pennsylvania is calling for her to step down. kane ace accused of leaking grand jury testimony and then lying bit. hello everyone i'm ukee washington. i'm jessica dean. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff has been tracking this story all day and she's live in norristown for us tonight alexandria. >> reporter: ukee and jessica as attorney general kathleen kane holds the highest position in law enforcement in the commonwealth to sees her last name on these documents is rather startling. list of charges include obstruction of justice and perjury. >> when someone is entrusted with up holding the law violates that oath and violates the law that he or she is bound to up hold, we are all victims. everyone of us. >> reporter: under strong arm of the criminal charges and request by the governor to step down. >> i am not sure how the top law enforcement officer in pennsylvania can continue to perform her duties while she's defending herself against

these serious charges. >> reporter: state attorney general kathleen kane has had this to say in a statement. a resignation would be an admission of guilt, and i'm not guilty. what kane does not dispute according to the november 17th, 2014 grand jury testimony, is that she believed that the public had the right to know the details of a 2009 case involving adversaries. let's put it out to the press she recalled in court. but kane has maintained that she was not involved in illegally leaking the info to the philadelphia daily news for june 2014 article. an act of retaliation coupled with a cover up, according to montgomery county district attorney risa furhman. >> in the hopes of embarrassing and harming former state prosecutors whom she believed, whom she believed, without evidence, had made her look bad. >> reporter: furhman is talking about a philadelphia inquirer article published three months earlier, kane disputes all above allegations adding i look forward to the opportunity to present my case in a public courtroom and move

beyond the behind the scenes maneuvering that has defined the process to this point. well, also charged this morning was a special agent of kane's who doubled as her driver. he's charged with physically obtaining that information that was later leak to the paper. reporting live from montgomery county alexandria hoff, for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". we invite everyone to stay with "eyewitness news" for continuing coverage of the kathleen kane indictment, we will bring you latest information on tv and on line at cbs philly.com. a body found in the darby creek has been identified as a 11 year-old laquan lattimore of folcroft. lattimore was last seen riding his bike monday afternoon and darby creek is just a few miles from his home. lattimore's family had been searching for him for days and offered a reward for information, no word yet on a cause of death. a horrifying scene as a woman is chased by a robbery suspect in queen village and it is caught on camera. twenty-eight year-old victim

was walking in the 700 block of passyunk avenue on friday when that man started chasing her. police say suspect stopped her and stole her cell even if before running from that area. if you recognize that suspect call the the philadelphia police. deptford mall reopened a short time ago after a water main break forced him to temporarily close. break happened around 1:00 this afternoon and chopper three was over scene as crews work there mall was expect to be closed for rest of the day but crews were able to finish up early in word if the mall sustained any damage. turning to the weather now and another beautiful day across the region but we are tracking some wet weather for you, meteorologist kate bilo is on the skies deck right now, kate? >> it looks like it the is different outside even just an hour or two ago clouds have rolled in and that is keeping it cooler in the city of philadelphia, last time i was out here at 5:00 it was lightly raining but now dry but stratus cloud have moved n i have posted a picture. you can see the sky line covered in low hanging clouds.

we will see that through tonight and much of tomorrow as well. thing is we will not see ton of rain because it is off to the south. we will look at storm scan three, you can see heavier rain thunderstorms across virginia and north carolina light rain across south central pennsylvania but again this is light and spotty. we are seeing some along the turnpike right through lancaster county and chester county. anything we see it in will be light and not a huge deal but overnight tonight 3:00 a.m. mainly south from philadelphia, north and west you may see breaks in the cloud cover overnight that storm continues to move off shore tomorrow, and maybe a shower off to the south and east but for most of us from the city north and west it is a cloudy friday and cooler as well. tonight what to expect mainly cloudy skies areas of light rain and sprinkles here and there and friday showers are off to the south and the clouds will hang on, with an east wind, it does stay cooler. i can tell you i felt a rain drop on my arm. you cannot dodge these out and about tonight. couple stray showers. not a big deal. we are not talking thunderstorms or severe

