this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". get your play time in right now, kids. there is a chance of rain, maybe even some storms at any time today. good afternoon, i'm pat ciarrocchi. >> i'm erika von von von tiehl. gloomy skies out there right now. >> let's get to meteorologist, katie fehlinger, tracking the forecast in the weather center, may be storming today. >> really looking at more of scattered variety at this point of some showers, some thunderstorms, some could be little feisty. you know, we do have a slight or i should say marginal risk,

rather, for severe storms to fire up eventually at some point here today. and that's just because we're waiting on the passage of frontal boundery, that's what's got to happen. front has to cross, then going to clear out, and because it hasn't done so just yet it, looks as though both of our typical commutes certainly the morning was affected it, also now looks like the p.m. commute will also be impacted by these storms. so, let's take you outside first and for most here, live look for you on "skycam 3", we actually have some rain right now over philadelphia. it is the tiniest little pocket, though, when you look at storm scan3, look at this, you got to really zero in on that. it is just one isolated little pocket right over the city. enough, though, it has led to very brief but locally heavy downpour. brunt of the heavy stuff, though, you can tell it is well taught sea at this point. we zoom things out through the satelite coverage on top, put it into motion, you can already see up toward the lehigh valley poconos specially, there are actually some lightning strikes showing up. so it is just sort of sign of things to come. yes, these showers and storms will be scattered in nature.

but, they could locally produce some gusty wind, potentially some severe weather, generally the expectation is wind, heavy downpours, frequent lightning, but you will be slowed down, watch for the ponding, slow travel, all of those things that tends to come along with this kind of a weather pattern, and then fortunately patted, erika, looks like it will be with us in time for the typical afternoon and evening rush. back to you. >> katie, thank you. of course you can track the rain and storms any time on your smart phone or tablet. just download the cbs philly weather app on itunes or google play. >> we have some breaking news to tell but right now, bus hits and kills a man just steps away from philadelphia police headquarters and that driver keeps ongoing. "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry joins us now, near that scene, in center sit which more information on the bus, police are looking for right now. syma? >> that's right. erika, police have just wrapped up their investigation here at the scene, but a lot of questions have remained unanswered. what we do know is the victim

was cross nag crosswalk at franklin and race street, a little before 10:00 this morning when he was hit by a bus. now we do have video of the scene, of what it looked like little earlier this morning. now police are on the hunt for the bus after a fatally hit 46 year old man in this busy intersection. now, the only description officials have of the bus is that it is white. they don't know if it was a tour bus or transportation bus. they're reviewing nearby surveillance video to get more information. now, officials do not believe it was a septa bus, but they haven't ruled it out yet. we have reached out to septa officials, and wait to go hear back. now, on the scene, police found headphones, and a belt. they are unsure if it was the victim's, but they do want to take the time to remind pedestrians to pay attention to traffic even when they cross in the crosswalk. >> if you're a pedestrian, you have to be alert, especially everywhere, you can't be texting, we have learned since little kids, you got to look around. so, i don't know what the case

is, i'm not being disrespectful toward the deceased but that's a general thing out, there you are crossing the street, don't be texting, don't bewaring -- pay attention, full attention, because your life can depend on it. >> reporter: again, police are looking for a white bus with front ends damage. it may have gotten on the ben franklin bridge headed to new jersey, but officials have not confirmed that. police have not released the name of the victim, pending family note any case. now, investigators noon release more information around 3:30 this morning, once we get more details, we will pass that information along to you. live near franklin square, syma chowdhry, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". well, developing right now, it was another night of unrest in ferguson missouri as demonstrators marked the one year anniversary of michael brown's death. as correspondent don champion shows us, residents still cleaning up from the weekends violence that prompted a state of emergency. >> it has been another morning of clean up along ferguson's

west florence avenue after another night of protest. >> definitely not what we want the whole worlds to see from ferguson, like i said, we just got to come together, get through this altogether. >> by day, the stretch of the avenue filled with small businesses struggling to stay afloat, because after drop in customer traffic. the reason? by night, the avenue has yet again become a battlegrounds of sorts for protesters pushing for police reform and officers trying to maintain order. >> monday night, marks the fourth straight night of protests here, coinciding with the one year anniversary of michael brown's death. police moved in on demonstrators when some began throwing rocks and frozen water booth. >> twenty-three people were arrested along the avenue here, last night, monday, county officials declared state of emergency, to help police control the protest. >> last night, there were new concerns, over heavily armed civilians who call themselves the oath keepers. they mix in the with protesters, and claimed to be protecting people who worked

