lane block. now look at these drive times, all green exactly what we want to see in the 6:00 hour. so in terms of everything, despite the fact we have fog out there, things looking really good. erika, over to you. >> we'll take it, thank you. updating breaking news right now, there are no injuries in in this house fire monroe township gloucester county. the fire broke out around 3:00 on the 200 block of buckingham court and firefighters arrive to fine heavy smoke through the roof. , reports of resident trapped but no one home at the time of the fire. investigators are now looking for a cause. and, more breaking news now in southwest philadelphia. one firefighter is injured while battling early morning house fire there. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us now, at the scene, with an update for us, jan, good morning. >> fire marshall on scene and battalion was on scene and do believe the cause of the fire

is suspicious, that's because of what eyewitnesses have told investigators, already this morning. take a look behind me. officials tell us, this foyer started at that second home from the corner thereon kingsessing avenue. they say neighbors awoke around 3:30 this morning to someone banking angrily on the door there. soon after, neighbors reported seeing the fire burning out of control. and some of those neighbors off camera tell me they are convince that person started this fire. one firefighter did suffer a minor injury. that firefighter taken to presbyterian for treatment. during the fire fight flames spread to the corner home there. three people who were inside had to run to safety. they were already out before firefighters arrived. and all of the people who live in this four homes here on this side of the 5900 block got out safely, but we just spoke to one woman couple of doors down, from where this fire started who actually awoke to firefighters knocking on her door, and then coming up her stairs to make sure she got out safely. >> i didn't know where the

fire was. until i got outside. >> what did you see? >> smoke coming from the house, water sprague on the house, it was -- i never been in a situation like this before. >> reporter: now some of those neighbors are already back in their home this morning, two homes, though, the corner and the home where this fire started, are badly damaged. the red cross now on scene helping those people who still can't get back into their homes, and again the fire marshall's office on scene investigating the exact cause of this fire. but, officials tell me, again that the cause seems to be suspicious in nature at this point, and they add that the home where this fire started is known to police, there has been a loft police activity there in the past. we will continue to update you with more information but for now live in kingsessing jan carabeo cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> jan, thanks for the update.

>> wanted man led police on wild car chase start in the new jersey, ends in pennsylvania, involves dozens of police officer at the state and local level. it started around 7:30, monday night, in oakland, camden county when the suspect evaded police during traffic stop. then, it just escalated. he headed to philadelphia, then back over the bridge, back to new jersey, and he drove through camden, to the depford mall, and then back again, over the bridge, to philadelphia. the van eventually exited i-95, near the airport and that's where police used a pitman offer, and the van rolled onto a service road. the suspect was cuffed and taken into custody. >> we thought he was arm. we had our swat units also engaged in the area in case there was confrontation. we were concerned throughout this being that he did a gunpoint robbery. we know he used the shotgun in the robbery tells you the type of vehicle he had a gun in the car. >> police have identified that driver as robert ritter. ritter was wanted on an armed robbery warrant out of gloucester township.

>> happening today the manna cured of stabbing a mother and her young daughter over the weekends in west oaklane is scheduled for hearing in maryland. forty-one year old steven burton will either wave his rights and be brought back to philly to be charged or fight extradition. police say it was a domestic dispute that ended when burton allegedly attacked his 21 month old baby girl, and her mother attacked them with a knife. the mother and daughter remain in critical condition. >> some sad news out of santa cruz california, police believe they found the body of maddie middleton a eight year old who went missing sunday afternoon. now, a teenage boy has been arrested in connection with that girls disappearance. andrew spencer has the story. >> the fbi had just joined the search for missing girl in santa cruz california. where the chief of police gathered reporters overnight. >> this is extraordinarily heart breaking news that i am about to give to you. our detective discovered the

body of a young female inside after dumpster at the complex located behind me. >> on sunday, eight year old madison middleton disappeared outside her mother's apartment, reporters spoke to maddie's mom during the search monday. >> she was riding her brand new scooter the white razor a black helmet on, wearing purple dress and just happy as could be riding around. >> at the time she didn't know where her daughter could be. >> i already fell apart. now i am just in survival mode. i can't explain how difficult this is. nobody should have to go through this. >> it is horrible. it is awful. cents i -- as i said whether we first announced when we found her. it is heart breaking. the last time i stood in front after group like this and spoke was when my two officers were killed. and it feels just like it did that night. >> when police found a young girl's body, they also arrest add 15 year old boy at the same apartment complex.