weather but it has been a while since we have had cloud and any rain to speak of. coming up we will tell if you this will impact your weekend when i join you inside. >> kate, thank you. fire tears through a building that used to house the old public library any media, delaware county. chopper three over that scene at west front street this morning. no one was hurt in the the fire but investigators are looking into what caused it. they know that building has been vacant since last month because the boro temporarily moved library any to a local firehouse until construction on a new library is complete. the lakes in medford are closed after campers got stuck. the department of health is testing the waters the at the camp, the illnesses, stomach related, are not believed serious. half dozen people got sick starting last week even. >> wondering what she could have potentially contracted in the water if they are concerned about something with the lake and what i should be looking for as far as her being hill or anything. >> this time of the year is the most common health concern

counting. stay with "eyewitness news" for continuing coverage of the papal visit on tv and our web site at cbs philly.com. now to campaign 2016, leading candidates are getting ready for first republican presidential debate of the campaign and right now seven candidates at the bottom of the polls are debate nothing cleveland. at the top ten republican candidates will duke it out at 9:00 o'clock tonight. new jersey governor chris christie will be among those on stage where donald trump who holds a big lead in recent polls. in the meantime governor christie's popularity has hit a new low at home. 30 percent of registered new jersey voters polled have a favorable opinion of the governor, this is according to a new rutgers eagleton poll. 50 percent of an unfavorable opinion, down 11 points. they are siding with donald trump for the nomination. you could go so far as calling them airport angels, two, tsa agents, hailed as heroes after saving a man's life at a security checkpoint.

>> "eyewitness news" reporter matt river sat down with the victim and agent who saved his life. >> george spangler woke up on the airport floor looking up to a dozen people looking down. >> people, inches from my face with smiles. >> reporter: they were smiling because worst was over, as schwartz and his wife were headed to minnesota standing in the security line when. >> all of a sudden i see his whole body just go down. >> reporter: george was having a heart attack and collapsed unconscious, not breathing. >> so i just screamed emergency. >> reporter: that is when heroes showed up. >> next in line. >> reporter: tsa officers connie labeouf and shawn mcqueen heard what happened and rushed to give cpr. >> my thinking was just going through my mind was that we didn't want to have him die. >> reporter: tsa officers are not regularly trained to do cpr but thankfully connie and the other received training. the connie learn as part of her role as girls high school

varsity soccer down and seanda learned as training in an emt. they did cpr until aed was used on george's chest and father of two opened his eyes, two smiling faces. >> when he came back we said we got him. >> i asked him his name, how he was feeling where he was going. i said you are good today. >> reporter: eight days later we asked george about what could have been. >> really i'm still processing that. >> it's tough because the the outcome had been different i would be sitting in black and our whole family would be devastated. >> reporter: but instead there is a life to be lived perhaps future grandchildren to spoil, thanks to two women who did the right thing at the right time. >> our kids still have their dad and that you cannot give anybody a greater gift than that. >> reporter: angels at the airport, matt rivers, for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". what a story. >> great.

>> unaudible. >> there we go supporters of the als hope foundation, buckets of ice water on themselves at love park in philadelphia of course, last summer you remember ice bucket challenge raising a lot of money for fight begins als degenerative neurological disease that leads to progressive weakness. the hope foundation is hoping, to receive that success. >> the the money has gone a real long way last year, but it is not enough, and every august, until there is a cure, it is our slogan, we hope everybody remembers that. but we never dreamed of what this would mean to really the als community. >> right now the als hope foundation is hosting a dinner party at chickie and pete's in south philadelphia that goes until 9:00 o'clock tonight and 10 percent of the proceed will go directly to the foundation.

