and we have a special guest in the studio. misha, she will be here on monday. traveling on i-95, i-95 is just comfortable right now same as the weather, traffic and weather going hand and hand. this is construction zone notice cones set up here so compromising things, narrowing the lanes. if you are traveling i-95 it is not causing a problem yet but will at rush hour and fine the same problem up ahead at girard avenue. if you are traveling i-95 in and out of the center city but throughout delaware county, it is all good. we will go to the ben franklin bridge where as we travel in either direction there is no delays, or there are no delays from new jersey into pennsylvania and in reverse bridges are moving smoothly. speed sensors high up in the 50's. do you event have anything to worry about just yet. we have an accident traveling horsham road at walnut avenue a one lane block so be mindful of. that traveling mass transit there are no delays, erika. >> torey, thank you. check this out surveillance video here

catches what philadelphia police call a home invasion attempt in mt. airy. you can see these guys never get past the door because the home owner didn't know them. but now philadelphia police hope that this video will help catch these four suspects. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us from northwest detectives to tell us more about it, justin, good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning. yes, common sense in this case may have saved this victim's life. police are hoping that video as you are mentioning will help them track down that four suspects that gave that man quite a scare. let's show you the video and tell you the story here. thinks thursday in the west mt. airy on the 500 block of burner roth this starts with the knock on the door. the victim does open up the door and then he is ambushed by two men both armed, one has a sawed off shotgun. the vick them then slams that door shut as two more arm men charge their way toward that door. now, all four men armed men try to force their way inside this house.

they don't make it because the victim has kept him outside instead they leave the scene fleeing on foot, in an unknown direction. as you you can see so far the video in this case will be crucial to tracking down these four men and some neighbors are now considering getting their own security cameras. lets take a listen. >> it is not a bad idea not something i really thought would i need here but maybe i was wrong. >> reporter: so, perhaps it may pay off for that neighbors and others in that case. they are hoping to not see those men again but if they dough they want to be ready. another look at these suspects for you, they are four men police believe, they are in their 20's or 30's in this case. again, all four are armed video very clear in in case. if you recollect knees these men or seen them police advise you not to approach them but instead police a call at 911. we are live from northwest detectives i'm justin finch for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". erika and nicole. >> thank you for that.

a man is fighting for his life after he was shot the multiple times in philadelphia's grays ferry section. that shooting happened late last night at 26th and dickinson streets. police found a shotgun at the scene and spent shell casings as well from the handgun indicating two shooters. authorities say that they are working to gather video from surveillance cameras that were pointed in the direction of the shooting. >> well, former president george hw bush is waking up in the hospital in maine this morning after falling down in his home. the forty-first president broke and bone in his neck after yesterday's fall. now his spokesmen tweeted that bush is fine but he will to have wear a neck brace. bush has ought form of parkinson's that requires him to use a execute tore get around. at 91 years old he is the oldest living former president. happening today, new jersey governor chris christie is focusing on criminal justice during a visit to camden. he will reportedly call forgiving non-violent drug offenders a better shot at rebuilding their lives while

keeping violent criminals off the the street. christie will visit hope hall that has a correctional treatment program for adult male offenders. reforming the criminal justice system was a ongoing theme at 106th annual naacp convention here in philadelphia it wrapped up yesterday with remarks from u.s. attorney general loretta lynch. she too addressed the criminal justice system, also speaking former president bill clinton. he spoke about his regret for signing the 1994 violent crime control act calling federal sentences too lengthy. >> the federal law set a trend and that was overdone. we were wrong about that. that percentage we were wrong about. >> now clinton did defend some of the positive elements of the bill, as well. he says he signed it because of a decades long rise in crime when he took office. the obama administration is intensifying its campaign to convince democrats to support landmark nuclear deal with iran.

just one day after meeting with house democrats vice-president joe biden will make the case to democrats in the senate. the as cbs correspondent hanna daniels report the meeting follows president obama's press conference in which he fearsly defended that agreement. >> vice-president joe biden head to capitol hill today to meet with democrats on the senate foreign relations committee. the as he continues to lobby support for the iran nuclear deal. president obama is asking lawmakers on both side to read the 100 page document first and then judge the deal on its merits. >> my hope is that everyone in congress also evaluates this agreement based on the facts not on politics, not on posturing. >> reporter: ahead of the two month review of the deal, many republicans are already threatening to vote begins lifting sanction as begins iran. >> nothing is more important to the world then for 23rd of this congress to repudiate

residents turned to "eyewitness news" after they say the city ignored calls about these huge, dangerous holes. now this one hole on kind street, it opened up about six weeks ago. one resident said that she

hurt herself in it and she plans to sue. another neighbor say he blew out a tire and damage his car driving over it. joseph oldman sent this picture for us, coming up in a minute, standing in the hole. he sent this picture to the city. >> i figured, that would get my point across, to the streets department. >> i mean the kid on kind street could fall in the hole and be sucked in. >> now two blocks away on crystal street one hole has a neighbor frustrated a as well. that one city officials tell thaws they will put barricade around both holes and work to figure out exactly what caused them. smoking could soon be banned at philadelphia housing authority properties. board members are expect to vote on i plan to prohibit smoking outside designated smoking areas. pha is largest landlord in pennsylvania. agency owns 14,000 properties where 80,000 people, live. columbia's military has released video they say shows

bound traffic being your head lights there. in delays in either direction just yet. usually we don't see a rush hour until 6:00 o'clock or 6:15. so really it is all good in the garden state. if you are traveling not only on the 42, but ac x garden state parkway 295, new jersey turnpike really, it is fantastic. we're moving now to 476 the blue route, if you are traveling in either direction this shot here not too far from the area of route one. it is great. in delays around 95 schuylkill or mid county toll plaza. so all and all a great start to your morning commute hopefully, it continues to be this nice, throughout rush hour but i doubt it. as of right now unfortunately in the yardley section we have an accident on north main street near west ahton avenue all block lane and we have down wires in this area if you can try to maneuver around it or if you are watching us right now give yourself more time before you leave the the house no delays for mass transit. things at the airport are just fine vittoria. well drivers enjoy falling gas prices and they have another reason to be happy this morning f you

regularly drive between new jersey and pennsylvania, you can save some money on tolls. the delaware river port authority approved a commuter discount on the ben franklin, walt whitman, betsy ross and commodore barry bridge. e-z pass holders who drive over the bridge 18 times a in will get an 18-dollar credit on the their account. that is $200 a year. look for that credit in the next three months. but it is not all good news for commuters. is there always a catch. new jersey transit voted to raise fares by 9 percent for bus and rail riders. we warned you it was coming yesterday and now it is official. this is the agency's first fare increase in five years look for those higher ticket prices starting in october. erika. frightening case of road rage in arizona and a motorcyclist captured it all on his helmet camera. watch as the angry driver, shoved the driver on the met or cycle and shafts the female passenger this started when the motorcyclist cut off the other driver.

on the healthwatch this morning, excessive use of your smart phone may actually signal a mental health issue. researchers from northwestern university found that the more time you spend on your smart phone the more likely you are depressed. they say average daily phone usage for depressed people is 68 minutes. only 17 minutes for
