suspects bank robber. the suspect fled and was shot after allegedly robbing a td bank around 10:00 this morning on york road. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff is live at hatboro police department with more on what happened, alexandria. >> reporter: first question we had was did this person have a right to be carrying that weapon. we now know that they did. what the shooting justified that parties still under investigation. there is a municipal official who witnessed a bank robbery at td bank on south york road here in hat wrote township. they persued that person and then ended up shooting that person and hopefully we can show you this story, right now. >> no audio. >> all right. so i guess we are having an issue with that but the

municipal official here in hatboro, ended up shooting this suspect in the hand, arms and non-life threatening injuries. police are investigating if the shooting was justified but the only injury was to that suspect who is now in police custody and recovering at abington hospital. we are going to send it back to you for now guess contact. >> al sand that we will try to get that full story later thanks very much. developing right now a person walking on a trail in rio grand, new jersey makes a gruesome discovery. middletown ship police say two bodies were found in the old rio grande avenue. investigators have not released the names of the man and women. they say this is an investigation in the early stages which mean they have few details to report travelers and traders were all affect this morning. we will start first with the hold up on wall street. an outage on the new york stock exchange led to a three hour shut down there. marley hall has more now on

the trade troubles. >> reporter: traders made up for lost time late wednesday buying and selling, were the closing bell. a computer glitch, stopped all trading for several hours, in the in middle of the day. something that not often is seen on the floor. >> it has happened before, the flash crash of a few years ago, but it has never lasted this long. >> reporter: the exchange updated its software last night and solved a connectivity issue right before the open but the system crash midday, repairs were made on a stock by stock basis. >> they decided to protect people and shut the market down. >> reporter: only about 20 percent of the stock lifted on the exchange, is traded here, the other 80 percent is traded on other platforms so those transactions still took place. >> it is a very ugly day in the stock market but it has nothing to do with the fact that we had a computer glitch. >> reporter: new york stock exchange kept in close contact with washington during the outage and both confirmed there was no indication of any

cyber attack. marley hall for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". and at the end of the the day, stocks closed with sizable losses, the dow jones lost 261-point ending at 17,515. and the nasdaq was down, 87 points and the s and p gave up 34 points. >> the wall street journal home page also went down today. readers found a message saying wsj.com was having technical difficulties and full site will return shortly. about 45 minutes later that site was backup. united returned to the skies after a technical glitch grounded flights nationwide, frustration and confusion hit some travelers at philadelphia international airport this morning. there they endured long lines while united worked to fix that computer problem. operations resumed around 9:30 after an faa imposed ground stop for flights on held for two hours. >> finally making my way home to my beautiful wife and lovely kids. >> you got it, nothing but a

lesson of heroin use and it is actually worse. >> reporter: just how bad? this week federal government released an eye opening report showing heroin use is up 62 percent in the u.s. compared to a decade ago. new jersey's even worse with her win related deaths about three times a national average. in south jersey the well known epi sent iser is camden where police mark a milestone on tuesday, 100 overdose saves with narcan. >> it is not just affecting us here in the city but unfortunately, 80 percent is coming here for the purchase. >> reporter: experts say one of the main causes for more heroin use is abuse of prescription medication, in particular painkillers. last years new jersey heroin task force announced statewide initiative to decrease availability, drop off boxes for unused medication are popping up and more and more police stations and other public buildings. havoc says one of the biggest challenge as heroin epidemic continuing is funding.

there is no custard available at any of the stores, nationwide. that is because of an egg shortage. poultry supplies are down due to one of the worse out breaks to ever hit the u.s. >> we have produced all of our frozen custard mix from a dairy local to philadelphia that is a all produced in one place. their supplies of eggs stopped making egg yoke product we use as an ingredient in our custard so it was not available at any price. >> reporter: jeff moody is ceo of rita's and said company scrapple told find solutions. instead of treat customers will be eating soft serve ice cream. >> we started to work with our dairy when we knew there was a potential shortage on an alternative backup. >> reporter: bird flu out break had has forced restaurant to raise prices or drop items leaving some customers shell shock. >> i think it is absurd that something so far away could ab affecting rita's especially a place that sells dairy products and things of that

