radar sites finding heaviest rain currently falling, down through central southern delaware especially through southern portions of new jersey. so even though it looks like you are starting to clear things out here, across some of the north and most suburbs chester, montgomery, bucks county, don't get too comfortable this. because this frontal boundary granted the heaviest whatever we see today there is front isn't totally done with us just yet. needs some time before it will completely clean itself out and clear itself out. so meantime, we talk about the initial issues then we go through the rest of the day flood advisory still posted for another say 14 minutes or so. through the west and southwestern corridor basically here of the garden state. so the heaviest of the rain that's come owing through as these continue to update, we'll let you know, around the region as a whole, still see shower, thunder storm today. granted anything that does come through for the rest of the after innocent would be scattered in nature, because there is so much moisture to work, with cue get doused. be ready for the possibility. meantime looking forward if the nor cast, yes cold front

slow downs right now, but whenever we have one lane block, just make a note as you move out this morning also, construction delaware memorial bridge one lane blocked in both directions, the northbound side, the right lane blocked cell phone side, left lane blocked the schuylkill, at city avenue, moving in the westbound direction, look at this, actually looking real good. all the things considering especially given the fact that it is moving into the 6:00 hour now. so we will of course see levels build in this area. but in this area, so far so good. erika, over to you. >> meisha, thank you. new this morning philadelphia police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run. it happened around 10:30 last night at the intersection of east luzerne and i streets in juniata. two people were in the car that was hit. one died at the hospital. police have recovered the vehicle of the suspect however, the driver responsible remains at large. >> residents evacuated after five rips through their apartment build fire broke out before midnight third floor inside the cooper river plaza apartment. residents tell us, that fire

alarms had gone off in the building recent lip, so they first thought it was just another false alarm. >> and by the time we got to the stairs, smoke was everywhere in the stairwell. we got down the second floor, probably the heaviest, and so i mean, at least got out here safe. >> firefighter was injured fight that blaze. we're told that we are working right now to find out how he is doing. residents still wait to go get back inside their building. >> right now mother and daughter remain in critical condition after being stabbed inside their home. this morning the woman's husband is in police custody being questioned by detectives. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us now northwest detectives with the latest details justin? >> erika, good morning steven burton had been on the run for hours sunday, until his capture late sunday night in maryland by police, and he has remained in police custody ever since. let's get you now to video of steven burton, it was neighbor who tell us that she saw him leaving his home, on the 1900

block of dallas street in west oaklane. overnight, on sunday, she said she saw burton get into his car, a burgundy honda and flea the scene. >> this after stabbing, she said his 37 year old wife and one year old daughter, after a very loud argument that she overheard. this neighbor said she went over to check on the couple. she found that mother bleeding at the front door urging her to go upstairs and check on the couple's one year old daughter whom she found bleeding from her stomach in her crib. in a neighbor said she had to go but afraid whatever she would find when she raised over next-door to help. take a listen. >> we've been neighbors for four years. and they argue, and they fight, but yesterday it was just like this is not normal. the way she was screaming was not normal. and she was screaming to the point that i'm shocked that i'm the only one that heard her. i'm just -- that's how loud she was screaming. and when she opened the door i could tell why she was screaming because she was cut in her chest like i said, her

arms probably had like -- i can't even say but her arm was just sliced all open. >> and a very gruesome site that neighbor encounter she went over to help that family. she said the couple also has four year old son who was not hurt. she assumes was asleep during the entire time. the mother now recovering at einstein, little girl over at st. christopher. at last check both in critical condition. at this time no word yet on any charges for steven burton. we are live from northwest detective, justin finch cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> justin, thank you for that. >> this morning we have update on story we first told but last night. six tube verse been loath kade -- located. the six went missing yesterday on the delaware river in bucks county. rescue crews spent several hours last night searching the delaware between riegelsville and washington crossing for that missing group. police have not released any details about exactly how they

disappeared. president obama is in ethiopia this morning holding talks with leaders and talking about the civil war in south suddan. obama is the first us president to visit the country. today he'll address the african union. this is the president's second leg of the his african tour he spent two days in kenya, calling for greater human rights within the nation. happening today, a historic move from the boy scout of america. the group expected to ratify resolution lifting a ban in open lay gay troop leaders. >> this comes as thousands of bow scouts head to the world scout jamboree this week, henna daniels reports from new york. >> today the boy scouts of america executive committee expected to ends its long standing ban on gay troop leaders. that is decision zach walls is proud of. the eagle scout was raised by two moms. >> it means an organization that i love, and of which i have been a member since i was, you know, circumstances years old, taking another step

