keeping a look at the storms headed our way. >> we do have some time, really monday into tuesday, if you weren't a fan of the hot temperatures, these clouds certainly hemmed you out today, kept the temperatures right where they should be, 86 degrees what we reached officially at the philadelphia international airport, record high for today, 101 in 2001. again, no record temperatures or really even any 90s coming up for the upcoming work week. look at the numbers here, still upper 70s, 77 in dover, inland still hanging around the low eight arks reading, allentown, comfortable 78 in philadelphia. on shore flow off the atlantic ocean east wind keeping coastal temperatures low and mid 70s this afternoon and evening with the ocean coming in at 72. winds are starting to switch little more out of the southeast around ten, 15 miles per hour, so what that is going to do bring back the humidity. so already starting feel that. it is being shown by these dew point temperatures back to the mid and upper 60s. yesterday in the 50's, that's why it was very pleasant, now moisture starting to increase, and that's going to help fuel more showers and storms as we

head into the week. now, there are couple every sprinkles going on south and which is of philadelphia, down across northern new castle county, delaware, salem and cumberland, disturbance passing by, they'll dissipate over the next hour or so, otherwise partly cloudy skies overnight. tomorrow sunshine, low 80s, that's it for philadelphia. watch out for lay day shower or storm, we keep it in the 70s for the storm and the poconos. widespread rain coming up in the full for forecast coming up. >> first responders leap into action to save two people and a dog stranded on a burning boat off the coast of ocean city. this eyewitness cam video here shows the smoke billowing from the burning sailboat at about 10:45 this morning. the coast guard says the boat radioed sos then everyone on board hopped into dingy to wait for help. rescuers snapped these pictures as they race to the flaming 46-foot boat, remarkably no one on board was injured. still not clear what caused the fire.

also, tonight, man has been charged with capitol murder after eight people were found dead inside houston area home. victims include two adults, and six children. cbs news core upon dent brian web has more. >> forty-nine year old david conally surrendered after more than an hour of negotiations. authorities say he broke into his former home, handcuffed and shot six children and two adults in the head including his former partner, valerie jackson. >> mass killings, and the taking of the entire family, tragedy. >> harris county sheriff ace office got call from relative asking for check on the home when deputies spotted the body of a child through a window, they forced their way inside and say the suspect immediately opened fire. authorities say conally could be the father of one or more of the children. their ages range from six to 13. the sheriff says the exact motive remains a mystery.

>> the killer's motives appear to be related to a dispute with valerie, who was his former domestic partner. >> had been welfare checks at this home before. brian web, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". well, today it does mark one year since the shooting death of unarmed teenager michael brown in ferguson, missouri there is half noon, more than a thousand people marched from the scene of the shooting to a nearby church. eighteen year old michael brown's death sparked waves of protest and was the origin of the black live matter campaign. a grand jury cleared devon wilson the officer show shot brown of any wrong-doing. residents rally in philadelphia fighting a proposal to open a gun store in their neighborhood. >> everybody say no. >> opponents were out on the 500 block of north percy street in spring garden today. the proposed site was formerly column see mow's gun center which shutdown in 2009 as part

of plea agreement over illegal gun sales. the protest was organized by the group heating god's call to ends gun violence. they say it is no long area proper place for a gun shop. as you can see, there is all sort of new residential housing, there is more planned all around this area. we have a coffee bar right around the corner, that is thriving. there is much change to the neighborhood. this is a residential commercial neighborhood now, not an industrial neighborhood district. >> the proposal will go before the zoning board on wednesday. >> also, a local college student has died in a car crash in society hill. it happened at about 4:00 this morning at the intersection of fourth and lombard streets. police say the 21 year old driver hit a curb and crashed into a tree. he was ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle landed on top of him. three other passengers in the car reportedly not seriously injured. femmely and friends after

toddler hit-and-run were all gathered tonight what would have been the little boy's third birthday. little boy died in april after he and his mother were hit by a driver at the intersection of mascher street and lehigh avenue in kensington. his mother survived. police have still not made any arrests in this hit-and-run case. the family is demanding justice and says someone must be held accountable for david's death. >> nfl hall of famer and former announcer on monday night football frank gifford has died in a statement his family says gifford died of natural causes at his connecticut home. he played his entire nfl career with the new york giants, and was the league's mvp in 1956. gifford joined monday night football in 1971 and was a part that far broadcast team until 1997. he married current today's show host, kathy lee gifford in 1986. frank gifford was 84 years old. >> sunday surprise for two area high schools, students

