carabao joins us at the school with the details jan good morning. >> reporter: good morning, erika and nicole this is certainly first time parents got together to discuss their outrage over the firing of the very popular educators. parents have held rallies and threatened to take their children out of this school. tonight these parents will get a chance to address the school administration. this is who we're talking about. marge i winter was fired as director of religious education here at waldron mercy academy in merion more than a month ago now on june between the second. winters tells "eyewitness news" that she believes the tipping point for firing was a phone call to the archdiocese of philadelphia, complaining about her marriage. winter had has been married to her wife andrea for seven years. at the time of the firing waldron's principal simply made a statement that the school must adhere to the teachings of the church, which is opposed to gay marriage. but the move angered many parents who continue to show their support for winters. many demanding that she be reinstated. winters doesn't think that is in the card for her.

both she and her wife have kept a low profile since the firing but took time to speak with "eyewitness news" anchor pat ciarrocchi ahead of the latest scheduled parents meeting. >> i knew they would be up in arms over this because we teach tolerance openness, hospitality at waldron. it has been a lot of hurt, yes, and maybe anger at the injustice. >> reporter: a lot of alumni showed their anger as well, many threatening to pull donations from the school if winters isn't reinstated. she has a lot of support. is there a facebook page called stand with marge i that has garnered 11,000 likes and there is a go fun me page that has raised more than 17 you this dollars. thinks still a developing story but for now we are live in merion, jan carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". thanks for the update, we appreciate it. septa will hold a regional lottery for the pope's visit
