we head toward tonight into tomorrow. breaking down your temperatures, 8:00 mid 70s, 83 by 11:00. afternoon upper 80s to around 90 then by 8:00 still in the lower 80s for philadelphia, high temperature of 90 degrees, that would make it day six of of this heatwave. sunshine poconos, high of l zero. we do have relief in the seven day forecast, get to that coming up in a few minutes todd? >> okay, justin, thank you. new this morning police are investigating a shooting in the torresdale neighborhood, one man was shot in the leg. it happened in the 6900 block of torresdale avenue after 5:00 a.m. the 25 year old unidentified man is in stable condition. no details on the shooter at this time. >> also, new this morning shooting is under investigation in coatesville chester county. it happened at the intersection of harmony and pennsylvania avenue at around 1:00 a.m. no details on how many victims were shot or their condition at this time. the shooter is still on the loose. >> the victims of deadly crash in bustleton are remembered,

two teenage girls and 20 year old man were killed when police say the car they were in hit a tree on red lion road in sandmeyer lane wednesday night. "eyewitness news" reporter steve patterson takes us to emotional vigil for the victim. >> reporter: heart break beneath the branches. >> it is a hard time, brother ancestors, but we must have the courage to deal with this. >> reporter: at the base of this tree where were three young lives were lost, saturday dozens came to say good-bye by transforming the scene into a memorial. there, silence only punctuated by sadness. >> to give us the courage that we need. >> reporter: police say their car, 2007 acura was traveling in excess of 75 miles per hour late wednesday night along sandmeyer lane in bustleton. the car hit a curb, lost control, and was cracked open. two girls, 17 year old sabrina roads, and yvette gonzalez, were ejected and killed, 20

year old philippe hernandez also died at the scene. the driver of the vehicle walked away and later reported to the hospital with injuries. hernandez's grandfather deacon, called it a moment to reflect and teach. >> we need to show our young people how dangerous this is. >> police continue to investigate what happened that night including the possibility of a second vehicle that may have been present during the crash. but for now under this tree? >> mothers and fathers people who lost their kids, you know, just, you know, difficult. >> reporter: there was fifth person in that car a young 17 year old man also taken to the hospital with critical injuries suffering head trauma and still recovering. and then police continue to search for the driver after second vehicle, they say they saw on surveillance video they hope to interview the occupant of that vehicle as well. reporting from bustleton steve patterson cbs-3

"eyewitness news" . >> police have 17 year old boy in custody about 1:00 yesterday afternoon corner of west ninth and engel streets. police say the boy was shot in the stomach analyst in the stable condition. it is not clear though, what led to that shooting. verizon and two unions representing 39,000 workers from massachusetts to virginia put off a strike late last night, when they decided to continue negotiations, as the current contract expired. union says verizon demanding job cuts, job security, and wants to either eliminate the company's 401k benefit match or freeze its defined benefit pension. verizon has said the union proposals are unrealistic and out of touch in today's marketplace. also happening today football begins for the philadelphia eagles, a team

"eyewitness news". >> thank you very much. well septa says now that all of it transit officers will be wearing body cameras by the end of the year. septa is expanding pilot program that was launched last year outfitting some officers with the cameras officials say the program has gotten positive feedback from the public in many believe the recording devices will help protect their rights and officers' lives. body cameras also help police streamline their investigations. and, new this morning tennessee police officials say an officer has been shot and killed during a traffic stop in memphis. it happened just after 9:00 last night the officer was conducting a traffic stop when he was shot multiple times, he later died at the hospital manhunt underway for the suspect. naacp on 40 day journey for justice. the civil rights group kick off america's journey for justice, crossing some of the historic bridge, landmark of the civil rights movement from