it is a a beautiful day to be down the shore and lbi sound like a good as place as any. >> our vittoria woodill is in beach haven. what is going on there today. >> reporter: you know, jessica, there is a lot going on usually i'm happy to have my feet on the ground but considering the reptiles, it is nice to have my head in the clouds, that is right, we are in fantasy island right here in beach have men long beach island and what a day, they have everything here, fun for the family, and when you ride this ferris wheel which by the way is 21 years old made in italy 68 feet tall with thousands and thousands of lights, you can catch the beautiful sites that the island beholds right before your very eyes. it is just something so spectacular. when you head down the shore it is memories like this that get to be created every weekday and fantasy island is only one of the great things they have going on, at least throughout the summertime. lets look at the other things

they do have going on here down the shore, first up, if you are planning anything for friday, friday is free movie night, on the beach in brigantine you can watch las vegas at brigantine beach. lah goon boulevard. that is starting at 8:00 p.m. also this weekend in ocean city is 53rd annual boardwalk art a show featuring leading artists from a all over, throughout the east coast. finally in north wildwood, the inlet light house takes part in national light house day on friday a patriotic ceremony starts off the day full of music and artists and more and i have to tell you that i think myself and jake, give us ad in on the camera if you agree here, isn't this a nice change of pace, right next to the python or away from the python, jake? was that a python? i can't remember. i'm still startled by it. i can tell thaw fantasy island is where memories are created. i was talking to gary, one of

the owners, we are having ice cream at the ice cream shop looking at a few of the games they had in the arcades. i mean really it is just such a great place for families. they have described it as an oasis within an oasis and if that is not the best way to describe it, it just says it all, fun memories, family time and that is what down the shore is all about. i'm just grateful i was here to take tonight and share it with you guys. i wish you three were here, ukee kate, jessica not like i can fit you next to me. >> but we can hold the snake. >> oh, we could. >> you can volunteer for that. >> i'll tell michael i'll get snake and bring it back to the studio. >> for the record, i'm out. i'm out. i'll put it out there. >> i'm out. >> thanks, vittoria. >> i can hold that turtle. >> that was serious. did you see the mouth on that thing. >> good stuff from the turtle.

>> indeed. the nice day. nice in beach have up, beautiful day down there. we have rain creeping into our area but not as bad as what they have going on in portions of china and taiwan. look at this photo from space this shows the typhoon taken by astronaut scott kelly aboard the international space station which is amazing that we can get pictures taken from the space station of these storms and you can see what it looks like from space. thank to you scott kelly for snapping that photo. take a look at the scope and size of this typhoon out in the pacific. let look at the stats on it as well. here it is, category two wind of 110 miles an hour, gusts to 130. here's taiwan and southeastern coast of china here's movement of this storm. it will make land fall late friday into early saturday along coast of taiwan and coast of china as a category three with very strong wind. we are expecting wind damage from that. you can see size of that storm in that photo from space. a amazing stuff. things could be worse then

what we have going on right now. you can see as we sweep the area light rain, this is what we call stratoform precipitation which means light rain, drizzle. we are talking about convective precipitation that brings us thunderstorm activity. light and scattered at the moment across the region. temperatures right now defending on if you see rain or cloud, we are seeing cooling. it is only 74 with rain falling in lancaster. reading at 79. allentown 78. still hanging on to 84 in philadelphia. eighty in millville. coolest day we have had in sometime is first day below average since july 24th. wind off water is cooler down the shore as well. temperatures in the 07's from barnegat light and rehoboth beach. most of this storm misses us to the the south but overnight tonight, 2:00 a.m. use maybe turnpike as a bench mark to the north mainly clear, a few cloud. to the south we have light rain and drizzle few steady showers overnight. that storm pushes off shore tomorrow. north and west could be a is in bring south and east a

spoiler, mainly cloudy, not a wash out even if you are down the shore but do watch out for rain, drizzle mainly tonight and tomorrow morning you can see reading not expected to get much a at all. atlantic city not much but better chance you get of having at least some precipitation in your forecast. overnight mainly cloudy, showers around 68 degrees. tomorrow cloud and few breaks north and west. showers mainly to the south at 80 degrees. down the shore a friday spoiler, mostly cloudy, 77 degrees. eyewitness weather seven day forecast and shore cast is better for everyone. the sun returns even down the shore, but in the city things look great. 84 degrees. sunday is beautiful. we are bookended by showers because monday and tuesday we will get another chance for showers but at least weekend looks good. >> mid 80's, not too hot or cool what i call goldie locks weather. >> just right. >> all right kate, thanks very much. >> we will be right back.
