nicole, it will be an absolutely stunning weekend. more important lip, are you ready for lower humidity? wasn't that something yesterday? my hair, yes, definitely. beautiful out there everybody. gorgeous today. and the weekend altogether looks really nice. let's take a look at the neighborhood network. see few temperatures and the area. you can tell we're nice and cool. sixty-six into new castle, millville, bensalem, about 64. not bad walking out the door today. pretty darn nice. taking a look at storm scan3, you can see, it is beautiful. few clouds, just rolling on out there at the coast. and it is going to be a stunner after beach day, too, out there. so if that's where you are planning to be today, boy, things are looking real good. so let's take a look at the next few hours, we head into the noontime hour. we stay in the 70s, the sunshine comes out, comfortable, pleasant, i think that's the word for today. both of them, both comfortable, and pleasant, mostly sunny skies, see high of 79, and low humidity, so

gorgeous saturday, pleasant humidity level, love that. monday, though, little more heat kicking in. so nicole will be talking about that when i come back. you know the humidity levels can't last lick this, it is august, right? so little more heat in here before it is all said and done. >> kyla, thank you. >> happening today, dozens of protesters are expected to gather at planned parenthood offices across pennsylvania and new jersey, now, they say their protest in response to recent videos released by pro-life activists speak about the buying and selling of fetal organs, all part of national day of pro protest with rallies set to take place 300 plus planned parenthood site across the nation. nurse's union that represent part of atlantic, cape may counties has authorized strike. this week the union vote today strike if they can't come to contract agreement with shore medical center in somers point in the near future. the union reps prokely 350 nurses, two sides are expected to return to the bargaining table tuesday.

meanwhile, philadelphia police officer, off the street, and under investigation, this after video surfaces showing him pressuring a driver to buy fundraising ticket. "eyewitness news" reporter natasha brown spoke with the man in that car who shot the video. >> the driver who recorded this exchange with a philadelphia police officer during a routine traffic stop had no idea the video would go viral. >> money for your police department, ten bucks either, you buy these or i take your car. because it is unregistered. >> we met up with the driver behind the video being rob, he didn't want to be identified, but he says he was shocked that the officer appeared to be forcing him to buy the particular nets exchange for towing the car, which was unregistered. >> i thought woe have gave me a ticket. i thought he was bluffing me. it wasn't the tickets, it was the point. he showed me no respect. >> the tickets were for the hero thrill show, annual fundraiser, benefitting

children happen of fallen police officers. commissioner didn't minutes words when it came to his reaction. >> i thought it was stupid, certainly inapropriate. no part about the video i like. no part that's justifiable at all. >> the officer identified as 32 year old matthew zagerski, nine year veteran of the force, uses homo knob he can slur while talking with the driver of the car. >> not only is his language on one of the tapes homophobic, obviously, is a violation of our policy, not what we expect from our officers, but then the second video which deals with the tickets for the hero thrill show is equally bad. >> rob's video has rack up hundreds of thousands of views on social media. since he posted it thursday night. despite the unusual encounter, we asked about the thrill show tickets he bought.

>> i'm probably going to go. i'm still going to go. i mean, i bought them. >> the officer has been placed on lever pending outcome of internal affairs investigation, and the police commissioner tells us he could also be facing criminal charges for misconduct, at police headquarters, natasha brown, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> family of jeremy reid will hold press conference in bridgeton new jersey later today. the event is a public protest of cumberland county prosecutor's office, it decided this week to not prosecute two white officers who shot reid during traffic stop last december. in past, they've indicated they have no fate in the cumberland prosecutor. today's press conference scheduled for 4:00. >> twenty-one year old man in critical condition after he was shot several times. police found the man around 10:30, friday night, 2400 block of west 1st st. in the city ' strawberry mansion section. no suspect in custody. police still searching for that shooter.

>> and philadelphia police also investigating an overnight shooting in west philadelphia. that left a 22 year old man dead. police responded to the 5400 block of norfolk street just after 1:00 this morning, victim had multiple gunshot wounds, transported to pennsylvania hospital where he was later pronounced dead. no suspect in custody at this time. >> three americans are being held after tackling and disarming gunman on high speed train from amsterdam to par ills. gunman opened fire wounding two people before the three american passengers subdued him beating him unconscious. air force servicemen spent to, was one of the americans, country in the hospital, after being stabbed in that incident. his injuries are not life threatening. the other two americans have been identified as anthony saddler, senior, at sacramento state university, and national guards man, alec scarelatos. gunman not identified but

authority say he is 26 year old man of more okay and origin. security officer shot by gunman at federal office building in new york city has died. police say kevin downing walked into the building in lower manhattan, and shot cam allari in the head around 5:00 yesterday. the gunman then walked through the metal detector and killed himself. downing was a veteran and former federal employee at the bureau of labor statistics. police say the motive for the shooting is unclear. >> the stock market saw the worse lost of the year on friday. not good. the dow plunged more than 500-point every fears of global slow down wipe out this year's gains. mary maloney explains what happened, and what is next. >> tensions high on the floor of the new york stock exchanges, as traders watch the numbers on the big board fall. this closing bell signalled the end after bad week for america's stock market. dow plummeted 531 points,

making it the worse week on the market since 2011. >> what's going on right now, nasty wake-up call, not so much about what we know, but about what we don't know. here's what we do know. there is a funds mental fear around the global market. one reason, china. there are concerns china's economy is slowing down, faster than what the chinese government has reported. another worry for wall street, oil. for the first time since 2009, oil prices dropped below $40. compare that with a year ago, when barrel of oil was about $100. not only does it hurt us energy stocks, throws wrench into the economy. us federal reserve has been sending out mixed signals whether it will raise interest rates in the next month. uncertainty with the central bank mix the markets uneasy, for some investors, that means, taking a break from the stock market games. but we won't know the fullest extent until the market open monday, to see if this just was a bad week or the signs of much bigger problem.