black males, they say entered the back of the home. police say that those men fled the scene in a unknown direction. philadelphia police are searching for the vandals responsible for slashing more than dozen tires in queen village. it happened on the 800 block of swan son street, and the 100 block of queen street. a total of 18 tires were vandalized, some vehicles with more than one tire slashed. neighbors say, it is a surprise for the area. >> first time something like this happened in this neighborhood. i'm upset about it, my daughter was here overnight. her car wasn't toughed. i feel badly for these people. >> police are using surveillance video from nearby homes in their investigation. >> 6:13 right now some heavy rain lightning overnight katie is tracking those storms, and do you think the to will last the whole day katy? >> looks like them ' come through in scattered variety brunt whatever we saw at least in philadelphia, erika started to progress off the southeast, that's yes want to

for little fieldtrip on friday. >> o beautiful beautiful weather last week, and of course we have to add a curve ball. but yes, did i visit septa. let me tell you, it was great. i've been here digging in and get to go meet the important people who keep this beautiful city running. so last week, i toured the septa commands center, of course the nerve center for all of septa. there are plenty every eyes helping you get around town. let me tell you i mean, it is really big inside, and they see everything, every move, everybody makes. they've got their eyes on you. >> they have their own police station, k9's. yes,. >> bigger than you thought it would be? >> way bigger. and i didn't know they could literally see every detail. they know different units for everything. so they know every single thing going on at all times t makes sense. but you forget. >> we got our eye on you.

>> i have to keep my eye on the roads as well, things looking good, 6:00 hour when we of course things get busy. good news, only had one crash of the morning. we also right now ill pull your attention to this, downed tree. this is perhaps one of the biggest things we're keeping our eyes on right now at falls bridge, there is police activity on scene. so just keep that in mine, you will not be able to get by this that area, in the early 5:00 hour, it will cause some slow downs, starting to see that just little bit. because it casino every sneaks up on you right around this bend. now, this is 95 northbound, on the ramp to the blue route. you can see the flashing headlight, pulled out to the shoulder not in any driving lanes, but certainly make note that far if your take that route any time soon. it doesn't seem to be moving off that roadway. so blue route northbound at

some terrifying moments for guest in the las vegas huge fire breaks out inside the cosmo political continue hotel. witnesses say that one of

the further northwest you travel, starting to clear out. but not out of the woods. that's the thing i want to hammer home here. dow think you want to keep the umbrella on stand by, even though the brunt of the front, still going to have enough moisture to work, with still going to have the wherewithall to see shower or thunderstorm fire up. could still be locally heavy through the rest of the day today. seventy-one the current temperature, meanwhile at the airport in at six a mount pocono. and as the days progress, take a look at what happens. yes, cold front, what's going on here? why are we heating up? the way the atmosphere will pan out this time. that's all there is to it. surge of heat, humidity, builds for us by mid week. we are forecasting an area heatwave here, looking ahead to the middle part of the week so, that definitely is going to be showing up in our area headlines. from now though, unsettled beginning to the work week. specially for now. down the shore through delaware, but we will see few more showers thunderstorms fire up on the radar. hazy hot humid for tomorrow. and wednesday, for that matter, and as i mention, we are looking at the potential for heatwave here in the delaware valley for mid week. so, keeping an eye on the temperatures as well. meantime, meisha, i know you

have had flooding issues on the roads so far? >> we certainly have. so i guess right now i just want to make a note, give yourself couple of extra minutes, headed toward the rush hour it, have flooding earlier, right now it doesn't seem to be such an issue however, with that being said, roads are very, very slick. so again give yourselves couple of extra minutes. we have transformer fire in east norriton, i guess the transformer fire has caused the top of utility pole to come down, dekalb pike is closed at twp. line road. so definitely want to use alternate like swede road. again, this is ands tram for fire, you certainly want to give yourself couple of extra minute in that area. also mlk closed at falls bridge, just make note of that. police are on site, diverting traffic, all lanes closed, definately take alternate like kelly drive or the schuylkill expressway, as well. soap you're if the going to be able to get by for any of you moving toward the direction, take that alternate. seventy-six westbound schuylkill expressway, moving in the westbound direction heading toward city avenue,

