a horrific accident in, south jersey, when a car, slams into four children, the youngest was just three years old. also, egg harbor township police are searching for the vandals who caused 35 you this dollars worth of damage at a street hockey court. and happening today, jared fogle, former face of the subway is expect to plead guilty to child porn charges. good morning, today is wednesday, august 19th, i'm quarter von tiehl. we have some good news getting a break from the heat, heat wave is over, bad news is the humidity is sticking around. it feels so sticky. lets check with katie and meisha, good morning, ladies. >> good morning. we are looking good. katie, i have to tell you, i believe that we might the not see slippery roadways this morning. >> absolutely. >> we have that going for us. >> we have to look at the bright side. you roll out of bed. you know it is humid. in one wants to go out in this

i-95 southbound, coming around s curve in center city looking good, heating up as we see at this time. you can expect it certainly to heat up, as evidence all week long if you have been with us. schuylkill westbound at girard you can see headlights and taillights moving through the schuylkill. it is a busier stretch so far this morning. in accidents to report. then construction on the pennsylvania turnpike westbound valley forge to downingtown left lane is block, there, and of course, we have a baseball game verse blue jays tonight, go phillies, erika, over to you. tragic accident in south jersey four children hit by a car, one of them is kill. authorities say, authorities say ages three to eight years old in, southampton when they were struck. police say one of the victims died, another is in critical but two are in serious condition. and, driver did remain at the scene. happening today, preliminary hearing for tameika mason, only "eyewitness news" was there when the 27 year-old turned

herself in last month for a fatal hit and run for a four year-old boy. police say latif wilson ran in the street and was struck by a car in april. mason faces charges of homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter and related offenses. more than a month after a raid that took many people by surprise, former subway pitch man jared fogle is expect to plead guilty to child porn charges. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch joins us with more on this. when this story broke, everyone was so surprised, jared the sandwich guy. >> is there still so much we don't know but citing sources our sister station in indiana reports fogle will plead guilty in a deal with the federal sometime today. it has been a swift fall for fogle who was quickly removed as subway's spokesmen once the investigation came to light. jared fogle's subway spokesmen days are done, now that the 37 year-old famous face is tied to the child pornography investigation. >> it carries five to 20 years

for each pornographic image. so assuming there are more than one, the possible penalties facing mr. fogle were very harsh. >> reporter: criminal defense attorney jack crawford does not represent fogle but is watching the case. last month fogle's indiana home a half an hour north of indianapolis was the site of the multi agency raid. u.s. postal and state police were on the ground as fbi agents were seen walking alongside fogle to and from his house. some seen holding computer hardware to scan, as part of their investigation. >> the government's evident must be very strong. i'm sure mr. fogle has good lawyers who have counseled with him and said that this is the property thing to do, in order to protect him from a much heavier sentence. >> reporter: in april fogle fired this man russell taylor who was director of his charity, the jared foundation. taylor's dismissal came after he was accused and later jailed an on child porn possession charges. back on fogle's block this

neighbor who doesn't know him still find the charges a alarming. >> having him reside in our neighborhood is concerning. >> reporter: before the probe, fogle rose to face with claims that he lost some 200-pound in college on a subway sandwich diet, a platform that the pitch man par laid into hundreds of subway commercials and other high profile appearances. now you subway is publicly severed ties with fogle again saying on twitter their relationship is over and there will be no further comment about fogle. we are also awaiting comment from his lawyers who remain tight-lipped when questioned yesterday and this is a story you will recognize jared for so long with subway. it is hard to believe it is even happening to him. >> you wonder where the brand goes, he has about with them for 15 years. right now we have 6:06. we have new developments in the criminal case against pennsylvania attorney general kathleen kane. court documents unsealed by state supreme court show kane was told in december she had

right to release pornographic e-mails. last week at a press conference kane claims that she still needed court approval to do so. kane contend that the pornographic e-mail chain by employees is at root of the charges against her. the she's accused of leaving grand jury information to embarras a political rival and then lying bit. not guilty is how chaka fattah is pleading to corruption charges. eyewitness muse was there when fattah walked in federal court yesterday. three weeks ago the 11 term democrat was indicted on 29 corruption counts. federal prosecutors say that fattah used charitable donations and federal campaign fund to pay off a illegal million-dollar loan after a failed run for mayor in 2007. >> i am innocent of each and everyone have of these allegations. i fully expect that when we vet these allegations, that we're going to get to a point where they will in longer represent any cloud on my very