more on a story we brought you at the top of the news contacts a bank robbery that ended with a suspect being shot. "eyewitness news", reporter, alexandria hoff has more. >> 10:18 p.m., panic button at td bank on south york road is pushed, robbery was in progress. >> he entered the bank with a note and in the note it

indicated that if he wasn't delivering money wow start shooting. >> reporter: the teller complied but before police had a chance to respond a boro official, who had been watching outside took off on foot after the fleeing robber. >> we are now in this process of investigating a shooting that occurred, of the suspect. >> reporter: and that brings us here, less than a mile away from the bank to an industry park off of west minister road where police say this boro resident and official shot the robbery suspect twice and held him there until police arrived. >> there was a number of requests for the suspect to get on the ground. he did not comply with that. he was shot. he then got on the the ground. >> reporter: the suspect was hit in the arm and wrist area and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. the first took both suspect and shooter right past the home of dock and ed knight. >> as long as he is licensed

"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao caught up with lloyd at the a airport and has more on the home coming. >> reporter: when carli lloyd stepped off the plane and into philadelphia international airport early wednesday morning, the the cameras were waiting. she didn't expect. that lloyd tells "eyewitness news", but like she knows her life has change. >> when we got to l.a., right away, straight away, at the restaurant i eat at when i got there, they pick up the tab. life has definitely changed for me. i think i have to buck up and get ready for it. >> reporter: that is what happens when you score a historic three goals in the world cup final. >> goal. >> reporter: leading your team to the first championship in 16 years. lloyd is recognized every

where now and even at 2:00 a.m. with very little sleep, she is still happy to sign autographs and take pictures with their growing fan base. >> it is an unbelievable moment. i think it really started to hit me when we got to l.a. and we had that rally with there i with everybody. it has been pretty amazing. >> reporter: fresh off this party, lloyd now looks forward to celebrating with family and friend, her fiance met her at the airport and was one of the first to welcome the champion home. >> she has worked hard and i'm proud of what she has done and i'm happy to see her. it has been a while. >> reporter: but delran new jersey native won't have time to rest, those team u.s.a. bags will be soon packed again this time ready for a victory lab. >> now getting back to philly. i will probably only be here for a day and a half back home and it is a whirlwind roller coaster just riding the wave and enjoying the moment, but still so proud of the team and everybody. it was a moment we will always cherish. >> reporter: no rest for the

the cbs broadcast center. it does than the look too bad. we have a few breaks of blue skies and depending where you are, you are getting heavily rained on, warm, steamy and little bit of unshine. storm scan three showing where heavier rain is right now over south jersey. we have been talking about this all week about how bull's eye will try to develop through the shore points and here it has materialized. toms river ocean county down toward atlantic county getting hit with heavy rain. we will track this for you and tell you how, we have think rain is falling. it is moving in cape may county atlantic county, precipitation rates at a the moment 2.74 inches. that is heavy rain that can lead to quick flooding on the roadways. with many shore towns below or at sea level we will get street flooding very quickly. we will expect this storm to be in egg harbor at 5:31. hitting atlantic city 5:45: 5:53 mystic island before moving off shore. once the sun goes down these storms will fizzle but we have

a couple hearst before that happens. watch out for that heavy rain and lots of lightening strikes right now. you don't want to be out in this if you can avoid it. lightening can strike miles away. even if you are out down the shore, out on the beach atlantic city down toward ocean city, watch out because lightening can strike out ahead of the storm. eighty-one strikes in the past five minutes with that particular cell. temperatures are in the 80's, cooler thanks to the cloud cover and showers that have rolled on through. eighty-two in philadelphia notice rain has dropped that temp in millville to 76. allentown 77. atlantic city airport at 84 degrees. the the dew point, the big story here, dew point is 71. that puts us in the oppressive range. that is why we have so much moisture in the the air. when these storms come through it is like ringing out a sponge and rain comes down heavily. 7:00 p.m. still through shore points but does start to clear out tonight. tomorrow starts out quiet the but watch what happens tomorrow evening. next threat for severe weather. let me show what you happens at 7:00 p.m. look at this line of storms.

