unbearable just yet. here's what to expect through today, 9:00 o'clock temperatures in the 07's. heating up, 85 and by the late afternoon we're talking about 91 for the the high. mid 80's at the shore and then the seven day forecast in a few minutes. nicole back to you. police are investigating a a homicide in north philadelphia a man was found shot in the 3400 block of prowl street that man was shot multiple times in the torso and bloody footprints were left at the scene. there is no details on the shooter but there are reports that the gold van was seen fleeing the area. police are investigating another homicide this one is a grays ferry neighborhood. investigators telling us that 35 year-old man was shot in the head sitting in the playground. shooting happened in the 1200 block of south 30th street before 2:00. he died at the scene. search continues for a man who sexually assaulted a woman on the philadelphia golf

"eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson has the latest on that investigation. >> reporter: on a sunny saturday afternoon it is hard to imagine a place like this could ever be a crime scene. >> it is disturbing to hear that news obviously. >> reporter: hours earlier it looked like this, philadelphia police are on the scene on the cobbs creek golf clubs after allegation of a heinous act. here a 26 year-old woman reported being sexually assaulted early saturday morning. report says that the woman was walking to work at 3:30 saturday morning south on cardington street when she passed a man walking in the opposite direction. police say that the man spins around, gets behind her, grabs her arm and drugs her on to the course behind a line of trees where at salt took place. >> when you hear a story like this, it makes you kind of thing. >> reporter: half ton resident kevin calvert brought his to sons to the course. he calls the crime terrible

township. meanwhile four people are recovering after a boat ran a ground near long beach island. happened shortly before 2:00 in the south end of the island. police say 593-foot boat had 13 people on board at the time. of the four injured a woman was flown to the hospital by hell cooperator with head injuries. and it is not clear right now a what cause that had incident. it the is official, former sixers first round pick joel embiid is expect to miss next season. story broke saturday that embiid will in miss the season because he needs a second surgery on his injured right foot. sixers said that embiid did have a setback. of course, sixers general manager sam hinkie released this statement saying quote a collective decision has been made that the best a approach to promote full healing, would be to proceed with a bone graft of the fracture side. we anticipate the will take place in the next 20710 days and result in joel missing the upcoming season. we will have more on this coming up in sports. right now 106th annual

naacp national convention is underway in philadelphia. on its opening day sat the day, the civil rights organization ends its the 15 year economic boycott of south carolina that move comes a day after lawmakers removed the confederate flag from state house grounds. officials kick off the convention with the ribbon cutting yesterday at the pennsylvania convention center. after hundreds of attended the industry show. theme is pursuing unity in the the face of injustice. our cherry greg will have a live report on the commencement coming up in 30 minutes. well, donald trump defend his comments about mexican immigrant while on the campaign trail. he spoke at two events in the southwest, region in the center of the immigration debate. trump lost business deals and drawn fire from the g.o.p. collogues but he is gaining ground in the polls. cbs news correspondent kenneth

a beach in rhode island is set to reopen after a mysterious explosion knocks it to the ground. as our reporter tells us officials found no evidence of the explosive device. >> reporter: agents sifted through sand autosled i brine state beach. >> we heard a baboom but it sound like a bomb. >> i can tell from you personally witnessing the site there appears to have been some ground disturbance here. there are fractures in the wet sand, gaps that occurred, something like would you see when lightening hits a beach. is there definitely something that happened there. >> reporter: bomb squad and fire marshall office leads the investigation. the department of environmental management officials say around 11:00 15a 911 call poured in from beach goers thinking that they saw

and heard an explosion. and then this "eyewitness news" picture captured what appears to be victim being carried away from victim to the hospital. and the woman who was in her 60's was conscious and alert after she was thrown three to 5 feet from her beach chair. they say she landed face down on the jetty rocks. >> the person was sitting in the chair up against the the break point or at the tides line. the sand, directly in front basically erupted. >> reporter: meanwhile dozens evacuate stateside of the beach as a k-9 snifs the area searching for clues. dem says no bomb residue or shrapnel has been found. >> this incident took place between high and low tides marks so it was in a wet area of sand. there was some type of noise some type of energy transferring. we have no evidence or indication there was a a device. this could be natural it could be manmade at this point it is still under investigation. >> reporter: that was candy lamb reporting.

it is what you can expect. we will talk about wet weather returning to the forecast over next few days. that is not happening anytime soon as we are's under influence of high pressure under the delaware valley. nice and clear. the is there a cluster of showers and storms out here near cincinnati. cloud will be streaming eastward later this afternoon. that brings us sunshine today. you'll notice higher cloud by late morning into the afternoon. here's the temperatures, kind of like yesterday morning. lower 60's in the cool are spots to 70 degrees here in philadelphia, and then that surrounding areas north and west, look at that, not really that bad 69, 73. we are not sitting in the heat, just yet, so that will change over the next 24 to 48 hours. so talk about our rain chances. not happening today. we have a zero. tomorrow maybe a 20 percent chance and a lot of it will be later during the the day. tuesday is our best shot to see some more rain, and showers, and even a few thunderstorms. some could linger into early
