>> police dispatch tell us officers responded to the scene early this morning, for report of a child shot. a ten years old, police on scene, aren't saying anything just yet. they say they are waiting for a public information officer to arrive to give out more information. in the meantime, you can see, police are still on scene investigating here, the crime scene unit has been butts i on the 700 block every townsend place in wilmington, we've seen officers flashlight, walking around, in and around the homes here, looking for evidence, dispatch tells us just before 2:00 a.m. police were called to this area for reports after ten year old child shot. we're told that child was taken to the hospital, but no updates on the condition of that child at this time. and police say, no one is in just today did i right now. back out here live on scene you can see investigators are still here, crime scene aoun sit still here. and just as soon as we get more information we will bring it straight to you. for now live in wilmington,

january carabao, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank you. new this morning, car hit an utility pole knocking out power to part of philadelphia's roxborough neighborhood. car took down wires at the intersection of shawmont avenue an eva street, then caught fire. the victim has been returned to a hospital. >> also, police think robbery was the motive in a shooting in north philadelphia. officers found 33 year old man wounded near 15th and hazard streets just before 1:30, necessary critical condition. >> police hope that surveillance video will help them track down the gunman. >> and, a fire in philadelphia's somerton section is under investigation this morning. it happened around midnight. that happened at the haldeman manor apartment, near haldeman and the boulevard. one person suffered from smoke inhalation. red cross helping 11 displaced tenant. no word yet on how that fire started. >> 6:04. local teenager faces some very serious charges. essays cured every kidnapping,

raping, and beating a five year old little girl in north philadelphia. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us now at police headquarters with more on the disturbing story. justin? >> erika, good morning, suspect in the case just ten years older than his five year old victim, 15 years old, and now facing charges that include attempted murder, rape, acervate dollars assault, as well as wreckless endangerment. we will not show this victim's face. we first brought you this story late last month. hemp mother frantically searching their north philly home after not finding her five year old daughter the morning every july 28. she laters did i covered his daughter outside in the backyard, her mother says at first she was not sure if her daughter was even alive. she found her barely conscious, and bloody in a patch of high grass. her daughter did manage to tell her a bit about what happened. she said she recalls waking up in the overnight hours, and seek a strange man in their upstairs row stairs hallway. it was no man, police say,

just a boy, only 15 years old. he went later mercilessly kick and punch her in the face and stomach. first police say he took her from her house. >> the male took hold of her, literally lifted her up, at some point, carried her outside of the property, and there physically assaulted her. >> the level of violence at the end of the day no matter how we define it is beyond de pail. >> and the special victims unit say the victim was able to positively identify the suspect, in this case. he is also facing charges of kidnapping, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment and aggravated indecent assault. live from police headquarters, justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> justin, thank you. live picture right now, family, friends, of philadelphia police officer moses walker gather for community prayer anibal on

so, first comes the warmfront, sluggish in its movement, as well, and then eventually we agreed to await the cold front still pent up way back over the central planes, that's going to take few more days to get here. so it is thursday that that finally crosses through. we keep the 90s for one more day, looking ahead to the possibility of scattered shower or storm tomorrow, as we sit in the soupy atmosphere, and then jump into thursday. when fresh round of more widespread showers and probably some heavier thunderstorms, too, are likely to be rumbling on through. at this point, no major concern for severe weather, but we need things to sort of evolve there. give it another day before we really start to pinpoint in on. that will meanwhile, outside we go to the live neighbor network, middletown featuring with it low-lying cloud cover with the very light wind and all of the moisture to work with outside at cape may courthouse. 71 degrees, feeling awfully muggy, pretty much everywhere right now. nine about the expected hi, spotty shower, storm being nothing more today. same idea tomorrow, even

bancock intersection killed at least 20 people. overnight, authority released this surveillance image, showing suspect wearing a yellow shirt, and a back pack. he was seen entering the site with the back pack and then running away without t at this hour, police are calling him the bomber. >> andrew spencer reports on the carnage. during monday evening rush hour, a bomb rocks bancock, thailand. >> huge explosion, i could feel it. it is like somebody just pushes you. suddenly out of the blue. >> like that, huge gust of winds, breeze flying through you. >> on the sky walk, but didn't know what it was. >> two cars collided, and something just exploded. but what i felt was ominous. >> attack hit shrine in bancock, popular site among

break from the heat at all. this is what, the fourth heatwave this year? seems like we kee getting these, kate. >> i yes, we get them every year, at some point, right? >> this is the fourth time now that we've done it, yes, little statistical information to start off the weather hit. we should keep it going for one more day, and then the temperatures start to drop. like you said, the moisture, always the gauge you have to go by, so would start things offer by taking you out to pretty graphic, and throw the numbers up, dates more specifically, heatwave one, happened back in june, two, back in july extended up this one back to august, here we are at number four on the docket. but, even though we do have question mark there we have a good idea when this will wrap up. still one more day tack onto make it four day heatwave. we start to see more cloud cover building in, only so much warmth you can build up

ten year old child was shot now in serious condition at the hospital. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us now with the latest from that scene. jan, good morning. >> good morning, indeed, this is where the investigation is well underway right now. police dispatch confirmed ten year old child was shot in wilmington, delaware, early this morning, right now, you can see the crime scene unit behind me here on scene, dusting the window sill therefore fingerprints. looking for any evidence that might point to suspect of hire on scene however, police, aren't saying anything more just yet. say they are waiting for public information officer to arrive to give out more information. in the meantime, again, you can see, police still on the scene, and investigating. now the crime scene unit has been busy here overnight on the 700 block every townsend place in wilmington. we've seen officers with flashlights, earlier this morning, walking in and around these homes looking for evidence, and again, now they are dusting for fingerprints

fifteen year old boy remains in custody accused of kidnapping, raping a five year old girl in north philadelphia. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us now at police headquarters with the latest information for us. justin? >> reporter: erika, police tell us that five year other girl was able to positively identify that 15 year old suspect at this time. he is accused of kidnapping, beating, and sexually assault that girl in the area of her north philly home back in july. now, she was found barely
