headlight. this we will see heat up as we progress to the 5:00 hour, of course, during rush hour, very busy, so certainly 95 southbound at girard, in and around the area trying to make your way into center city. give yourself couple of minutes, even now moving into the 5:00 a.m. hour. a look at the schuylkill expressway at spring garden. looking good on the schuylkill, basically anywhere i look, everyone traveling around at posted speeds 422 eastbound at observation, headed toward the king of prussia area, traveling at posted speeds in and around the area very good company. also new jersey construction, bellmawr area, 295 southbound route 168, that off ramp was closed until 6:00 a.m. happy to report that's now cleared, so not going to cause any imagine or slow downs, then here is just quick line up of mass transit. everything is running on time, west trenton line bussing today. over to you. >> thank you. want to give you live look again at the gaping sinkhole in kensington, we just got this in right now.

water is back on for all residents there. so good news, hopefully they slept through it, didn't realize their water was off. intersection though as you can see again looking live at the scene is the intersection of tulip and huntingdon streets t remains closed while crews repair 12-inch water main break. pgw also on the scene assessing damage, hearing no customers have lost power. >> relief for drivers at the gas pom up this morning, prices down, have you seen the prices in drivers in new jersey, are getting gas for less than $2 a gallon. "eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco has the story as drivers are happy to see some extra money back in their pockets. >> i think it is great. filling up the gas tank monday night, feels like deal, where handful every south jersey station haves dropped prices below $2. trouble with the world markets, is actually putting money back in joe kelly's pocket when it comes to his weekly gas budget. >> sixty, $70 if the price is high. >> and tonight?

by mid-day, rallied back, the sell off though resumed in the afternoon. the dow finished the day 588 points lower, the nasdaq fell 180 points. switching gears, there are some safety concerns this morning, about newer jeep suv's regulators looking into more than dozen complaints, but the vehicles can roll away unexpectedly after drivers put them in park. the investigation covers more than 400,000 grand injury cheese from 2014 and 2015, at this point shall the vehicles aren't being recalled. >> h and m going green, offering million dollars prize for anyone who could come up with a new way to recycle clothing next week the company's also launching new pair of jeans made with recycle cotton. >> great idea, jill, thank you. see you later this morning. 5:36 right now. the company behind the cheating website, ashley madison, offering $378,000 reward, for information on hackers, who compromise the site. police say the hacking has

triggered extortion, and led to 2-inch confirmed suicides. hackers released records on millions of people registered with the website, whose slogan is life is short, have an affair. >> investigators are working to connect the dots between two killings in louisianna. one of the murders claims the life of state trooperment andrew spencer report. >> at the scene where louisianna state trooper was shot, a truck, registered to a man found dead at his home in lost bluff, in cosseted did i, the driver accused of killing the state trooper, a man who may be linked to the other killing as well. >> we do have information to believe he was a resident at that location, maybe not permanently, but at least staying with him, we have have not established that yet, whether's friend, whether he is a relative. we have not gotten that far in the investigation yet. >> police say trooper steven vincent found in a ditch a pick up which matched reports of one seen driving irradically. police say 54 year old kevin

>> headlines today, water service just restored in kensington neighborhood. they were without water after water main break triggered large sinkhole, still working on that right now. >> also, investors eyes will be on wall street later on this morning, china's main stock market took another beating overnight. however, european shares advanced in early trading. >> and all that in a settlement of the worlds markets means gas prices are actually down. some new jersey gas stations, some of them, gas is less than $2 a gallon. it the ninth straight week as prices are down. this time last year, drivers paying a dollar more per gallon.

so, some good news if you have to fill up this morning. >> sad to say, summer winding down, almost the end of august. labor day weekend, less than two weeks away. and, as the season nears an end, beach-goers will need to be extra cautious. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan's in ocean city where some popular spots will no longer have lifeguards. >> lever guards manage somewhat challenging ocean conditions. >> piercing yet reassuring sound of the whistle was a bit fainter for those who park their beach chairs on 13th street. lifeguard stands down there, and the green swim flag replaced with red caution ones, catching some people off guards. >> we do normally expect there to be a lifeguard, but, i didn't, yes, didn't realize it. >> unfortunately even lifeguards have to go back to school. short on staff, ocean city beach patrol made the first rounds of beach closures, 11 guarded beaches close in the various spots from the north ends to south of 59 street. >> you know, it is an inconvenience, at the same time, unfortunately, don't

