not too far to see tough to see looking at dark sky but thunderstorms currently moving through the area, and that's what we will show you next here, as we take you on out to our satellite and radar here. so, taking a look, looking all the way back to yesterday now, into the early morning hours, this is definitely been a very heavy round of showers thunderstorms moving through lot of frequent lightning biggest issue heavy rain. couple of flood warnings and advisories to tell you becomes most notably across in the green shaded areas here through portions of delaware, southwestern new jersey, you have got flood advisories for the heavy rain currently moving through although it is primarily just lingering showers at this point in the poke note, flashflood warning is still in effect until 5:30 this morning for carbon, portions of monroe county. that's where you will have the biggest issues in terms of flooding waters here this morning, but thankfully appears, some of these will starting to out of effect sooner rather than later. it looks like the second half of the morning drive should get better. currently temperatures stands

so it will be slippery, rain still coming down for most of you, when you travel this, mo, give yourself couple of extra minutes, as you know when we get into the rush hour it will be busy. looking at the schuylkill westbound, before montgomery drive, these travelers moving in the eastbound direction these traveling moving in the westbound direction eastbound picking up little bit. overall just wet busy already monday morning. erika, over to you. >> meisha, thank you. man who police say stabbed his wife and daughter sit behind bars this morning. forty-one year old steven burton pick up in maryland. he is now being questioned by investigators. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us at northwest detective with the latest details justin, good morning. >> erika, good morning steven burton had been on the run since overnight sunday. by late sunday night he was found in maryland. taken into police custody without incident, we are told. let's show you burton now you mention, he is 41 years old last seen leaving his home in

a 2012 burgundy honda accord, fleeing the scene, neighbor said, of violent dispute at his home on the 1900 block of dallas street in west oaklane. that neighbor said that once burton left home he had just stabbed his 37 year old wife and one year old daughter. she said she heard arguing between the couple just before the knife attack, and she said she arrived to find that mother with several stab wounds to her chest and arm and with a little energy, she had left, that mother told the neighbor, she said, to check on her baby upstairs, and that's where she found that baby bleeding heavily from her stomach. neighbor said she was afraid whatever she found when she raised over to help. take a listen. >> we have been neighbors for four years and they argue and they fight but yesterday it was just like this is not normal. the way she was screaming was not normal. and she was screaming to the point that i'm shocked that i'm the only one that heard her. i'm just -- that's how loud she was screaming. when she opened the door i

could tell why she was screaming, she was cut in her chest, like i said, her arms probably had like i can't even say, but her arm was just sliced all open. >> as you heard that neighbor still very shaken about what she saw overnight on sunday. that neighbor also says couple has four year olson who somehow remained asleep during that conflict. that mother was taken to einstein medical center. the baby girl at saint christoff earth's both listed as critical condition at this time. and no word yet on charges for burton or if he is back in the philadelphia area. but we do know the community is supporting this family at this time. the mother was a teen mother, for the olney football team, on the facebook page they are posting prayers for them at this time. police of course still investigating here in philadelphia. we are live outside northwest detective, justin finch cbs-3, "eyewitness news" erika? >> thank you for. that will stay with "eyewitness news" as the story develops. we'll have the latest for you on air and on line at

cbsphilly.com. >> meanwhile, police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run in juniata park. it happened around 10:30 last night at the intersection every east luzerne and i streets. two people were hit in the car that was hit. one of those victims died in the hospital. police have reported the vehicle of the suspect, how much, that driver responsible they are still on the loose. >> also, new this morning residents are evacuated after fire rips through apartment building in pennsauken, new jersey. that fire broke out just before midnight, on the third floor inside the cooper river plaza apartments. residents say they could see smoke on the 14th floor. one firefighter was injured there is no details right now on the extent of the injury, though. happening today, a brief trial set to begin foreman accused of robbing and killing person who answered craigslist ad for t atv. thomas coffee accused of murdering daniel cook as he look over the vehicle in a all way in west oaklane in 2013. prosecutors are expected to

