the north philadelphia neighborhood but he was later released. at the scene investigators collected potential dna evidence that could be used to facilitate an arrest. police have also stepped up patrols in the neighborhood. the five-year old girl right now is listed in stable condition tonight at st. christopher's hospital for children. she's certainly has a long road ahead of her but ukee, tonight her mommies confidence that she should be able to make a full recovery. reporting live from police special victims, todd quinones cbs-3 "eyewitness news". thanks todd. suspect is, back in philadelphia charged with, baby daughter in west oak lane. forty-one year-old steven burton is facing numerous charges including a attempted murder and aggravated assault. police say burton stabbed his wife and his 21 month-old daughter early sunday at their home in the 1900 block of dallas street. victims are recovering. well deadly crash in the northeast philadelphia last night claimed life of the three young people.

two others were hurt in the crash so violent it sliced their car in half. "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry is at jefferson university hospital where one survivor is fighting for his life syma. >> reporter: that is right ukee. that 17 year-old boy is here at jefferson hospital, after an accident, leaves three of his friends dead. one of the victims aunt speaks with "eyewitness news". always smiling always happy, and it was totally unexpect. >> reporter: no word can describe heartache karen lee is feeling after learning her niece sabrina marie rhodes was killed in the car crash. it happened late wednesday night on sandmeyer lane in bustleton. five people were traveling in the 2007 acura at a high speed when the the driver lost control, and struck a tree, splitting the car in half, and rejecting sabrina and a 17 year-old girl. both died at the scene with the 20 year-old passenger. >> i'm praying for these families. >> reporter: a seven year-old boy was critically injured and

taken to jefferson hospital. police say the 20 year-old driver left the scene and showed up to a hospital hours later. investigators believe speed is the cause of the crash and surveillance video shows another vehicle driving close to the car, before it hit the tree. >> they are boating go to going fast food but i don't know if they were racing but they were fast. >> reporter: sabrina was one of eight children heading in to her senior year at george washington high school. her aunt said she was considering a career in nursing or teaching. now those dreams are shattered in a matter of moments. >> she was just excited about what was to come after high school and what school to go to and everything that she wanted in her life and goals that she wanted to set. i want everyone to know that she was the best person. >> reporter: and, the victim is here in critical condition at jefferson hospital suffered severe head, leg and pelvic injuries. the driver is being treated at einstein hospital.

it is too early to determine if the driver will face any charges, police say the investigation could take weeks, even months, but right now their focus is to find the driver of the other vehicle to see if there is something that they know, that could help with the investigation. we're live outside jefferson hospital syma chowdhry for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". syma, thank you. in other news iron hill brew youry in media is closed until further notice. fire broke out in the roof area of the restaurant bar around 11:30 this morning. crews evacuated the building while they work to place that fire under control. no one was hurt but the the cause of the fire is still to be determine. well, details emerge about chaka fattah's allege corruption while in office we are hearing from the congressman's son. fattah, serving his 11th term in the house of representatives is charged with miss appropriating hundreds of thousands of dollars from federal charitable, and campaign fund. well, the families of missing teen bothers in florida are vowing to keep their own search going even after the coastguard's ends. about 20 planes and many boats are involve in the private search right now for perry cohen and austin stephanos. the two have been missing since leaving on a fishing boat on friday. perry cohen's father is holding out hope. >> he would have done everything he can whether it been grabbing the on the life vest, tying it together, they have a cooler that cooler has water in it. there is a seat that is supposedly missing. he would have thought of it. >> coastguard says it searched for teens will last until at least tomorrow. well, it was like taking candy from a baby but this thief nabbed a ipad. lot this video from florida. a teenage boy pacing outside a salon opens up and snatches the child's ipad. four year-old boy not hurt in the altercation was watching cartoons waiting for his mom who work at that salon. that suspect remains at large.

may, new jersey. hey there torey. >> hi there ukee. hi everyone at home. it is, still a nice night to be down the shore, here in cape may but we got to tell you, not far from the cape may beach, there is a farm, harvesting something super special, right from mother nature. the lets take a look. jersey tomatoes, peaches and corn summertime and eating is easy, fresh off the farm, and off the coast. >> this is what we're looking for. just beautiful little crystals. >> reporter: farmer derek thomas and chef lucas turn sea water in to sea salt. it starts in the waters off an avalon jetty. long hose snaking down at high tied pumps water on to a truck. from there the the water comes pouring in large pools inside the greenhouse at windy acres farm. >> we allow whatever sediment in the what the tore drop to the bottom. we transfer water from the settling pool into where oure van ways pool is. >> reporter: it evaporates,