>> what this will do to consumer confidence, investor confidence, also what it will do to the feds. >> marry maloney reporting. >> there is some good news, if you are hitting the road this weekend, gas prices are falling to the lowest levels of the summer. now, we found prices between $2 in hainesport, burlington county, drivers paying 199 per gallon, country farm on marne highway. gas prices are falling because a boom in oil production is out pacing growth in global oil demand. >> now, here in our area, average gas prices are down about 1 dollar from last year. it is 2.62 a gallon in pennsylvania, new jersey drivers paying 2.23, delaware drivers are paying 2.39 at the pump. so, that certainly helps, doesn't it? it is 5:09. still ahead on "eyewitness news", an emergency has been declared in washington state after firefighter struggles to fight wild fires. the latest on the battle and local crews lend ago hand. >> also, it is the pregnancy post that went viral. our own katie fehlinger talks

declared an emergency there. three firefighters died battling the blazes, and authorities say they have no idea how many homes may now have been lost. cbs news correspondent danielle nottingham has the latest. >> reporter: at least 13 wild fires continue to rampage out of control across washington state as firefighters work sometimes in vein to save houses and other structures. outside this morning, brad armstrong's employees were bulldozing brush, to protect his home from the threatening flames. >> i haven't seen any firefighters or anybody around. >> right. they are all out where there is little more dense population right now. >> resources stretched so thin, government officials are now asking civilians for help. owe mack retiree, butch peers, signed up today. >> anything they want. i'll run a shovel, cap, water trap, lou bo, anything they got, i'm 69 years old, i've seen a loft stuff in my lifetime.

i am telling you guys right now, you have never seen anything lick this. when that fire is coming toward you, it is like armagetton. >> a solemn procession last night was a reminder of how deadly these fires have become. three firefighters were killed wednesday when their vehicle was overcome with flames. and the weather only making things worse. high wind doubled the size of one fire overnight. elaine and her husband had to pack up their trailer and flea. >> it is devastating, and it is hard, because you got so few firefighters. we need a lot more firefighters. this is a vast area. >> danielle nottingham, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> and new jersey is sending a additional 20 firefighters help battle the raging wild fires in montana and washington state. members of the state's forest fire service are expected to leave over the weekend or early neck week. they'll supplement 32 firefighters including three

about danny, a hurricane, category two hurricane, definitely still pack ago punch there. 100-mile per hour sustained winds, but, you know, it is expected to weaken. that's the good news, and, keep in mind, we have places like the virgin islands, puerto rico, dealing with drought. they can desperately use the rain. good news if it stays nice and weak and continues across it weakening by the time we get in next week to 35 miles per hour before it comes close to us. good news there. let's talk about some weather closer to home. temperatures right now we mentioned 70 degrees in philadelphia, 64 in trenton, cooler air in mount pocono, 58 degrees for you, 64 for dover, as we zoom out, we take a look at the region overall, new york city about 71, if you are head today dc about 66 degrees, but i have to say, if you are hitting the roads today, it is stunning, all across the region. so should be great. dew point, as you can see, are in the 50's, that's what makes a big difference here, is that we're feeling less moisture in the air, that's why we get break from the humiditiment taking a look at storm scan3,

monday, get humidity back in, but then back to the nice low to mid 80s, nicole, i like it. >> man, what a week. kyla, thank you. as many of the viewers know, our cbs-3 meteorologist, katie fehlinger is expecting, it is a happy occasion of course for katie and her husband, but recent comment on social media have katie firing back with what she is calling a mother's manifesto. kate bilo sat down and spoke to katie about the comments. >> katie officially began her ninth month of pregnancy today. several months ago she let us all, including viewers, in on the happy news that she is having twin girls. >> so since you first announced your pregnancy on air, you have gotten so many people that have been supporting you. you feel like you're sharing your experience with the viewers, because you are going through the experience on the air, and they are commenting and saying the nicest things. >> but it hasn't all been nice. we all know people can say some very mean things. and there are a couple of comment recently that were the last straw. >> there was one particular comment that really hurt.

alexandria joints us where one. protests is scheduled. good morning. >> good morning, nicole. all comes as response to undercover footage released in july showing planned parenthood executives talking about the sharing and harvesting of fetal tissue and organs, just yesterday, pennsylvania health department released findings that the commonwealth is not participating in this act. but not everybody is satisfied with that answer. >> a casual lunch conversation about a graphic medical practice. >> a lot of people wanter. >> undercover tape discussion about fetal body part preservation has stirred controversy since being released by the group center for medical progress earlier this summer. >> but it was the mention of possible profit for the unborn tissue that pushed congress to investigate. >> i don't care how much political weight planned parenthood throws around this town. no one is above the law. >> the law condemns the sale

49 years, thousands have walked up and down this south philly sidewalk, but many have no idea what happened here on july 15th, 1966. a plaque, honoring a 29 year old philadelphia police officer, named george jacobs, sits just few feet from south philadelphia high school. jacobs was on the job only a few weeks, when he was shot and killed on snyder avenue near broad street. >> i heard he got killed. it really tore me apart. >> retired police officer joe haggarty worked with george jacobs, and remembers july 15th, 1966, vividly. all these years later, he's never met his friend's killer. >> i wouldn't want him. i would have killed him myself. >> told "eyewitness news" the pain rush back this week when he found out that someone spray painted jacobs' plaque. >> you didn't hear me, did you? i called them a very nice name. >> the relationship between haggarty and jacobs started in the early 1940's, in south philly, when george jacobs showed little joe how to play