always have enough time to keep every beach open as long as we would want tonight with that, we still have over 38 beaches open. >> as summer winds down, beach patrols begin closing more guarded beaches, more responsibility falls on bathers for their own safety. you need to check the weather conditions, and check before you come to the shore, which streets still have lifeguards. >> we recommend swimming from a guarded beach, if you are going to choose not to, make sure that you're always being very vigilant about water conditions, never, never think it might be okay, always lay on the side of caution. >> keep in mind, storm activity in the drop things time of year can cause rip current at the jersey shore. >> still summer for many weeks. well into september. it is good beach wetter. >> with a little extra preparation, and measure of caution, you don't have to say good-bye to the shore just yet. in ocean sit, cleve bryan, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> hard to believe almost time to go back to school. sorry, kids. we want to show your back to school photos, though, right here on cbs-3, here is one, our own nicole brewer, do you recognize her in the little

off at lewes, 73 degrees objection coming in from eagleville. clouds at this point. he does still have pretty high humidity. that said, when we speaking of humidity, fran also mentioned he's got pretty high humidity, 68 degrees for him right now. nice temp, but little muggy, asking if it will be a bad hair day, actually, i think it actually gets better and better with time here, simply because we tart to see the dew point drop off with time. so maybe start with a ponytail then you can let your hair down and it will be just fine. greg sent in for the most part just some clouds as well at 72 degrees. and he actually sent us great shot from last night, he was able to capture as you look closely some cloud to cloud lightning from last night as the storms came in. that was from the frontal boundery that we are still tracking, still trying to make its retreat. but go ahead, take you back in time here so far for the month of august. looking back at the last few years, few highlights, the wettest august we have seen happened in 2011. we had over 19 inches every rain, a lot had to do with irene, eight, 90 plus degrees

days in 2012. no 90 degrees days in 2013. only 190 degrees day, last august this one, already ten in the last 25 days, at 09 degrees. soap, the pattern that's settling in here, pretty darn nice one overall. as you'll see. here's what's left of the front we were just talking b still see few additional showers firing i am primarily at the shore points at this point. but this front is going to be making its full retreat, we clear out with time, from northwest to southeast. humidity clears out with time from northwest to southeast. stowe just feels better and betterment and then, i mean, this is the stretch of days that you want to enjoy. mid, low 80s, full sunshine, low humidity, that's wednesday, thursday, and friday, meisha. can't get better than, that right? >> oh, you really can't. then you know you come to me in this picture, look what's going on behind me. such a buzz kill. thanks, katie. good morning, everyone. it is still early. we can't always be the bearer of good news, we have an accident here, delaware county, around ridley park, and this is after the blue

again. it is being heard by growing number of people. new research shows, a 300% increase in people with second cancers. stephanie stahl speaks with a speaks with a local woman with incredible story of survival. >> each birthday is a important milestone for you. >> you better believe it. >> at 72, judy bernstein loves every birthday she gets to celebrate with her family, talk about beating the odds. she survived eight different kind of cancer. >> i'm very lucky, none of them are metastatic. >> judy who lives in montgomery county part of new trend. there has been a dramatic increase in people being diagnosed with second cancers, they're different malignancies, not a row currens. >> this isn't necessarily bad news. >> no, i would flip it, good news, actually getting so much better at treating people that they actually live longer. unfortunately then at risk forgetting another cancer, but the only reason that is happening is because they've

done real well from their first cancer? doctor who are wits, chairman of radiation at fox chase, says it starts with improvement in cancer detection, for judy who has been married for 51 years, her cancer odyssey started when skin cancer, then, 16 years ago, lymphoma. >> how did you survive eight cancers? >> everything was caught early. early detection is the clue and cue to living with cancer. >> most recently, she had radiation for cancer around her eye. >> do you feel sick? >> look at me. do i look sick? >> doctors say second sans ers can be difficult to treat. radiation options are limited and radiation can increase the risk of causing different cancers, and even heart disease. i'm stephanie stahl, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". 5:50 right now. and one might expect that buying a puppy for companionship would be positive experience. but, one california woman says it has just been a nightmare.