>> eyewitness cam video of a fire tearing through a home in kensington. it happened this morning on the 4200 block of romain street. you can see the entryway engulfed in flames. we are told that no one was injured. anarchs typhoon that hammered taiwan and brought heavy rains and winds to mainland china has been downgraded now to tropical storm. typhoon left at least 20 people dead, or missing, over

the past two days. it collapsed dozens of homes and also knocked out power to more than a million people. officials say they evacuated hundreds of thousands of residents as the storm approached. search and rescue operation also currently underway tonight. >> a somber anniversary in japan today. dozens flocked to a mass in nagasaki, 70 years after the at tomorrow i can bomb was dropped on the city. the bomb detonated about 1500 feet from the cathedral in 1945. more than 70,000 people died. a procession was held today with the head of a statue of the virgin mary, which stood on the alter at the time of the blast. >> now to campaign 2016 news, republican frontrunner donald trump says he will not apologize for his explosive comments about fox news anchor megan kelly. many believe that trump was calling kelly hormonal when he referenced quote blood coming out of her where ever in a interview on friday night. but this morning, on "face the nation", the donald insisted

widespread showers, we need it, it's been a while since we had good rain. making good run so far with the temperatures keep it on cooler side, as women. at the shore, still looking pretty good at this hour, we had some clouds, not damn inning any spirit down there, people out enjoying the nice evening, shaping up in ocean city, clouds with little sunshine. temperatures cool, though, in the lower to mid 70s, along the coast with winds right off the ocean. but always good time to be down along the jersey shore, or delaware beaches. temperatures again, like i said, below average. today right where we should be. but more clouds and showers around. they'll knock temperatures back down into the low 80s, monday, tuesday, we see bump up to the mid 80s again wednesday, see the return to sunshine, but overall this week, temperatures stay below that average line, of 86 degrees. so if you're waiting for cooler weather you will enjoy this week coming up. i would say little depressing to show this this time of year. this is our sunset time tonight coming in at 8: 05. august 15th, and september 1st, setting 732:67:89 now losing more than two minute of daylight each

day as we head toward the fall season. seventy-eight current temperature in philadelphia, 81 still in wilmington, lower 80s in allentown, and in reading, so looks good up in the he lie valley for music fest tonight. again, you see no big heat across northeast and mid-atlantic. so temperatures stay where they should be really for this time of year. near average. couple of storm systems to talk about out across the central part. us. we have one moving into the ohio valley, will bring more clouds, maybe shower or two, especially tomorrow afternoon, and then more widespread showers coming in late monday night and tuesday, as cold front aproaches. here is the set up. high pressure over us, keeps us mainly dry, could be spring nel some spots this evening, otherwise partly cloudy skies. tomorrow starts off dry, into the afternoon, maybe scattered shower or storm as this warmfront approaches. and then the cold front approaches on tuesday, that bridges some steadier showers around, could be some heavier downpours, certainly some stronger thunderstorms, as the front pushes on through, back to dry conditions for wednesday, the sunshine returns, humidity levels start to drop.

temperatures, again, really not that bad this time of year in the mid 80s, we will talk about rain chances tomorrow. give it 30% chance, the high will be during the afternoon and evening hours. and those percent cents start to increase late monday night into tuesday. give it 80%, as the front moves through, then wednesday, zero, as well as thursday. do have nice finish to the end of the week. talk about some storm threats monday night and tuesday, we have the potential for strong thunderstorm and some spots. really the main threat, heavy rain, so downpours likely with the situation, could be some higher wind gusts, as well, certainly some frequent lightning. hail, tornado threat looks low at this point. let's time it out. not much happening overnight. tomorrow morning still good, some clouds around, showers try to develop later during the afternoon and evening, again, scattered, no need to cancel the plants, it is late monday night, 2:00 a.m., some steadier rain moves in, could be heavy. again some off and on showers really any time during the day tuesday, so tuesday will be our weather day. how much rain are we talking about? if you get heavier downpours in some spots could be seeing over inch of rain, indicated

by the blue here basically from the city on south and east. as that cold front moves on through. tonight, though, little bit more muggy, partly cloudy, 70 for center city, some 60s out in the suburbs shall watch out for afternoon storm monday, high of only 83 degrees, still cooler at the shore, wind off the water, northeast wind ten to 15 miles per hour, still chopping up the waves there. moderate threat for rip current. temperatures there upper 70s. again, widespread showers around, on tuesday. we dry it out for the middle of the week into next weekend. temperatures still nice. wednesday, thursday, and friday, then we warm it back up, upper 80s for next weekends. >> thank you so much, justin. very special day at the linc today? >> sure was. you know what, this is a lot about egg ooh else fans 43,000 fans went to the linked to to watch eagles practice, just practice. next sunday birds free season game against the colt. injuries already starting to mount. quarterback shepherd had to be carted off the field with a right leg injury. is he going have an mri tomorrow. last season the birds were thin at the inside linebacker

position. now with the addition of peco alonso, and with the return of demarco ryan after his achilles injury, phillie davis likes who he is working with. >> well, i think i've been through a training camp as a linebacker coach, where the inside backer doesn't get thin at some point in training camp, i don't know what it is about training camps. that happens. it is nice to have the depth we have. >> one of the biggest battles at camp between matt barkley and tim tebow for the thirds quarterback spot. barkley was the birds fourth rounds pick in 2013. he said he feels much more confident running the offense. >> i think i made strides, in knowing the offer edges, teaching guys be able to teach the offense, some of these younger guys coming in, tell them their responsibility on the go, so that in throwing mechanics, my arms bit stronger. >> good military day at the linc, eagles honoring members of the armed forces, special jerseys, then after practice the eagles took off their jerseys and gave them to the
