and portions of chester county let's get into it. you can see this line of rain progressing through new york state and our region as well. heff crest rain again north and west of philadelphia lots of lightning with this and lots of heavy rain it's not over yet for south jersey getting steady rain at the moment and watching this line in eastern maryland which eventually will lift into portions of delaware. so we still got several hours of heavy rain to get through and again our first flash flood warning of the night for our local region has just been issued and it's thanks to this line of very heavy downpours moving through portions of especially upper montgomery county upper bucks and into northern chester county as well. you can see the lightning associated with this the red shading an indication that rain could be falling at the rate of one to 2-inches per hour in the center of this stop. getting hit right now upper and lower frederick over toward marlboro headed toward 476 northeast extension. really going to slow things down for anyone in that area we are adding lightning strikes as we go through this evening very heavy rain at the moment that's our biggest threat.

here's your flash flood warning this goes until 3am a few of the cities and towns associated in this flash flood warning perkasie lansdale skippack my hometown of phoenixville. in bucks county buckley ham, doylestown, warrington and ivyland in that flash flood warning. in addition to that, a number of flood advisories are in effect right now from chester montgomery and bucks counties right through berks county and up into the lehigh valley a quick fly around of that area indicative of where the heaviest rain is falling and the flash flood watch does continue for the entire region until early friday morning. the rain will continue to progress eastward through the next couple of hours. it could eventually get into philadelphia though it does look as though the heaviest will stay to the north. overnight expect scattered showers and storms with downpours ponding on roadways, poor drainage flooding and of course the threat for flash flooding. coming up we'll time out the rest of the storms i'll tell you when they move out want to expect as we head toward the weekend. for now jessica back over to you. >> kate, thank you. at the movies, new security

measures. it's routine now days to have your bag searched at sporting events, concerts and of course at the airport. but now they will get searched at some theaters, too. our natasha brown has more on the new regulations in place at local theaters. >> reporter: recent shooting at movie theaters in lafayette, louisiana and pep mr. spray attack by a hatchet wielding man with a pellet gun on movie goers in nashville, tennessee, a week later, have rattled the safety of movie goers. once innocent pleasure of attending movie disrupted by several acts of violence. >> i know times have changed since i was younger, and this is the world we living in today there's a lot of that going on so i mean we need to crack down as people. >> reporter: regal entertainment group has responded to the rash of violence at theaters around the country. it's become the first large u.s. movie theater chain to introduce bag searches for movie goers. >> there's certain number of people that cause the rest of us to have our rights basically taken from us.

south philadelphia, natasha brown cbs3 "eyewitness news". no criminal charges will be filed against two bridgeton, new jersey police officers over their use of deadly force. cumberland county prosecutors announce the grand jury decision today. the officers shot and killed jeremy reid during a traffic stop last december and that encounter was captured on police dash cam video. the quickly escalated when one officer yelled he saw a gun. the officer told reid not to move but he forced his way out of the vehicle and the officer opened fire. civil rights leaders plan to ask the justice department to investigate. >> our contention has been from the out start that we have no faith and trust in the comer land county's office to hold their own accountable and they proved us right. >> the cumberland county prosecutor removed herself from the investigation because she knew one of the officers. new tonight, a coast guard rescue at sea and it is caught on camera. take look at this coast guard video. a 34-year-old man aboard a

commercial fishing boat suffered a puncture wore 35 miles east of pep wick island delaware. coast guard cutter arrived to help then a chopper from atlantic city was brought in and the man was hoisted a board. the injured man was taken to atlantic care regional medical center where he received treatment. >> 37 days now until pope francis arrives in philadelphia and we have details on a new effort by the city to inform residents about the crowds, the closures and get aig round. a bubble over philadelphia all the rain has been splitting to the north and to the south and the city hasn't really gotten much. steady to moderate rain around 8:00 p.m. then it dried out and few of these showers may clip the city as they move through. but otherwise got kind of a diss rec here. here's where the heaviest rain is at the moment. it's over mainly montgomery county and just counseled up estimated at least on corm scan 31 they are lightning strike in the course of about five minutes with this. so this is a very electrified storm. italy has a lot of heavy rain with it moving through colleg collegeville at the moment. that's where some of the heaviest is as you head towards hatfield toward 309 you can see that almost dark brown maroon stayed shading there with the rain an indication of very heavy downpours. an inch has fallen almost in many spots. up to twenty fours and that could exceed 2-inches by the time we go through the rest of tonight. your flash flood warning through portions of the bucks county, through montgomery county noon the very northern most corner of chester county.
