calm, just out of the east northeast. just 3 miles per hour, not bad. beautiful blue skies, seeing a lot of that today in the region, sunny sunday on tap. storm i shall start to the week. some rain expected monday into tuesday, and that will cool us down, ever so slightly, and ever so briefly. let's take live look at storm scan3, and you can see, the radar nice and clear, again, just picking up on barely anything there. not even blip. few high clouds, that's about it. temperatures around the region looking quite nice. seventy-four in philadelphia, 68 atlantic city, up in reading about 67 degrees, and mount pocono, made it up to that 60 degrees mark, yes, you're in the 60s club. we talk about the rain, want to come back in just a few, time it out for you, show you when the heaviest rain is expected to tall. again, this will happen as you get monday night into tuesday. so i'll have all of the details for when you i come back in just a moment. todd, back to you. >> kyla, thank you very much. getting new information about a deadly car crash this morning in society hill. it happened at around 5:30, this morning, at fourth and lombard street.

police say an s.u.v. hit bump and lost control, then slammed into a tree, and then flipped on it side. investigators say, the 21 year old driver was ejected and died after being crushed by the car. three other people were in that car but they were not injured. also, new this morning, in the somerdale section, philadelphia police are searching for the person who shot a man in a back, the victim told police he was walking down the sidewalk on somerdale street near robbins avenue when someone came up from behind and shot him just before midnight. he was taken to einstein hospital. he is expected to survive. the shooter, though, still remains at large. and, this morning, philadelphia fire investigators looking for the cause of a fire that tore through several amounts in a restaurant, near the intersection broad and huntington street in north philadelphia. surely after 1:00 a.m., fire crews respond today a call of flames on the second floor of the 3-story structure, we're told the apartment was empty, where the fire started, two people were evacuated, and no

injuries were reported. well, happening today, the town of ferguson, missouri marks one year since the shooting of michael brown. yesterday, hundreds marched through the town led by brown's father michael. the shooting of the unarmed black 18 year old, by white police officer, darren wilson, sparked violent demonstrations across the country. brown's controversial death gave birth to the black lives matter movement. later today a march is planned that will start at the site of the brown shooting and finish at a local church. >> a deadly police involved shooting is now being investigated by the f.b.i. in texas. friday morning, rookie police officer brad miller shot and killed 19 year old christian taylor during a burglary call at a car dealership. according to reports, taylor was unarmed at the time of the shooting. in arlington police department spokesman says that taylor was uncooperative after crashing

his jeep through the front glass of the dealership during that encounter. >> as officers stood outside the building they made verbal contact with mr. taylor through the glass wall, instructing him to lie on the ground. mr. taylor was not compliant. >> the officer has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation takes place, family members describe taylor as a good kid, and don't believe that he was trying to commit a crime. >> and police are investigating a deadly shooting in north philadelphia. detective say a 46 year old man was shot in the chest, at allegheny avenue and e street around 2:30 in the afternoon, he died at temple university hospital. two other were wounded, one of them, 59 year old man, search is on for the gunman this morning. and, we're learning more about deadly stabbing in mayfair early saturday, police say it happened after a 21 year old man tried flagging down a driver, who was going the wrong way on revere street. police say the man slowed down, the car slowed down, and a man got out of that vehicle and stabbed the 21 year old in

the chest. suspect then got back in the car, and fled the scene. police are still looking for the suspect. pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane was fingerprinted and arraigned this weekend at the montgomery county courthouse. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria huff was there as kane turned herself in. >> the weekend crowd in norristown strayed from the norm. as state attorney general, kathleen kane, was met by media, and a handful of well-wishers. >> good luck, miss kane. >> but that small smile fell flat. once inside the montgomery county detective bureau. as it is looking through the other end of the lens, cane arraigned under the same conditions as though she spent her career prosecuting. >> she went through the series of things we have to do with processing, with fingerprints, and mugshots, things like that. >> this is a sad day for the citizens of pennsylvania. >> the same sentiment twice in one week. thursday, kane was formally charged with crimes, including

obstruction, and perjury, which is a felony. the alleged leak of protected grand jury information, that was later published in the philadelphia daily news. prosecutors believe that this was an act of retaliation against former colleagues that kane believe dement her bad press in the month prior. after a video meeting with the district judge, kane was even more sure to avoid comment, but attorney spoke out against thursday's allegations. >> it leaves out players t leaves out communications, it is really only very small part of the story. it is not uncommon in a criminal case. and we expect that as time goes on, a greet deal more will come to light. >> despite pushes from top state leaders, kane has made it clear, she will continue serving as the state's top prosecutors and the counties newest defendant. alexandria huff, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> of course stay with "eyewitness news" for complete coverage of the case against attorney general kane, the latest on air, also on line at cbsphilly.com.

