either promised to sell these passes, or promise when they will go on sale and haven't. customers we spoke to say the the delay in the problems aren't the real problem what is, it is that more than a week later septa isn't saying why. septa riders in the dark. >> there has to be transparency for the citizens of philadelphia it is no the fair otherwise. >> reporter: west philadelphia resident alycia coffee say that above all else is the real frustration. >> is there cloak and dagger. >> reporter: one week after the web site failure that shut out hundreds of thousands from his purchasing rail passes for pope's vice tonight late september, still no announcement on when passes will be available. the despite septa's inability to return the favor coffee says that she's willing to give them a pass. >> i don't want to be overly critical. i think this is i great opportunity for the city, and something as that is new for septa it is not like they have something like in their policy handbook. they are kind of, constructing the plane while flying it.

>> reporter: that was pretty clear last week. sales for the the passes were suspended last monday after septa's e commerce site collapsed under weight of demand. septa officials say more than 54,000 concurrent users tried to slam the site with purchases in the first moment it launched. they told us an announcement for when passes would go back on sale would happen the following day. they cancel. then they said we'd find out this monday and septa canceled the scheduled news conference. >> our daily need don't change, because we have one of the most powerful men in the world coming to our city. >> reporter: coffee is working in center city while the pope is in town. the she's lucky she lives near work but feels frustration from people who need a plan. >> they need to be completely transparent in their communications. >> reporter: once again today we tried to ask why the cancellation of this scheduled news conference, the response is no comment. the only thing septa did tell us is at some point this week they are going to make another announcement about when those passes are scheduled to go

possible heat wave, up um. >> our third heat wave starts tomorrow and could end up being an extended heat wave for some of us as we see temperatures rise into the 90's and humidity rising as well. let look first at storm scan three which is showing us a couple showers and thunderstorms, as you can see popping up mainly to the south. there is one heavier storm that popped up north of the mercer county here north and east of trenton. you can see lightening with. that rest of our area seeing generally light showers at the moment, not a huge deal, we will zoom in over montgomery county still producing steady rain but just rain. not seeing lightening between gwynedd and prospectville. the as we head into burlington county another shower has started to diminish east of pemberton at the moment on storm scan three. so take a look at temperatures and it is not all that bad today. areas with more sun did get warmer, up to the upper 80's in a few spots but 84 at the airport. eighty-four in allentown. seventy-nine in atlantic city. eighty-one in millville. dew points have been steadily

rising. we had dew points in the 40's and 50's. are very comfortable conditions. dew points in the 60's and 70's. dew point in dover is a very steamy 75 degrees. dew points are rising and they will stay high throughout the next couple days and the heat intensifying as well. if you are going to be out and about tonight, we are talking about a the scattered shower or two around 7:00 o'clock tonight. 81 degrees is our 7:00 p.m. temperature. at 9:00 mostly cloudy. by 11:00 o'clock still at 76. it doesn't look like we drop below 07's. it is steamy. as far as showers and thunderstorms not a big deal. we saw that one popping up north and east of trenton. we cannot rule out one of them popping up in our area we will stay dry but if you find yourself stuck in these showers or storms, brief downpours, chance have of lightening, the threat should diminishing after tark as we will see those showers and thunderstorms, heating of the day start to diminish and showers and storms fall apart as well. i will have more in a few minutes, ukee, back over to you.

well, philadelphia police are searching for the owner of an suv that they say was involve in a deadly hit and run. police say a mitsubishi suv belong to go alberta vargas of north ninth street plowed in the mazda carrying two occupants at i and luzerne streets late last night. the passenger in the mazda was killed. the driver suffered none in life threatening injuries. >> we have one person deceased, one injury, and one person left the scene of the crash, so there were three people involved. unfortunately someone did in the survive the crash. >> reporter: police recovered the mitsubishi suv 2 miles away from the scene. man accused of stabbing a mother and young daughter over the weekend in west oak lane is awaiting extradition in west philadelphia to face charges. police apprehended, 41 year-old burton in maryland. it was a domestic dispute when burton attacked his, 21 month-old baby girl and her mother with a knife. the mother and daughter remain in critical condition. delaware state police are asking for public's help to find a bank rob her who has

