good morning jill. >> good morning, anne-marie. it appears that for the third time in five years greece has narrowly avoided bankruptcy. they have agreed to quote, serious reforms and financial support for greece. an german chancellor angela merkel says trust is needed to be built. as talks stretched beyond the deadline, the country was nearing financial request. they had requested a bailout funds. they had rejected strict austerity measures in a referendum last week. banks running low on cash were forced to close and limit withdrawals to $60 a dale. prime minister alexis tsipras was taking a hard line accusing creditors of accepting blackmail. the new deal will likely include pension cuts tax hikes, and

cuts to public spending. anne-marie. >> jill wagner at the new york stock exchange. of course jill will be back a little bit later with the rest of today's ees'ses by business headlines. thanks a lot, jill. its bangs have been on the verge of collapse. holly williams is in athens with how greek citizens have been surviving the crisis. >> reporter: greece's economy has been brought to its knees, and its people are suffering. luke everyone else here for two weeks now, christina has only been able to withdraw around $60 a day from cash machines. how are you going to survive without money? >> the people from the village will send tomatoes potatoes. we'll have another kind of economy where people exchange their things. >> reporter: greece's creditors, chiefly germany and france have already bailed it out twice in the last five years with loans

of over $250 billion, but greece has never recovered from the financial crisis of 2008. a quarter of its work-force is unemployed. in return for an extended bailout, greece's creditors demanded tax hikes and cuts to peks and public spending. greek officials walked out of negotiations last month and greece's radical leftwind prime minister accused international creditors of blackmailing his country. but facing financial collapse last week he was forced into a humiliating backdown agreeing to nearly all of the creditors' demands in return for a new bailout, abail bailout of $60 billion. last week he was told they wouldn't let the country go

bankrupt because that would trigger losses throughout the world. holly williams cbs news athens. for more than 60 days negotiators have struggled over the program. hena daniels is tracking details in washington. hena, good morning. >> good morning anne-marie. while the deal is being worked out it's expected to. packet long-term deal with iran. it's been extended three times after the june 30th deadline was missed. with five other world powers appear poised to reach a historic deal to curb iran's nuclear program in exchange for sanctions release. secretary of state john kerry is working with top diplomats

locked in marathon meetings in vienna where they continue to review a 100-page provisional agreement. among the final sticking points whether to faze out an arms embargo that blocks iran from buying missiles and weapons and their atomic development beyond the first decade of a deal. if a deal is approved by iranian leaders and president obama, congress has 60 days to assess it. >> i know there will be a strong pull not to go against the president on something as important as this is to him, but i hope there will be enough democrats willingly to look at this. >> bob menendez remains skeptical but will not rule out his report. >> we have to make clear there's a deterrence in the long term. and secretary kerry has now been

out of the country on this mission longer than any secretary of state in more than 30 years. anne-marie? >> hena daniels in washington. thank you, hena. a widespread manhunt is under way right now in mexico for a renowned and dangerous drug lort. joaquin joaquin "el chapo" guzman has escaped. >> reporter: the last time he escaped from prison he was on the run for 13 years. now the hunt for joaquin el chapo guzman is under way. mexican authorities say the escape tunnel had ventilation lighting, and rail system to transport tools and dirt. it ran 30 feet under ground from a house under construction a mile away and emerged just below

a shower area in inside the chapel. mexico's president is vowing they will recapture him. he's responsible for 34,000 deaths. he's responsible for supplying heroine and cocaine to the u.s. >> he'll turn that jail into his country club. >> reporter: it is the second time guzman has escaped from a mexican prison. the first was in 2001 when he allegedly slipped away in a laundry cart with help from prison guards. >> it's been since 2001 if not before. the government helped engineer his last escape in 2001 and he also knows a lot so they don't want him talking to american

"i told you so" was trump's twitter. lindsey gra ma'am said trump's thoughts on the mexican government and immigrants do not reflect the thoughts of all. >> we do not agree when he says most immigrants are drug dealers and rapists. this is a hard problem and needs to be solved but most of these people are decent hard-working folks coming from poor countries to try to improve their lives. >> graham says trump is a wrecking ball for the republican party and the field of republican presidential candidates is about to grow again. wisconsin governor scott walk ler kick off his campaign today. he has gained notoriety for taking on labor unions and

surviving a 2012 recall event. powerful and dangerous thunderstorms are making their way toward the midwest today. rain soaked a number of areas already. floodwaters and nearly submerged cars in part of ohio and in kentucky a dozens floodwater rescues. julie martin of the weather channel shows us the threat. >> if we look at the future models, we do see them start to organize as they get into southern indiana and kentucky possibly even forming what we call a derecho. and that's a strong line of storms that can produce winds, even producing hurricane force. they actually killed 28 people and cold front close to 3$3 billion in damage. the threat is certainly there from chicago to cincinnati

overshadowed by controversial immigration comments by donald trum whop is running for president. on the "cbs moneywatch," gas prices drop. jill wagner is at the new york stock exchange with that story and more. good morning, jill. >> good morning, anne-marie. last week the dow was up 29 points, the s&p 500 lost a fraction, the nasdaq lost 12. asian stocks finished higher. the shanghai hung seng jumped more than 3%. the big three automakers open up negotiations today. many workers want to scrap a two-tier wage system where new hires make less. they've added tens of thousands of factory jobs since 2011. the lundberg survey says the average price fell two cents to $2.83 per gallon.

last year roger federer, djokovic won in four set, 7-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3. in baseball, there's a new leader in the a.l. west. the los angeles angels routed seattle last night, 10-3. chris iannetta hit a two-run home run and david freese hid a 2-1 double. it was their 11th win in 14 games and moves them a half a game ahead of houston. and in pittsburgh the pirates rally for an extra-inning win over st. louis. gregory polanco had the winning hit with two outs in the tenth inning lifting pittsburgh to a 6-5 win over the cards. the pirates won in 14 innings saturday and now trail st. louis in the n.l. central by 2 1/2 games.

it ooh tess second time he has escaped npz escaped escaped. in new jersey a plane made an emergency landing. it took off with student drivers sunday morning. the pilot was able to make a safe landing on a grassy median on route 72 and there were no injuries. >> off the coast of massachusetts, rescuers set free a humpback whale that was tangled in a rope as a shark attacked saturday. julianna goldman reports on this dramatic rescue. >> reporter: a teenage whale had a rope stuck in its mouth that was wrapped around its tail unable to help itself against. >> we've never had a shark around us. >> reporter: the 15-foot shark was still circling when they discovered the whale floating a