donald trump is under fire again, for controversial comment. trump didn't like how he was treated during this week's republican debate. he made it known. "eyewitness news" reporter natasha brown with more on how trump's words have cost him an invite to a conservative gather this weekend. >> trump tried to defend his dismiss i have treatment of fox news debate moderator megan kelly, but he only appeared to add more fuel to the fire. >> she get out, she starts asking me all sorts of ridiculous questions. and, you know, you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her where ever, but she was, in my opinion, she was off base. >> eric erickson, red state gathering, said trump crossed the line of de ends ski. >> if you haven't heard, i dis invited donald trump. hang on. just hang on. >> in response, trump called

erickson a quote total loser. but there were unmistakable signs of turmoil in his campaign saturday, in a rare occurrence, the billionaire businessman tried to soften his remarks, but in his trademark trump way, tweeting that he meant blood would have been coming out of kelly's knows, releasing a statement saying quote only deviant would think anything else. trump's political advisor roger stone apparently didn't think so, he parted waste with the campaign, we don't have time for political correctness, trump is right about that. but the campaign seems to have gone into a cul-de-sac, and i'm disappointed in the lack of specificity put forward by the campaign to date. >> that is not how we win elections. >> one by one, republican rivals took trump to task, some on twitter, others like jeb bush before the group of conservative activists. >> give me a break. i mean, do we want to win? do we want to insult 53% of all voters? what donald trump said is wrong. >> natasha brown, cbs-3, "eyewitness news".

and ed stone also says done al trump is measuring his success by blogs like the drunk report instead of by scientific polls. well, a south jersey man accused of leaving two puppies in a hot car it die has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges. authorities say that kevin conquest of sicklerville left the puppies in a mt. laurel parking lot while he work on july 4th. the three month old puppies were a husky and golden retriever. a judge fined conquest $4,000. and he's now banned from owning any animals for five years. and he must serve 40 hours of community service at the camden county animal shelter. >> a former montgomery county teach here pleaded guilty to having sex with one of her student cents sentenced to prison. thirty-four year old jessica streeper will serve nine months, nearly two years. prosecutors say streeper had sex with a eighth grade student last spring in her car a and in her home. she was teacher at eisenhour

japan surrender. more than 07,000 died, and from subsequent radiation sickness. we're getting new images for the search for malaysia airlines flight 370. french -- french army released these pictures, from above. france has launched week long operation to find more debris. last week, part of a wing believed ton from mh370 washed up on reunion island, that islands controlled by france, and located in the indian ocean. malaysia airlines flight 370, vanished in march of 2014, with some 239 people aboard. and a scary moment for airplane passengers had their flight get caught in a hail storm. forced to make emergency landing in denver. the delta plane was heading to salt lake city from boston friday, when the storm hit, breaking the cockpit windows, and tearing up other part of the aircraft. the plane landed safely, at denver international airport, one person was taken to the hospital.

at least 22 people are dead, or missing, after a typhoon hits taiwan, in maine land china. heavy rains also triggered mudslides, and collapsed trees and houses. cbs correspondent brian web shows us the damage left behind. >> typhoon slammed taiwan saturday, with wind reaching 125 miles an hour. more than 40-inch of rain fell, in part of the country, creating floods, and triggers massive mudslides. more than 3 million homes lost power, and rescue crews struggled to reach people stranded by flashfloods. >> this woman says she is looking for her friends, after a mud slide. at least six people are reported dead, including a eight year old girl, and her mother, swept out to sea. the girls twin sister is still missing. so far the strongest storm of the year has already weakened, but it is still expected to bring heavy wind and rain across the region in the

headline is coming, as we head into our work week, high pressure in control this weaken, been gorgeous with the sunshine, but monday, you start to see the next low pressure system rolling in. cold front with it. ahead of the cold front we start to see the stormy weather. certainly that's going to be the case as we get monday night into tuesday. little humidity going to be creeping in there, too, so that's going to change things for us. now, if you're wondering how much rain we're looking at? it is likely to be under an inch. looking at two models here, gfs and european model, both showing about eight, nine tents after inch of rain. so just enough to give us hopefully good soaking there. it will also help to bring down the pollen count. which if you're like me, i get little sneezy, certainly feeling it the past couple of days, today, and tomorrow, up about at a eight there out of ten. but as you can see, we get the rain in there. we drop down on tuesday to just a three. so little relief coming for you there. all right, so today, in philadelphia, a beautiful day. sunshine, warm, few clouds out there, eight a degrees. the wind nice and calm. beautiful as we get started into our day and our evening,

