was wanted for robbery. how it went down chase went back and forth between two states began in new jersey, just after 7:30. initially the suspect evade the police in oakland camden county and head to do philadelphia. but then it was quickly back over the bridge to new jersey after a trip through camden the next stop was the deptford mall where the suspect drove around the parking lot. after that, it was back on the highway and back into philadelphia. through the toll and crossing the ben franklin bridge the van nearly came to stop at mid span. the suspect evaded philadelphia police several times. always getting out of a tight situation the van eventually exited 95 south near the airport and that's where police had enough. they used a pitt maneuver and the van rolled on to a service road. the suspect was cuffed and is now in custody. >> we go now to "eyewitness news" reporter david spunt in southwest philly at the scene where this long chase came to

that end. david? >> reporter: ukee, what a night for law enforcement. i was just able to confirm through source that the suspect's name is robert ritter he had a warrant out of gloucester township he's currently in the hospital right now after that van flipped over we're on the corner of island and enterprise and i want to you see this van right here. it's been here right now after the that two how hour police chase. we have some video inside of it just an absolute mess. who knows what was going on inside as he was leading police on that chase and i have to tell you this could have been a lot worse. he was going through neighborhoods as we saw during that two-hour chase. there are people walking by. pets animals he ended up stopping right near the airport where near atlantic aviation right near where people come to watch the planes leave at philadelphia international airport. take a listen to lieutenant john walker with philadelphia police talking about what could have happened tonight. >> we thought he was armed. we had our swat units engage in

investigate a recent rash of robberies at cvs stores across the region the most recent one happened in south jersey yesterday. when police say the suspect threatened the employees with a gun and got away with cash. "eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco is in burlington county with the very latest on the investigation. diana in a. >> reporter: ukee we spoke with the father of one of the victims who says his 19-year-old daughter was opening the cvs store yesterday morning when the man walked in, put a gun to her head and made her kneel on the ground. to night she's recovering at home but still shaken. and police say this span not caught, he will most certainly strike again. this is the man police say held up the burlington township cvs sunday morning on neck road at about 7:00 a.m. just as the store was opening police say he walked in and held two employees at gun point. seen in a surveillance video one had just unlock the front door and was bringing in the morning papers. when the suspect follows her. >> brandished a handgun. and took the two employees upstairs into the office where

he instructed the manager on shift at the time to open the safe and he took all the money out of the safe. >> reporter: the suspect made off on foot. one of the employees is a 19-year-old woman. her father tells "eyewitness news" the manmade her kneel on the ground and put a gun to the back of her head. then he fled the store. police believe it's the same man or men that hit as many as 6cvs stores since july 5th in the tri-state area. the first in wilmington delaware. then abington montgomery township newtown borough aston on saturday and sunday burlington, new jersey. >> these individuals or this individual that if they are not id pod and arrested this pattern of conduct will purchase sift until they are. >> surveillance photos show a similar looking man wearing the same black hat always showing silver handgun entering the stores as they're opening or closing. once he's seen within a accomplice the suspect is described as a black man in his 20s with medium build and

it's still 78 degrees right now at the airport. 78 in allentown. i do remember at this time late last week temperatures at 11:00 o'clock into the mid 60s nothing like that right now. we have had a little brief break from the heat and humidity and now we're right back to it. three heat waves this one will be the third. we've had two so far. june 21 to the 23rd. of course, last week july 19 through 21st and now tomorrow through the 30th and we've got to keep an eye on friday that maybe our one day break from the 90s but there is a chance we hit 90 on friday and if so, that would make this next one a potential seven day heat wave. so the heat returns for your tuesday. high pressure is in control. we can see again that darker orange shading indicating the temperatures will start to rise in the low 90's on wednesday we head up into the mid 90s. you can see darker red pink shading here comes the front ukee was talking about bringing the chance for showers and showers and storms on thursday. how it will feel over the neck few days steamy tomorrow, right up into oppressive wednesday and
