >> erika, so many team people say what do i have? oh some type of back issue stomach. you want to know, is it your gal bladder, a disc? so important to know. then the other thing is, when

you are getting ready to leave. >> exit strategy. >> yes ukee, discharge planning. so what medicines do i need to be on? i have to make sure that i have -- what doctors do i need to see in see my family doctor within certain amount of days? that's real important. or specialist, do i need any follow up tests in so important, when you lever the hospital, it is called discharge planning. do i need to get oxygen at home, do i need home services, so before you leave there is a specialist that will meet with you to ensure you have safer journey from the hospital to your home, to try to prevent from having to come back. >> and of course you don't want to have to come back. any tips to make sure you don't want that return advice submit. >> yes. called discharge planning. prevent we call 30 day re-admission, basically know your medications being make sure it is called medication reconciliation, double doses and on the right ones, know when to follow up. we recommend anyone who is discharged from the hospital be seen by their doctor within seven days, very important to coordinate your care, to make sure that everything has been addressed, and to follow up on any tests that you need.