for a website called info wards. the st. louis county police chief called their presence a necessary and inflammatory -- unnecessary and inflammatory. don champion, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> police in gloucester country investigating the circumstances surrounding a bizarre hit-and-run overnight. it all happened after a fight broke out on the 600 block of quincy court in glassboro. police say that a man suffered a head injury when he attempted to stop a vehicle leaving the scene and was dragged. authority are looking for three women and a man who fled in a dodge neon. >> the search also continues this noon for the cause behind this deadly house fire, it injured three firefighters in parksburg, chester county. crews were called to the home on the 300 block of main street, just before 5:00 a.m. authorities say that an adult resident was found dead inside, as well as six pets, a dog, and five cats. the injured firefighters were treated at the scene. >> donald trump is still on

on which camera you look at. so, actually we take you on baby tour of some of the neighborhood network cameras, gave you a sense of that, too. we go ahead, take you outside, start things off as you might expect on storm scan3, especially when tracking the active weather, very good place to start, and, you know, your eye gets drawn to what already happened. already the heavy rain moving out of here now. more so out toward the cape, heavy rain up through new england, and we're really just left with some clouds, few very isolated pockets of showers, but where we've had them, as we actually saw in syma's live shot earlier in the show, she is getting drenched out there. so just depends on your location, but that's going to be the story throughout the course of the day. this whole mess does pull away later on tonight. meantime break in the clouds, where the severe weather risk comes into play. marginal risk, in other words, lowest on the totem pole. i would say at worse talking heavy downpours, gusty win, perhaps some lightning, we have already found that, with

some of the little pockets that have bubbled up out there. but this spans whole delaware valley, so anyone fair game. meanwhile we jump ahead in future weather to 1:00 p.m. not necessarily this widespread, little bit more spread out in fact on future weather, should be more scattered than this. but, you will still find a few showers and storms rumbling through, notice the timing, just in time for the typical afternoon and early evening rush. so when these come through, you may be dealing with the ponding on the roadways, the poor visibility, and it may be brief granted but it will be out there. so we will be impacted by that, i think. overnight skies start to clear. but there may even still be a shower that tries to fire up through the day tomorrow. we have to keep an eye on that. let's go ahead, take you out to the neighborhood network cameras that i mentioned moment ago. off in the distance somewhere is the center city skyline, you can't finds it at this point, but clearly the tell tail signs of not just shaky camera, but also the wet weather. and raindrops that are on the camera lens. meanwhile, this is live shot. looks like they're actually

mowing the lawn out here on the soaring or field kutztown area middle school. solo case, location, location. prep much the bottom line here. you may be finding sun right now, over of you stuck in a gray sky with pouring downpours at this point. meanwhile, a look at the area temperatures, generally just in the low mid 70s, little bit warmer where you have start today see the sun break through, and in philadelphia, as long as we get some of the sun, we should still make easy run for the low 80s today. rain clearly bulk of it anyway now out of here, but some showers, some storms, still on the way, as we mention, we time them out for you already. by tomorrow, skies are clearing. thursday, looks awesome. and then we start to heat up. flirting with or actually hitting 09 degrees for couple of these days coming up here. but i don't see any kind of major storms in site over the weekend there will be front that moves, in maybe bridges shower or storm. otherwise we are pretty much in the clear as early as late tonight. >> all right, just make it through today. >> absolutely. >> coming upton on "eyewitness news" at 5:00 we are all guilty of this at some point, right, playing on your smart phone too much around children.

so first it, seems to me like laugh yourself skinny means you need to be kinds to yourself. >> yes, that's definitely the core message. so many of us tried to hate ourselves skinny, and i really believe we need to have fun and start laughing ourselves skinny and love ourself skin. >> i as opposed to looking into the mirror and starting to laugh because it is so sad. >> right. >> now, okay. a lot of us cut calories, first thing you hit, okay, lose weight, cut calories. you don't opportunity cut meals, right? >> right. i don't recommend cutting meals or calories. really skimp back will send your body in starvation. which means, your body's metabolism will definitely slow down. so, whatever you do end up eating, will be packed on >> operate mal calorie burning time, that time between eight a.m. and 2:00 p.m., where your metabolism is really hot. you want to casino of shift your food to be more focused during that time.

so you're not skipping breakfast, you're not skipping lunch, and saving until you go out to dinner. you're making sure you get healthy breakfast, healthy lunch and bald dinner. >> so let's talk about exercise too. because it would be really great. i start to cry when i know i have to go out and exercise. and really has nothing to do with laughter. so can you overexercise? i mean i feel like i can never over ex exercise, i probably don't do it enough. >> you think slimming down, oh, exercise more. but there is a point where exercise actually doesn't help the situation. and it puts your body in a stress response where your court sole levels spike, and when your court i sole levels are hype, going through your body where your metabolism also slows, and pack on the pound. no matter how many hours you're on the treadmill. >> i feel like you can't throw a rock without getting a juice cleanse out these days. juice cleanses do, they have a place. >> do they work? what do youy? >> when it comes to juice cleanses great for detox g.
