"eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us a the that scene in, wynfield with the latest on the search, justin, good morning. >> reporter: police got several calls about a gunshot being fired here in wynfield late last night. they pulled us to the corner here at 5300 block of berk street and found that victim shot in his head and his body still on that bike. overnight, philadelphia police, stood watch on the 5300 block of berks, the street intersection now a crime scene where police found a young man gunned down. >> upon police arrival we found a male, appears to be a male in his early 20's, he was shot at least one time in his head. medics pronounced him dead on the scene at 12:04 a.m. >> reporter: victim first identified as a beyond dough was sitting honor perhaps riding a bicycle moments before his death. when he was discovered police tell thaws his body was still

straddling that bike and found nearby possible clues about a shooter. >> we found three large caliber spent shell casings, all several feet from where the victim's body had collapsed which is an indication that the shooter fired these three shots from point blank range. >> reporter: homicide detective also spoke with witnesses as crime scene unit comb the scene. >> from witnesses the shooter, after firing the shots, entered a dark colored vehicle that was occupied by two other males. the suspect and two other males were last seen in the dark colored sedan type vehicle south on georges lane from 53rd street. >> reporter: detectives will scan video from nearby police crime cameras at 54th and berk street. back out here live police will check cameras nearby belong to go neighbors in the area hoping to see this crime in progress or get a glimpse of those suspects.

township. we're told the stabbing was a result, and, between a father and his son. police have not released their identities. philadelphia housing authority begins its new smoking ban today. it prohibits lighting up inside phl owned homes and public housing property except in designated outdoor areas. lease helders could face eviction from new buildings after a fourth violation. violators in existing buildings will have to attend counseling. new policy effects 80,000 tenants. also happening today a rally for justice for brandon tait brown. the 26 year old was kill during a traffic stop in december. the officers involved were cleared of wrongdoing, rally organizers, including the philadelphia naacp want the officers removed and they want an independent investigation by the department have of justice. the ride will be held later this morning in mayfair where

philadelphia police are investigating a fatal shooting in wynfield. someone shot a man riding a bicycle near 53rd and berks around midnight. we are told he died at that scene. a smoking ban begins today in all units of the philadelphia housing authority. it expects 80,000 tenants, however, there will be designated outdoor smoking areas. donald trump and new jersey governor chris christie they are among ten republicans who will appear in tomorrow night's debate in cleveland. around 5:30 to a two story house on the 11 hundred block of sheraton street. there is in word on any injuries right now. the philadelphia housing authority's new smoking ban starts today and this is affecting tens of thousands of tenants. it will be easier for some to kick the habit then others. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins with us more on that, good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning. smokers have to now take it outside. this new policy bans smoking inside of peoples homes as well as, all philadelphia housing authority properties. now that this ban is in effect philadelphia becomes the the largest city in the nation with this sort of indoor smoking ban. including long time smoker joe ellen robbins this is a habit hard to kick. >> i have been smokes since i was 18. >> reporter: despite a new ban on her home she does not intend on quitting now. she lit up inside this living

room for two decade. >> they still shouldn't have the authority to tell you that you cannot smoke in your home. that is just like telling you you cannot turn on the the fire on your stove. >> reporter: but rollins is now one of 80,000 low income residents who must go smoke free. the philadelphia housing authority's ban on smoking, covers all units in all property. smoking is now only allowed in designated outdoor area. many acknowledge health benefit the but still are not happy about the the change. >> it the is in your home so as long as you are paying rent it shouldn't matter. >> reporter: tenants who smoke at home will be issued a violation and asked to seek out smoking cessation support but tenants violate ban new new units or substantially rehabilitated unit could face eviction after their fourth violation. >> ultimately our goal, it is not to be punitive but our goal, it is to help our families live in good environments and frankly to stop smoking.

new surveillance video of the suv smashing in the goodwill store in houston. workers say that the driver ran over a curve, crashed through a window and took out several racks of clothing. two workers and two customers were hurt but we are told they are all out of the hospital. and more incredible video here to show you, a boro in the big apple has a big problem and that is it h that giant sink hole opened up in brooklyn yesterday. witnesses say the ground just gave way, happened quickly too, and there were cars, people walking in that intersection just minutes before this happened. the good news, in one was injured. new york city officials believe ruptured water main cause that had sink hell. right now it is 6:43. let's check on roads with meisha. >> good morning, everyone. this is video from chopper

prison officials are up vest faithing an incident where a drone was used to tropical drugs and tobacco in the prison recreational yard. guard found drugs and tobacco in the yard after a fight. after a viewing of the surveillance tape they discovered a drone dropped off the package. nine inmates were involved in that fight. right now lets get more on the search for suspect shot and killed a man in the by sick until philadelphia. our justin finch joins us at that scene in wynfield with the information, justin, good morning. >> reporter: police are now

looking for a dark car, last seen going south on georges lane just after that shooting happen. late last night. that biker was found at that corner there, lying in the streets, still on his bike with the shot to his head. police also found three large spent shell casings nearby a semiautomatic gun. the crime scene here, canvassed this area on the 5300 block of berks street. witnesses saw that possible shooter get inside of that dark colored sedan, fleeing the scene here going south on georges lane with two or men inside of that car. just after midnight last night. police say several 911 calls are what brought them to this area here in wynfield. homicide detectives are set to reveal surveillance for a glimpse of the car and perhaps the suspects here this morning. if you saw or heard anything last night in this area you are urged to give police a call. we are live, i'm justin finch, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". thank you for that. 6:58. meisha, we have the answer here, you are handling bugs.
