shows up for a free concert from the rapper future. captioning funded by cbs this is thesis the "cbs morning news" for friday july 24th 2015. good morning. thanks for joining us. i'm alison harmelin in for anne-marie green. in the words of one witness, how does this kind of thing keep happening. a man entered a meefb theater and started shooting. when it was over three were killed and nine others injured. the violence started 20 minutes into the screening of the comicdycomicedy "train wreck." he shot two people directly in front of him. collin was sitting in the same row as the shooter just a few feet away. >> he was standing up just

shooting at the whole crowd for who knows what. so i jumped from the top of the railing down because i did not want to walk in his path down the stairs to get out so i thought my best option was to jump. they're trying to figure out what caused the gunman to go on this deadly rampage. >> reporter: a state police bomb squad was called to the scene of the theater. the police evacuated the area and warned people nearby they would hear explosions. >> out of an abundance of precaution we wanted to make sure there were no devices. we blow up a suspicious package. no explosive devices were found. >> reporter: law enforcement says the shooter was a 58-year-old male alone when he

actions were cruel enough to come up with the death penalty. the sentencing phase of his trial could last up to a month. two federal inspectors general are reportedly asking the justice didn't to open a criminal investigation of hillary clinton. at issue is whether clinton handled sensitive information on her private e-mail account when she was secretary of state. "the new york times" says they believe clinton's accounts contained hundreds of classified e-mails. she has said there were none. the justice didn't has not decided if it will open an investigation. he was there to talk about immigration, a subject that's key to his campaign saying mexico is sending its criminals across the border. john champion reports from laredo. >> reporter: donald trump

louisiana, last night. he killed two people and injured nine others before taking his leaf. police say he was a 58-year-old who acted alone. it's unclear why he started shooting. >> inspectors general have requested an investigation of clinton's private e-mail. they believe the account contained hundreds of potentially classified e-mails. in sports a drug test for cyber athletes. the electronics sports league will start testing next month. the esl didn't say which drugs were banned. last week for a team competing in a $250,000 tournament admitted team members used adderall. it's normally used to treat attention disorder and sharpen the focus of its users. in baseball kershaw reached