these are 35 out of the 46 women who say bill cosby sexually assaulted them. it is the latest cover story by new york magazine, one that quickly crashed the mag even's website overnight. the feature is entitled cosby the women unwelcome sisterhood, one by one they tell their stories, new york magazine post to go it twitter, beverly johnson's account, quote, the part of it i wasn't prepared for was the onslaught of women that have been assaulted anthem telling me their story because i told mine. then, there is barbara bowman's experience, who says she was assaulted by cosby other course of years. she says i felt like a prisoner, i felt like i was kidnapped, and hiding in plane site. i could have walk down any street in manhattan at any time and said: i'm being raped and drugged by bill cosby but who the hell would have believed me? nobody. tamara green allegedly assault dollars in the early 19 70s goes onto talk about a culture that wouldn't listen. in 2005 she says bill cosby still had control of the

media. in 2015, we have social media. we can't be disappeared. it's on line and can never go away. the cover comes after the release of documents from a 2005 sexual assault lawsuit. in them cosby admitted giving sedatives to women he wanted to have sex with, but cosby has always denied wrong-doing and has never been criminally charged. >> and cosby's attorneys insist that these drug were only introduced into consentual sexual relationships there is cover however, erika; just the ongoing story part of the sag you. >> hear the quote pulled from the article, everyone want to go read this article. i know it was shut down overnight, is it back up and running again? >> not yet. magazine posted on twitter couple of hours ago they are well aware of the problem and working as quick lust as possible to fix it. >> right now 6:37. funeral services will be held later today for two women killed in a movie theater shooting rampage in louisianna. john russell howser opened fire at the theater before taking his own life. kenneth craig has the details

now on just how that shooter spent his final hours. report report surveillance video shows the shooter, 59 year old john howser leaving the motel six in his lincoln town car last thursday. less than an hour later he opened fire, inside the grand movie theatre in lafayette. he killed 21 year old macy bro and 33 year old julian johnson. nine others were injured. nicole witnessed the shooting. >> ten rounds went off when i realized, you know, sixth or seventh round, i dropped, i am looking at him because i know guns i said he is reloading. so i screamed to everybody: he's reload. get the hell out of here now. >> in another video house is her seen walking around the hotel grounds and chatting with the front desk clerk. his room was a mess, with clothes and liquor bottles all over the place. as the community mourns, the victims were remembered during a memorial mass held sunday at our lady of fatima catholic church. at this growing memorial outside of the store owned by

julian johnson the community has left flowers arts, and these hand made prayer flags. lauren blanchard, new johnson from the arts community and shots at her store. >> really heart breaking, and hard to verbalize. >> police say howser suffered from decades every mental illness. they just don't know why he went on the shooting spree. kenneth craig cbs news, lafayette, louisianna. >> and, following the louisianna shootings democratic presidential candidate, hillary clinton; speaking out about guns and mental health. during a campaign stop in iowa yesterday, clinton blasted louisianna governor and republican presidential hopeful, bobby jindal, for vetoing mental health funding earlier this year. >> you saw what happens when you have mental health problems and guns. we've seen it over and over and over again and we just saw it in a movie theater in lafayette, louisianna.

northwest detectives with more on this investigation. justin? >> reporter: good morning, 41 year old steven burton was found in maryland late last night. he remains as you mention in police custody. let's take you now to video of burton. he was found in maryland by police there. he was arrested, we are told, without incident. burton had been on the run since 12:30 a.m. sunday, after his wife and daughter were found in their west oaklane home with multiple stab wounds. neighbor said she overheard argument, and raised over in time to see burton leaving the scene, in his honda sedan she says, once she went inside their home, she found mother and one year old daughter with multiple stab wounds. also says four year old boy was inside the home, too but he was not hurt in this incident. again, burton found some hours later in maryland, by police, that mother is now at einstein medical center recovering, her daughter at st. christopher's both in critical condition. erika? >> justin, thank you. scary situation now for news crew in washington state