struck three times in wilmington. officers say that the man in this surveillance photo is wanted for sticking up the artisans bank on silverside road twice and wfs bank in copper pike. police say each time he was armed and handed a teller a note demanding cash. most recent ups dent was on friday. if you have any information call the police. police arrested this florida man for allegedly taking a video of a one man's skirt in the burlington county wal-mart. forty-four year-old giovanni verona is facing invasion of privacy charges. police say it is possible verona committed other lewd acts in that burlington township wal-mart and in earned ising states. if you recognize this man or have any information you are urged to contact the police. bill cosby a's lawyers are appealing a judge's decision to unseal court find is from a decade old deposition. experts from the 2005 lawsuit were made public earlier this month. cosby testified under oath that he gave drugs to women with whom he wanted to have

on. when they are full, it is very different. >> reporter: currently children who qualify for federal food program get breakfast, lunch and snack. bob casey wants to expand that to include dinner. he supports a measure that would ear mark 350 million-dollar a year to provide, more food, to a greater number of hungry children. >> i always said if kid learn more, and do more later. part of that is getting enough to eat. >> reporter: senator casey says because of the money involved getting this legislation passed will be a battle. by the the way it is estimated that the state of pennsylvania spend over $2 billion a year on medical and mental health care coverage related to hunger. it is a big problem. it is hard to imagine many of us are surrounded by so much food and we don't think bit but kid are in the getting enough. >> and it means so much. the means so much. >> thanks, stephanie. olde city church receives an honor from the philadelphia his torqual commission. the the commission granted historical certification to saint a august us.

factor is humidity. that is what we have to talk about coming up. lets look live at skies cam three out the window of our studio here in center city. it looks like a nice evening in the city of philadelphia most of the showers have missed us. a few scattered showers across the region but right now it is quiet in center city philadelphia we are seeing blue sky out there, after a soaking start, to your morning. lets take a quick look at storm can three which is cleared for us. there are a number of showers and storms that have fired up over portions of virginia we have one pretty nasty looking storm, just north and east of mercer county here near trenton area and we are seeing decent showers there in trenton as well. the rest of us just a couple the scattered showers this evening. that threat should diminish as the sun goes down. it is not that bad. seasonal. eighty-four reading. eighty-four in philadelphia it feels warmer then that, thanks to the humidity. feels like upper 80's in the area with dew points in the 60's. take a look the at thee these heat index values in the deep south. feels like 107 in little rock. 108 in st. louis and only

getting worse there and a lot of this heat and humidity will progress towards our area during the next couple of days. so what to expect, as far as wet weather is concerned? high pressure overhead through tomorrow and then watch this progression of the cold front moving toward, outside thursday, but watch for maybe wednesday, a pop up shower or storm in the afternoon not a huge deal but just with the heating of the day very warm and humid day and then on thursday that cold front approaches, it will fizzle out but a couple of showers thunderstorm thursday, and then that will bring us a reductions lets say in the humidity by the end of the week. wednesday and thursday two are days to watch. today has been steamy. tomorrow a lot like today but wednesday and thursday, those heat index values climb right up into that oppressive range and it is not going to feel very nice out there in fact, dangerous heat, wouldn't be surprised to see heat advisory or excessive heat warning for wednesday or for thursday. overnight tonight mainly cloud which a scattered showers around. we are down to 72. for tomorrow partly sunny, hot and humid seasonably hot and humid. we are used to this weather.

it is in the mid 90's with dew points in the 07's we will talk about dangerous heat. that is for us, this week is wednesday inn then again thursday. planning your day hour by hour, 79 heading out the door at 7:00 a.m. have we're in the 80's by 10:00 a.m. eighty-six by lunchtime. ninety-one at 3:00 p.m. by dinner hour we will see 86 and sunshine through the day. philadelphia, 90. down the shore 83. mostly sunny. good beach day. in the poconos mostly sunny nice and warm highs in the 80's. here's our dangerous heat, wednesday and thursday this tells half of the story, factor in the dew points, it will feel like low triple digits. watch for that late thunderstorm thursday. friday saturday, sunday still hot but humidity is a a little bit lower especially on friday. that is one day we may drop back in the 80's. there is a chance we could get closer to 90 on friday and if we do, what would that mean? that would be a seven day heat wave if we hit 90 on friday. i'm hoping it is a break from the heat but it could be two heat waves bookended, bookend