this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> good morning, delaware valley oh, it is really heating up today today could be the first day of another heatwave, but katie usually those three day heatwaves, talking about this one seems to go on and on and on. >> yes, i would say the big weather headline absolutely the heat, overwhelming heat here. we have visibilities starting to drop off little bit. that just comes with the way the atmosphere set it sufficient up this morning moisture to work with, visibility map especially in a place like mount pocono for example. actually under half mile visibility there so it is almost like the delaware valley split in half. from i-95, essentially on southeast, not bad. portions at least of central new jersey, getting in on some of that patchy fog, one example of it, shot we showed you earlier in the broadcast where outside cut town area middle school, hey at least able to make out the farm silo. now can't even see that. so i would say let's see at

6:30 now. give it another at least 09 minute or soap, and this should start to thin out. now see the sun clearly is up. just beyond the word temp there. but, it is going to take some time. we see this very often with this casino every set up. you know, you have couple of hours of poor visibility, then goes away, and just left with sunshine. storm scan3, we take quick peak here, nothing really to report at the moment. we are expecting to see more sunshine than anything, as the day progresses, and those are the expected area temperatures, if you are trying to beat the heat, best thing to do is to find the air conditioner for sure. maybe try to head down the shore, where we are expecting high to hit 83. granted you will have humidity too but not as harsh in terms of temperature urban core, where you have got the biggest heat issues, 91 degrees to start off again what's expected to be another heatwave. and it looks meisha like this one will last us, little more than three days, and probably longer than that. >> oh, it sounds that way thanks so much, katie. yes, bring the water bring your sunglasses, too because now as the sun is out it is getting blinding specially for

one, one lane block, because of disable vehicle. so overall no accidents to report. just becoming a busy morning erika, over to you. >> thank you. here's the latest on breaking news we've been following out every southwest philadelphia. one firefighter was injured in a early morning house fire on the 5900 block of kingsessing avenue. we're told that injury is minor. fire officials say the call came in around 3:30 this morning. sources tell "eyewitness news", that fire's cause is suspicious. fire dispatch says all occupants, though, did get out safely. well, you know pope francis arrives in philadelphia in just 60 days, but now people relying on septa to see him getting frustrated with the lack of information on when they can buy those special transit passes. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us now at 30th street station that's one of the few septa station that is will be open during the papal visit. justin, good morning. >> good morning, yes been rough go for septa that site trashed last week. they tried to re due the sales that same week but had to

scrap it for more concerns, now learned that sales could resume this week, however this time, septa says they want to make sure they get it right. perhaps thousands looking forward to monday, hoping it would be the day to find out when and where to finally buy the regional ray paces of the pope's visit. didn't happen, though. septa 3:00 press conference was abruptly called off. so still no word on when those one day, 10-dollar pass goes to market. >> to me it, doesn't seem like it is the way to make people want to come to philadelphia and spend their pond i here, which is what we want it to be. but if you make it difficult for people to use public transit, there is a big problem. >> the papal pass process has not been a smooth one. >> what we decided to do is to suspends the site until further notice. >> the agency says its on line

officials say new fire in sacramento fire was set intentionally, someone start that in the middle of a large field it destroyed home and half dozen classic cars on the property. at least eight wild fires are burning across the state of california. and, after five decades smokey the bear is getting what you might call a furry facelift. the forest fire prevention icon has been staple at the ohio state fair. yesterday, the ohio department of natural resources unveiled the new and improved smokey. there he is. the 21st century bear is 14 feet tall, and animated with animaltronics design to re ate more realistic engaging experience. so, the talking bear, and a hat, that is 14 feet tall, tell you not to start forest fires, now more realistic kate. >> i exactly frankly i wouldn't want to come in contact with a real live bear