weather that will be coming up as we get monday night into tuesday, want to come back in just a few, we'll get you all prepared for your work week, but for now we head over to todd. >> kyla, thank you so much. happening today, family and french toddler killed in a hit-and-run accident, will gather to celebrate what would have been the boy's third birthday. back on april 13th, 2 year old david, and his mother, were struck by a hit-and-run driver, at the intersection of mascher street and lehigh avenue. the mother survived, but young david died several days later. to date, no one has been arrested or charged with the crime. the family says, it is holding the event tonight, to ensure justice for david. town of ferguson, shooting every michael brown, day where the eyes of the nation will focus yet again on the small mid western town. black 18 year old, by white police officer, darren wilson, sparked many violent demonstrations, across the country, and around the world. yesterday, several hundred people marched through the town led by brown's father. >> , if personally a lost, but a lot of good came out of my son and pushed because he is still right here with us. >> surrounded by family members, michael brown, senior, lay teddy bears at the spot where his 18 year old son was killed, a year ago, in ferguson, missouri. they wore shirt bearing michael brown junior's picture, and the words chosen for change. the brown family then led a four and a half mile march to the high school where the teen had graduated. hundreds took part, walking along areas, where violence and looting rocked the community, and the weeks and months following brown's death. the white police officer responsible was cleared of any wrong-doing. in the year since brown's killing, the city of ferguson has started making changes.

release dash cam video of the incident. >> woman shot by washington dc police officer, at the scene of a fire saturday evening. a warning some people might finds this video upsetting, witness captured the encounter camera phone, prior to the gun discharging you see the woman who was armed with knives moving toward the officer. police say he shot her once, after refusing orders to drop them. but eyewitnesses say, she was not a threat. >> knife in her hand, and like i say, she was no threat to the police. like she was going toward him, or she was like threatening him or nothing. so she had the knife. she was walking toward him, but she stopped. >> well the woman was taken to a local hospital where she was listed and report in the stable condition. >> the latest effort to honor a fallen philadelphia police officer get a major boost, a special basketball tournament was held at cobbs creek park at 61st and baltimore.

the community there has launched a campaign to name the basketball court there in memory of sergeant robert wilson. supporters signed petitions, sergeant wilson was killed during a robbery, in north philadelphia, in march. >> and, delaware county is rallying around a 12 year old recently diagnosed with leukemia. fifty teens participate in the wiffle ball tournament to benefit luke. the fundraiser was held at father nal fields in woodland, historiedly baseball teammates and others played 20 -- two, 20 minute games. he was diagnosissed when leukemia in june and grateful for the support that he's been getting. >> stay strong, stay tough, like you can get through this, no problems. and that you're one of the strongest kids that they know and that i can get through this no matter what. >> well, luke has not played baseball since diagnosed and he's anxious to get back on the field. good luck, luke. >> and the eagles fly for

toxic sludge that spilled from colorado gold mine into a river has now reached new mexico. the spill was caused by crews from the environmental protection agency, accidentally damaged rock damon wednesday. the epa says the muck contains heavy metals like lead and also arsonic. the agency also said that there is no way to get it out of the river. it is not yet clear what affect this will have on the local environment there. and, all evacuations have been lifted after a cooler weather helped firefighters gain more ground against northern california wild fire that forced hundreds of people from their homes. fire officials say the rocky fires now 70% contained, after sweeping through more than 100 square miles, about 3,000

rides, roller coasters, can't do it, but ferris wheel, no problem. looking good out there, everybody. let's take a look at some of the temperatures today. you can see, we've got about 74 degrees there in palmyra, 69 in mt. holly, doylestown coming in at about 68 degrees. if we take a look at hour by hour, we they had through the temperatures in philadelphia, we work our way up to eight a degrees, so those 80s coming our way rather quickly, we get into the afternoon. see some of the clouds starting to roll in there in the afternoon hours as well. we start with the bright sunshine. but the cloudy skies, an indicator of what's to come. we'll get to that in just a moment. headed to the shore today, should be gorgeous day, 80 degrees, mostly sunny, little breezy out there, we could see that win out of the northeast kick to up about 15, 20 miles per hour. water temperature nice. 70 degrees, but if you're in the water make sure to watch out for the rip current. we have moderate risk for rip currents today. take a look at storm scan3. this is gorgeous, just few high clouds off to the west, you can see barely anything on the radar there, just blue skies, all around, and we expect to see that as we head

through good portion of our day today. so comfortable temperatures. another stunner for our sunday. highs in the mid 80s, but, there is a but, sore bye, that on monday, as we get late near the day, showers, storms, coming into the forecast, and that will head into our tuesday, as well. so, let's take look at future weather, track it for you, so you what's coming your way. you can see as we get through our day today really nice, keep the blue skies majority of the day. 11:00 p.m. start to see few clouds rolling in from the west, to the overnight hours, clouds pick up, and that moisture starts rolling toward us in the afternoon, that's 3:00 p.m. monday. and you start to see a bit of a change here in the after moss fear, that rain really kicks in overnight monday into tuesday, in fact, look at 8:00 a.m. tuesday morning, some heavier showers possible. down in places like cape may. so we keep an eye on, that it doesn't really clear out for us until we get later into the evening, tuesday, sets us up for pretty nice looking wednesday there, so how much rain can we expect? we look at mod tolls determine. that will and we're predicting little less than an inch for both the gfs model and the euro model enough to
