katie and vittoria are keeping an eye on it for you good morning. >> good morning. i didn't do it. >> hey, i didn't either. >> come on, you guys. >> come on katie it is not your fault. >> you're welcome. >> i know, i don't like to have to give you the news that i have to give you sometimes like when we have a major snowstorm i know that most of you don't want to hear about that but we have to tell it like it is. we try to be real here in the eyewitness weather department and give you a sense of exactly what will happen. and that is where we come to give you a a sense how day will unfold and get your day going on out here. at the moment we have a few showers on the tri-state sweep across the western counties and, western valleys poconos region, we did show you that second day off to the west, we will see humidity and moisture and see that heat, build up in advance of it, granted, we will not see, too much sunshine today but we have got heat to work with already and that does mean that the next disturbance on

the way will trigger some stronger thunderstorms. downpours are biggest issue with damaging win and we will see, fresh lightening strikes too. it does look like the timing will be about five to 9:00 p.m. give or take depending on how fast this thing gets in here but in the meantime, we have to a allow for the possibility of some small hail, or even a tornado. it is never a guarantee but atmosphere may be ripe for that to take place. we will keep a watch on it. we want to you also keep it here to cbs-3. we will keep you up to date, and informed obviously as things do start to evolve. for now we are at 77 degrees at philly international. mid to upper 60's in allentown ain't mound poconos area we have rain cooled air up there. we did see a front crossing through, stalling nearby so we are still warm and steamy. further north you go we have a clash going on there. cooler dryer air that will eventually start to move our way. for now watch it for those

storms guys, later in the day, maybe initial showers here and there but up until those other storms start to ignite later on, vittoria. good morning everyone. right now traveling on the majors, traveling on the bridges, it is still so very quiet. we are looking at ben franklin bridge where traveling in either direction is a breeze. traveling from new jersey into philadelphia or reverse is fantastic. in problems, right now. if you are traveling on the majors it is same story. if you are traveling on i-95 this shot here in the too far from center city right around girard. you will notice traveling north or southbound only a handful of vehicles that we're seeing in the shot here, it doesn't matter where we're going, maybe throughout your bucks county area, maybe heading toward trenton maybe heading opposite into delaware county, it is all good and even in delaware. lets go down your checklist right now we are still dealing with some trolleys that will be shuttle busing, they have been experiencing fire department activity in those areas, so be mine full of that. patco will be running new

shooting state senator clementa pinckney who looms large, debate. a black cloth cover his desk. live from the sat center, justin finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". first it was united airlines and then new york stock exchange both hit with technical health downs yesterday that caused chaos. united suffers what it called a network connectivity issue. it affect hundreds of flights with thousands inconvenienced. then trading at insuring stock exchange was down for three and a half hours. wall street journal web site also shut down. cyber security expert at drexel university hopes the stock exchange will learn from what happened. >> i would hope that the publicity that this garnered, international media outlets picked it up, that the stock exchange will use this as an eye opening sort of experience. >> government officials say it does not appear that the incidents were related or as a

result of the sabotage. now, when the closing bell rang yesterday the dow jones lost 261 points ending at 17,515. nasdaq has dropped 87 points and s and p lost 34 points. we will have a live report from wall street coming up in our next half an hour. right now police are looking for a gunman after a deadly shooting in north philadelphia. the shooting happened around 8:30 on the 2900 block of north bailey street. police say that a 24 year-old man was shot multiple times and he was rush to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. police say a private surveillance camera reported part of the shooting and detective are reviewing it new to id the shooter. search is also on for a suspect in the double shooting in frankford police say a 22-year old woman and 31 year old man were shot in the 4600 block of hedge street. investigators say that shooter armed with an assault rifle fired several shots in the victim's home. >> there were nine other

people in the house, at the time and there were seven juveniles, and two other adults. so seven shots fired into that house, with a total of 11 people only two of them are shot. now that is still two that is still a lot but it could have been worse. >> the female victim is in stable condition and male victim is in critical. that shooter left the scene in the white jeep-type vehicle. this morning waldron mercy a academy is responding to the fire of the teacher marge i winter and is there speculation that her sexual orientation cost her her job. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers talk to parents outraged by that decision. >> reporter: marge i winters has been married to her wife since 2007 and she work at waldron mercy academy for about that long until last friday, when parents were sent an e-mail notifying them that the popular director of religious education had been let go. no specific reason was given

but "eyewitness news" has learn when parents at the school had complained about winters sexual orientation. in a statement the school's principal, mel would only say quote to the privilege of calling ourselves catholic we adhere to the teachings of the court but school's policy forbids speaking about personnel decision. that was not good enough for some parents wednesday night many want answers about what prompted the firing. >> i was shocked angry sad. i ran the gamut this weekend. >> reporter: several dozen parents met at jack's firehouse in fairmount with winters in attendance discussing what they plan to do next. some even suggested that they might pull their kid out of the school. they hope to get answers from the ad minute straightors soon about a firing many are calling unjust and hope that it doesn't alter public perception of their community. >> this is not how we're viewed, your children go to waldron mercy that is where they fired this person. that is upset to go all of us. >> reporter: not every parent

western suburbs. it is a beautiful ride. speedensors nice and high in the 50's. we are looking great in the schuylkill. you can access eastbound side of the vine sleet expressway coming from 76. we had earlier police activity closing because of construction. construction will be haunting us for quite sometime, but now traveling on the vine street expressway is not a problem between broad and schuylkill and in the a problem at all traveling around i-95, with the exception that if you are traveling the vine eastbound the ramp to i-95 southbound right lane is block. it is still accessible but right lane will be block. that would i a assume affect more so rush hour then i would right new but is there only a handful of vehicles out there looking at kelly drive outbound at hunting park avenue, the right lane is ongoing, blocked until friday as a result, construction, so be mindful if you have weekend plans for tomorrow, erika. >> thanks, torey. two nfl players are recovering after being severely injured in separate fire works accidents over the fourth of july weekend. cbs news correspondent brian

wild have officialness bergen county removed that 5-foot long, 40-pound alligator from the merky waters of the passaic river yesterday. and, a fisherman spotted the reptile, in elmwood park. officers struggled to capture that gator. they described him as fast and slippery. it took quite an effort. the mayor said he was concerned about residents safety. >> we have a lot of people that come here and they put up their chairs and they fish, and little kid come with their parents. we have had some unusual situations occur here in the past but never this. >> i can see why. wild life officials say that gator may have been somebody's pet that they could not take care of anymore and out grew him. he is now in custody as gaming officials look to find a zoo or educational sent to give it a home. this is i different rescue for philadelphia fire fighters when they stumbled upon on new born kitties outside their firehouse. fire department tweeted this picture of the four kittens born in the bushes at engine seven, ladder zero, on kensington avenue in juniata
