problems sky-rocketing back to the mid 90s here today. officially shooting for 94 in philadelphia, and that will officially make it heatwave for us here since we did hit the low 90s both saturday and sunday, and you remember, you need three days straight, and we should have no problem make that happen here today. over to you. >> already in the 70s, early still dark out, there as you can see, evidence by our camera outside. live look 95 southbound near cottman, disable tractor-trailer pulled all the way out to the right, blocking part that far right lane. this is certainly going to cause some problems if that doesn't get out of the way. fortunately we already see officer probably trying to move. that will steady stream of vehicles coming around the bends there. what happens when you have this many vehicles coming around the bends they tap their breaks. come around, not expecting it and see the officer out on foot, certainly if you are leaving now, make note that far, whenever we have someone out on foot. specially when it is dark out, drive very carefully, morning

construction the schuylkill expressway, westbound, between belmont and sit avenue. this is where we had red cone zone. in the right lane, that's now since cleared. you're open two lanes of traffic, good news, because it was starting to heat up there. then the ben franklin bridge, looking good for those of you traveling over from jersey, nicole, over to you. >> thank you. happening now, dozen of bus passengers stranded, hoping to catch a road to new york but their bus no where to be found. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live for us at the greyhounds bus terminal in center city, where i can imagine patience is running very thin, january, what's going on there? >> good morning, not just a new york bus, many different buses going to other cities, that have been delayed or haven't showed up at at here on scene, coming to you live from the greyhound terminal. you can see people standing outside now wandering what's going on. dozens upon dozens here, waiting, frustrated,

concerned, and really just upset, that the that the buses haven't showed up. we've been talking to a lot of people her already this morning, i talk to one woman who was waiting on a bus to ohio. >> here we are well past 5:30, nothing has arrived, really more frustrating than that, no information coming out every greyhounds about why these bus haves been delayed in the first place, and then, when a driver will show up their get these people onto their next destination. so, there is a lot of frustration here, this morning, and we even reached out to greyhound, we haven't heard back, just yet. i was able to go inside and talk to some employees in there, they say, that right now, they are just waiting on available driver to come pick these people up. they also say they are giving refunds to passengers, who have paid with credit cards, they're able to credit that card back right now, however, passengers have paid with cash they don't have the funds to refund the people because of course they see security reasons for having that much carbon site.

homes in idaho, washington, california, and oregon this morning, flames scorching dry brush, acre after acre. andrew spencer with the latest as record high temperatures making it difficult to crews trying to contain those flames. >> picking through the return, former homeowners try to salvage what they can. >> pretty unimaginable. there is no preparing for this. >> officials say lightning sparked four fires around washington, town of about 4,000 people. the flames, spread quickly. >> i felt like peers brosnan in dante's peak, literally out running flames at 06 miles an hour, one and a half thousand homes were evacuated, flames destroyed another hundred. >> it was a panic zone. but still, you know, we had enough time, people coming up telling us, man, get out, don't act like you can stay. >> biggers fire by far burning in the southwest corner of idaho, the soda fires burned more than 283,000 acres, 442 square miles, and area larger

than new york city or san diego between that fire and the lawyer complex fire in northwestern idaho, more than 1600 people are working to get the flames under control. crews continue to work in eastern oregon as well. to figure out how many homes and out buildings have been destroyed. the canyon creek complex fire, has burned more than 34,000 acres. and of course, all over drought stricken california, wild fires continue to burning, as well. andrew spencer, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". certainly, we could really use some very beneficial rainout toward california at this point. but, it doesn't appear as though that will be the case any time soon. meantime, a loft activity courtesy of this building el nino over the central pacific. we haven't had too much in the atlantic, but finally starting to see a little hint of activity, not a guarantee this will turn into anything, but there is an area of low pressure showers, thunderstorms, starting to show signs of development here just off the coast of africa, about 50% shot, so, you know, one in two chance basically

this actually turns into something. i do want to also check in with the eyewitness weather watchers, real pretty pictures, actually from yesterday. but i had to show them to you, so pretty, came in from phil, look at the sunrise, see similar view i think actually here today as high pressure still in place, he took this one out at brigantine, and another just well, i just love it, just beautiful shot, well organized here shot of the bird on the beach in the early morning hours. so pretty. let's go next, actually showing awe list from the eyewitness weather watch ers too of the temperatures, threes over the last half hour or so. and you're already into the 70s, in a lot of locations, so, that said, being off to such warm start here as we are, that only means that it will heat up very readily, and very easily, from here. let's go back again, to the graphics, take to you storm scan, where it is quiet as can be at this point. you still have high pressure building in place, that's going to keep things going, with the sunshine, but remember, with a counter or i should say clock weiss

rotation around the high, start to draw your wind flow out of the southwest at some point. as that happens, you start to really build on the humidity. now, that said, water temperatures starting to climb for us nicely here, if you are trying to beat the worse of the heat, the beach is not a bad place to go, into the 70s already, even flirting with 80 degrees at the off shore buoy at wildwood, so not shabby. in the meantime keep you generally mid 70s for the water temperature, temperatures in the air mid 80s, and great excuse to hit the beaches here, but, do keep in mind that sun is still awfully strong. make sure to take care, latter on the sun block, back in the city, air quality becomes an issue. that will be the story around most of the region actually here today. but low 90s, keep ongoing right into the middle part of the week for us here. and then we finally, well, i wouldn't say cool off, but at least break out of the 90s degrees stretch here, with new frontal boundary brinking in specially wet weather thursday, we could see spotty shower or storm pick up as early as tomorrow night, or wednesday, and then lingering even into friday. so the bottom line here, it is

a hot week, it is a steamy week, and it is looking like pretty active one at this point, too. >> absolutely, i always think about that heat in terms of water, and spf. don't leave those dogs in the car. we hear so much about that now, so hotty got my in my car yesterday, oh, only sitting there for 30 minute, and yikes. so no accidents to report, we do have disable tractor-trailer, 59 southbound near cottman. the right lane block, so this is what you are kind of seeing, see the vehicles, they're coming around this bends, slamming on the brakes, and trying to move on over since they're blocked here, and it is causing some slow downs a lot of them coming around this bend here they see the flashing lights and it is causing major slow downs, in fact, i show this already, not even in the 6:00 hour. >> yolk, this will certainly cause slow downs because of the disable, coming around the bends. that's where they are getting hook up. they didn't know that that was there. slammed on the breaks, trying move over, definately going to cause slow downs, so give yourself couple of extra minutes in the area, i think that's a good idea.