>> windy acres. >> yes, windy acres for sure. >> yes indeed. we've got some storms not looking so amazing moving through portions of new jersey. we are tracking these storms moving through the area earlier today and now you they are moving east of philadelphia but still packing heavy downpours. lets take a a look at them outside and see what is happening weather-wise. on the rooftop camera still had drops on the lens there over philadelphia at the moment. still light showers moving through the city but heavier rain has push to the east. i want to show you one that hasn't seen much, look at the time lapse throughout the day at boardwalk plaza and rehoboth beach. it has been a stunning beach day. nothing but blue skies all will day long, beach pack, little hot too for sure just a few clouds rolling in when we saw wind picking up. those cloud moving in and storms start to push toward the shore points. here's where that line is right now slicing right through center of the south jersey at the moment, we are seeing steady downpours in camden and gloucester counties, and cumberland

county and kent county, delaware. zooming in on the heavier rain across burlington and camden county right around new hanover at the moment, pemberton and southampton where we are seeing heavy stuff. further south up are deerfield and pittsgrove. down the shore we have a couple hours before this gets in probably another hour, hour and a half, by 7:00 i do expect rain to be moving through. we're talking about heavy rain flood advisories following this line over an inch in reading. inch in oxford and .79 in macungie. look at the cooling as the the rain comes through only 77 at the airport. temperatures rebounding as sun comes back out behind that line in allentown and reading. eighty-two in millville right now. by 6:00 the showers and storms moving toward the shore. 8:00 p.m. maybe a lingering shower behind that main line but then starts to clear out overnight tonight. skies clear and temperature will drop just slightly. you can see here the moist air right here that sandy color right there is dry air and that is pushing in, behind

that these storms will bring for the week ukee, back to you. and in the news tonight legion near's disease is being investigated at west chester university. an employee tested positive for the infection. health reporter stephanie stahl joins with us more on the local case and surge nationally. >> reporter: let me tell you there are no students at west chester university right now so there is limited risk of exposure and contaminated areas are being cleaned up after an employee was diagnosed with legionnaire's disease, environmental testing at west chester university found higher then aprilable levels of the bacteria in cooling towers of eight buildings on campus, including the the student union library and science center. memo from the university sent to 1,000 employees said a remediation firm is treating the affected cooling towers. the note is a says in part, that the presence of legionnaire's does not mean that a person will contract legionnaire's disease. since the bacteria exist

naturally in the environment people often receive low level exposure, without contracting the the disease. bacteria also cannot be passed from person to person. people become infect by inhaling bacteria which causes a severe lung inflammation like pneumonia. there have been 2200 cases of legionnaires illnesses reported nationwide since january, more than one hundred are in new york city. >> this particular out break is still under investigation. >> reporter: out break in the south bronx is currently under investigation, 31 people in the last two weeks, two people died including john rouse brother who was a music teacher. >> i don't think it is common for an otherwise healthy five two-year old man to pass away in 2015 from legionnaires disease. >> reporter: doctors say legionnaires disease usually develops two to ten days after exposure. symptoms are like the flu. it is important to start treatment with antibiotics quickly to reduce risk of serious complications or

center kate. >> reporter: these storms are moving out of philadelphia we are seeing clearing, blue skies trying to peak out from the city on west but still getting heavier rain over new jersey, and you can see nasty storms over portions of maryland and down into virginia. this extend up in to new england as well. it is a pretty potent squall line moving through the region. got news is there is dryer air pushing in behind it and while it does stay warm for friday and the weekend it will not be quite as unbearable humid as today and yesterday have been. still some embedded steady rain pushing through burlington county from ocean down to burlington and gala way area heavy rain. this will get in absecon by 65:00 p.m. if you you are down the shore within the next 15 to 20 minutes we expect that rape to get into atlantic city and toward beach haven lbi area as well and toms river where you can see north of toms river thunderstorm happening right now. the flood advisory that was in effect for the city and delaware county in to wilmington has been canceled, is there another one following this line of