good reputation. >> fattah was also photographed and fingerprinted. police are looking for vandals who caused 35 you this dollars in damage in the street hockey court in egg harbor township. someone pulled the plastic decking from that court on ocean heights avenue and then wrote on it with a bicycle will or a tv leaving behind those marks. officials say that the damage occurred sometime between 9:00 d 5:30 p.m. on sunday. >> it is a punch in the gut. you know, you have people, everyone out here is volunteer. they put this time and effort to make it as good as they can for the kids. it hurts. it makes you very angry. but at the end of the day the organization i know will respond. we will rebuild it, and it will be as good as new. >> eyewitness observed a group of 20 kid on bikes near the court, however, they did not see anyone doing any damage to the court. if you have any information on who might be behind it, you

nice wide zoom, very same storm that brought in that torrential downpour over wrigley field. it is pretty well organized too. we have that classic comma shape or candy kane depending on what you see here in the cloud but with that good organization, this will be just your classic midline cyclone. so at this point it is difficult to detect north front lifted north. so cold front back here. warm front lifting in. you are in that sector with the humidity continuing, and because we will end up with more cloud cover, we do break the heat wave but we don't lose any of that humidity. not much relief unfortunately. not looking at the drought machine torah cross the united states, northern tear for the most part, say for west of the rockies we don't have too much to speak of. we have had a wet summer, all things considered, but that exceptional drought continues here for basically the entire central portion of the california. now that we are seeing this

developing el nino that should help matters in terms of the rain, down the road, but they have been battling wild fires left and right because of that. meanwhile bringing it back to our coast, we will end up with a spotty shower or thunder storm here today and weave been talking about the phillies back in action tonight. it will be muggy out there, folks, we will stick to the the seats. it is a bit more comfortable, 7:05 p.m. while we will seal a shower or storm it is very spotty. not a guarantee we will see any wet weather at all but we have to allow for it. tomorrow is when that cold front gets here, heavier rain looks like it comes through thursday night in, to the first half of friday. but at this point i'm in the worried too much about severe weather threats but it looks like friday morning, meisha, ears perk up here that could be a rough morning for us. >> i was thinking about that. >> thank goodness today, wednesday are typically busy but in rain on the roadways today. it is one of the those things we have to take within day at

good morning, do you want some good news, we are getting a little bit of the break from the heat but we are still stuck with the humidity, it the is so sticky, we are tracking some storms, for the the rest of the week, so that little bit of good news is

pea soup when you walk out you feel like you hit a wall of moisture. looking at the map we have got 70's, mid to up are 70's in some spots. we have an easier way to look at everything. seventy-three from margot. eileen at gilbertsville. seventy-three from ed from chester feel. we are in the mid 70's from peter, as well as phil, 74 from kenneth, in willingboro. it is a really warm day. very consistent around the region as a whole. lets take a look where this is all coming from. here's bottom line. we have classic mid latitude cyclone. here's the center of the circulation, cold front draped back here. warm front up here. not as easily to distinguish but in between we will sit in the warm sector of the storm. the it is a moisture rich air mass. we will heat up from here, not continue to heat up on the thermometer, but, bringing in more moisture. it feels really just uncomfortable outside. and because we have got so much moisture we could see a spotty shower or thunderstorm

scattered around the regional radar at some point through afternoon and into tonight. by tomorrow that front, finally starts to cross through and it is sluggish, huge but it will take its time but especially into tomorrow night lead nothing to early friday morning. we will be on the air friday morning with some heavy rain to track. we will deal with some of that wet weather, likely not as much severe weather for our area, because of the timing. the fit comes late at night you don't necessarily have the necessary instability, with the the heating of the day to get nasty storms but we will keep an eye on that. then we will look to much more pleasant weather at this point weekend is looking good. partly sunny skies overall and temperatures very seasonal too in the mid 80's. good news about the weekend and for morning commuters. we have dry roadways. no rain this morning which is good. we have an accident on i-95 south on the cottman. this as we push toward rush hour this will cause considerable slow downs. we are seeing that i-95 south at cottman. these two cars are block ago