argue that coffee shot cook in the face, in a dispute over money. >> also, happening today funerals will be held for the two women killed in the louisianna theater shooting. meanwhile, we have some new details for you on exactly how that gunman spent his final hours. in this surveillance video it, shows 59 year old john howser leaving a hotel in lafayette. this is less than hour before he opened fire killing two people and injuring nine before turning the gun on himself. one witness recalls the traumatizing moment in the theater. >> ten rounds went off when i realized you know, six seventh rounds, i drop, i am looking at him because i know guns, i said he is reloading. so i screamed to everybody he's reloading get the hell out of here now. >> authorities are still looking for a motive. >> later today, the boy scout of america will reverse long standing policy of banning gay boy scout leaders.

controversy this morning with gop presidential candidate mike huckabee after he likens the iranian nuclear deal to the holocaust. the former arkansas governor is standing beside his comments after he compared the iran deal to, quote, marching the israelis to the door of the oven. dnc chair woman debbie wasserman shultz blasted kuk a bee, caught his statement grossly irresponsible. meanwhile, republican candidate, no stranger to controversy, now leading the pack. in a newly-released cnn pole, 18% of republicans surveyed said they want donald trump to be the nominee for president. some republicans though, calling for the celebrity businessman to drop out of the race. but, trump says, the polls show he's a serious contender. >> really is outsider, i guess, now starting to view me not as outsider because i am leading in all the polls. >> in the same cnn polls 40%

that's what we are expecting once again here today. so while this is the brunt of it still going to see shower, still going to see thunderstorm in spots before this soul said and done, then high pressure will be building down for us for couple of days. what's interesting, is that this frontal boundary, it is a cold front won't live at all to it actual name. in fact it, actually will heat up from here, looking forward in the forecast. so building heat, building humidity regardless of the fact you are still going to find some scattered showers and storms today talking mid 80s, very typical overall for dame time highs. once the front costs -- crosses through, high pressure will be here. here we go again billing back up with the heat, humidity, keep it going on wednesday then another frontal boundary that will be off in the days tans here, waiting in the wings for the up coming thursday time frame. there is what we are looking ahead to. meantime rain, coming down locally heavy again few showers, perhaps thunderstorm to fire up at some point throughout the day. hi 86, drop down to 72

schuylkill expressway all lanes blocked, now since opened, so you can get around in the area. but just so you know, it is very wet out there. i'll show you a map so i can give you wide view of where it is. here is the schuylkill expressway again 26th street northbound, where we are seeing a loft pockets but since cleared, you are free to maneuver about in that area right now just now it will be like this this morning we have to deal with this this monday morning here is a look at 95 southbound, cottman avenue, for those of you trying to make your way into center city, see the red cone zone in place on the roadway then the blue route southbound mid-county toll plaza, looking nice out there traveling posted speeds, just wet, give yourself couple of extra minutes, katie over to you, it is a wet one. >> certainly is. we have very heavy rain actually currently falling mere, a specially across southwestern new jersey into portions of delaware, if that's where your travels take you, listen up, a sense of what's happening out on the area radar as we speak and sense of what you can expect. i would keep umbrella on stand by, even though across

to up rain, lightning too, katie and meisha keeping an eye on stormy details for us. >> good morning, all good things, they must come to an end, katie. this is what we're dealing with right now. >> it is what they say. >> yes flooding already this morning, too. >> i'm sure this will be one of those mornings where the flooding definately becomes issue for folks trying to travel. so yes. definitely want to check the traffic in a second here a sense of how things are shaping up here when it comes to where the heaviest pockets every rain are currently located. and, looking first and for most here, just view of storm scan3, this is just good snapshot. you know, with the tri-state sweep, single snapshot of the frame of what is happening right now. heaviest rain clearly through the southeastern half of our area, just because we are seeing things sort of taper off at least initially here across portions every berks county, lancaster county, i don't want you to get too comfortable just yet guys, looks as though the front will have some time to killing before completely fizzled away. so that may still lead to shower thunderstorm, because