i'm jessica dean, here are the day's top stories trading came to a halt late this morning on the new york stock exchange, and officials say an internal computer glitch toys blame for the stoppage, not the a cyber breach, the outage lasted about three hours. united airlines had to temporarily ground all of its flights this morning because of computer problems. delay caused long lines at airports nationwide, and ground stop was lifted after about two hours. and a hatboro town official opens fire shooting a suspect bank robber. that suspect fled and was shot have after robbing a td bank around 10:00 on york road. >> another day another threat

field in south carolina. this video shows members of the air force removing one of the jet's engines from a mobile home and debris strewn across the property. >> cliff cannon witnessed the collision. >> there was an explosion, a lot of black smoke debris falling. >> reporter: the sesna took off from berkley county airport just before 11:00 on its way to myrtle beach. f-16 was heading to charleston from shaw air force base for a training exercise. investigators say at 11:02 the plane's collided at an altitude between two and 3,000 feet, the air force jet broadsiding the smaller plane. >> it came right over the top of us. >> reporter: how close. >> very close. >> it banked to the left and then out and it was just seconds later we heard second boom. >> reporter: air force identified f-16 pilot as major aaron johnson an experienced pilot with 1500 hours of flying. ejected safely and was taken to the nearby hospital where

he he was evaluated and suffered no injuries. omar villafranca for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". fall out continues for embattled comedian bill cosby. disney's hollywood studios theme park has removed his statue at the academy of television arts and sciences hall of fame plaza several months ago a petition called on disney to take it down. cosby has yet to comment on his bomb shell court admission he had obtained drugs with the intent of giving them to women with whom he wanted to have sex. a runaway stroller carrying a child is caught on camera in australia. take a a look at this video from a sidney train station. that stroller rolled right on to the track and the child's grandfather quickly jumped down, got that stroller and 18 month-old out of the way just seconds before a train arrives. the little girl had some cuts and bruises but is expect to be okay. pope francis is wrapping up the first part of his south american tour in ecuador and today thousands of people

microsoft will cut 7800 jobs as it restructure its hardware business. company bought no key a's phone business last year for $7 billion but it never gained ground against iphone and android. news comes one year after microsoft's largest layoff ever that would involve 18,000 employees. a texas woman has won a lawsuit begins time warner cable for excessive robo calls. she received 153robo calls over the the course of the year after an account was opened by someone else with her phone number. she asked the company to stop the calls but they kept calling anyway. a federal judge ordered the company pay the woman nearly $230,000. if you like taco bell, today is probably a good day for you. the restaurant chain is teaming up to begin delivery

atlantic county through cape may county and ocean county as well. this is lining up down the shore. you can see a few showers in montgomery county a and chester county. these are lighter then what we are seeing down the shore. this is heavier rain a along the expressway. this will slow things down, a bit, egg harbor down through the garden state parkway as well. very slow travel and dangerous conditions. there is frequent lightening with this storm and a lot of rain. i wouldn't be surprised to see street flooding in our shore towns, these areas tend to see that when heavy rain comes through because of the proximity of the water and bay. we have island, of course and areas at or below sea level there sigh our next batch moving in the midwest. this will impact us tomorrow. it looks like tomorrow's storms will be stronger then today. today's mainly heavy rain. tomorrow we will add damaging win threats to that as well. twenty-eight right now at the airport. seventy-six thanks to the rain in the atlantic city airport. here's our slight risk for tomorrow. entire area except the shore. that is marginal risk.

look at this rain. this cell moved across cumberland gloucester county and into portion and burlington counties as well producing very heavy rain, scattered showers are converging on the city here. i wouldn't be surprised if we get rain in philadelphia in the next half an hour or so but heavier rain is down the shore. atlantic city, up toward mystic island. look at that red where the indication of heavier rain coming down. frequent lightening long the ac expressway. this is dangerous because a lot of people are down the shore this week a lot of people still on the boardwalk and beach. as these storms stay to the north you can see a strike of lightening down toward strathmere, a avalon, stone harbor. it doesn't have to be right in the center of the storm. stay inside until the threat passes. i do expect that once we start to see the sun goes down, we will see these storms fizzle out and move off shore inn then fall apart through tonight. we have flood advisories extended across south jersey, this goes for portions of cumberland county in, to southern gloucester county, all of the a
