switching gears here and new this morning philadelphia police investigating a a deadly shooting in west kensington. police say it happened just before 1:00 outside of a bar at tenth and cumberland. that victim is described as a black male in his 40's. police say passerby took the victim to temple hospital where he was pronounced dead. they say people inside bar heard the the gunshots. >> there were some gunshots nearby and unfortunately not a lot of help with the shooting. >> reporter: police are reviewing surveillance cameras that may have captured the shooting. suspect is still at large. philadelphia police are investigating circumstances surrounding the deaths of the man found floating in the schuylkill river saturday night in manayunk. "eyewitness news" reporter steve the pather son has more. >> reporter: swept away. >> what we thought would be a rescue effort became a recovery effort. >> reporter: rescue crews respond nothing manayunk saturday night, call shortly after 6:00 a man goes in the

schuylkill river and is reported in missing. in an hour later search crews make the discovery. >> we have deployed our members in the the river and we were able to recover body at that time. unfortunately this gentlemen had expired. >> reporter: emergency officials say the man, believed to be in his 50's, was last spotted in the water, near the hidden river blues festival at venice island park. how he ended up in the schuylkill is now the focus of the police investigation but emergency workers cautioned care and respected the river. >> it is very dangerous to swim in the schuylkill, because of the currents, we do not recommend it at all. >> reporter: at this point police not releasing the identity of that victim. of course, causes under investigation. reporting from the news center, i'm steve paterson for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". meanwhile three people are recovering after a hot air balloon crashes in earl township lancaster county. this happened just before 8:00. police say pilot was attempting to land when top of the balloon got tangled in

overhead electrical wires n word how badly that pilot and passengers were injured, faa is investigating the cause. air travel is back to normal after a major computer glitch saturday caused thousands of cancellations and delays. cbs news correspondent weijia chen has the the latest. >> reporter: lights-- flights are taking off on the east coast including reagan national. thousands of flights were canceled or delayed, saturday. >> my flight was canceled, they rebook me to get to st. louis and then canceled the flight. >> reporter: faa traced the problem back to a computer glitch at its air traffic center in virginia. the system controlled high altitude air space for all three washington d.c. area airports. that meant flights had to detour around the the area. isaac gonzales was one of the frustrated passengers waiting it all at new york's laguardia airport. >> i'm staying in the airport

in a place i don't know, and i will be here all night until the the next flight in the next morning. i'm not happy. very upset. >> reporter: others took to twitter. hashtag, feels like mardi gras only without the fun. all flight canceled, no fun here. weijia chen for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". the push to raise the minimum wage for low wage work's cross pennsylvania, is getting some steam here in philadelphia supporters hit the streets of the center city to protest wage in equality. they called on lawmakers to boost minimum wage to $15 an hour. currently minimum wage is $7.25 in pennsylvania as compared to 7.50 in delaware and 8.38 in new jersey. argument poverty rates are too high and pay for food service workers too low. >> i'm trying to get higher wages, because, you know, i need more money to support me and my child. >> i have been a community organizers for many years trying to solve many problems

health reporter stephanie stahl has more on the new age problem. >> reporter: you see it every where parents on their cell phones instead of the paying attention to their children. how do you feel when your mom and dad are on the phone. >> sad. >> sad. >> kind of sad. >> reporter: one survey found a third of children said their parents spend as much as or more time on their devices then them. >> children of all ages, use the same adjective to describe how they feel when competing with screens for their parent's attention, angry, sad, frustrated and lonely. >> reporter: survey found more than half of the kid feel their parents check their devices too often and a third say they feel unimportant when their parents are distract by their phones. >> children, it could look like mommy or daddy is not engaged. >> reporter: psychologist say parents looking at their screens often respond more harshly to their kid, and it can be dangerous. >> we have seen a 22 percent spike in preventable accident with children and caretakers using their digital devices.

the driver got out and ran from that scene after hitting several parked cars. a neighbor heard the the accident. >> the next thing i hear this little girl screaming, and another child screaming, and i heard a woman, a mother, and she was screaming as well and said we're about to have something horrible happen and they took her in an ambulance to the hospital. >> very scary. that girl is in stable condition at st. christopher's hospital. a plane crash in northern new jersey, killed the pilot this happened behind a child care center in west caldwell essex county. witnesses say that plane crashed shortly after taking off from essex county airport and landed in the wooded area matt kosar from our sister station wcbs has more on the crash. >> reporter: witness hose saw the plane crash and felt the the explosion ran toward the wooded area to help but there was nothing that they could do. >> second he started to explode you knew what happened. no way anyone walks from that.

>> reporter: shortly after taking off from the the essex county airport around 10:00 a a.m. the pilot of the six seater, 2009, zest in a, radio the control tower that he was unable to maintain power. he declared an emergency, returning to the field immediately. the tower responded. reporting to, witness statements it appears that the aircraft may have lost engine power. he crashed in the wooded area a half mile from the airport. >> it looked like it was making a turn and then it just kind of nose tied right in the ground. the as soon as it hit the ground it exploded and there were two more explosions after that. >> reporter: police say the 50 year-old pilot a new jersey man, was the only one on board he was a flight instructor on his way to teterboro airport to pick up a student. five investigators with the national transportation safety board will work to determine the cause of the crash. >> we currently know that we

have all four corners of the airplane on the scene. it didn't lose any parts in flight. we have evidence of the post impact fire. >> reporter: people who live and work near the airport said they feel fortunate that the aircraft didn't crash into a building. >> it is so close to where i work. >> i just feel numb, i cannot believe i just saw that. >> reporter: that was matt kosar reporting. police are not releasing the name of the pilot. the ntsb is bringing in specialist from pennsylvania to investigate that crash. it is 6:36 right now. the red cross is assisting three families displaced by a devastating row house fire in trenton, new jersey. flames ripped through five homes on the 200 block of hills place around 10:00 o'clock friday night. two people were taken to the hospital, including a fire fighter for heat exhaustion. there is in word right now on their condition, the the cause of the fire is being investigated. a heat wave is scorching the southwestern part of the country, excessive heat warnings have been posted in
