we are following breaking news this morning, huge flames, spread by a natural gas leak in an apartment building in montgomery county. we are live with the very latest on how this fire is affecting residents. good morning, it is wednesday, august 26th, i'm erika von tiehl. i'm nicole brewer. a hero's home coming. one of the three americans who helped take down a gunman on a paris bound train is celebrated this morning. back in sacramento they are thinking parade, and, so proud of these guys. >> yes. >> heroes. >> absolutely. >> and your our local hero with this forecast. >> yes. >> it feels amazing, out there. >> is it august, i know.

>> yes, i'm sure. >> and it is not just today we will getaway with that, by the way. isn't that nice. we have nice weather attached to today and as we head into thursday and friday but heat i will not tell you it is gone for good. we have to get through this month. september can be a a hot one too. lets look at where we are, because today is gorgeous. 70 degrees in philadelphia you can see wind at 5 miles an hour out of the north. really nice there. 51 percent humidity. that is making it feel so lovely when you walk out the door. up on the sky deck a few moments ago and i wanted to stay out there. it is really nice. temperatures 07 in philadelphia 59 in allentown. fifty-nine in reading. sixty-three in millville. wildwood coming in at 63 as well. everybody please an. storm scan three is showing just how clear skies are. look at this, barely a few high clouds. you have to head back into new york state to find them back into parts of the western pennsylvania. looking terrific. that is what we will see throughout the the day-to-day.

543. the north bound lanes are completely closed, so use an alternate such as 295, but this is a very serious crash that happened overnight. you can see crews, out there taking picture, taking video. this is a crime scene. they are still doing their investigation work. give yourself a couple extra minutes in and around this area taking a lot at the schuylkill eastbound before the conshohocken curve, you can see travelers moving in the eastbound direction. headlights coming toward the camera. certainly getting a little bit more busy on the schuylkill and i-95 southbound at cottman just starting to build that volume in that area as well. overall it should be a pretty busy morning. nicole, over to you. meisha, thank you. we are updating the the breaking news we have been covering all morning in montgomery county. a huge fire races through an apartment building in king of prussia this impacted a dozen apartment and forced more than 30 people out of their homes. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live with the update from this fire, justin? >> reporter: erika and nicole, within the past few minutes the the last of those flames have been put out, fire

fighters tell us at least, 30 people have been displaced by this fire and all 16 units in this building here, at the abrams one apartment complex has some kind of a fire damage to it. we're on bill smith boulevard here at the the complex here but lets take to you video from the scene earlier here, at its height witnesses and fire fighters say tall flames and waves of thick black expect consumed this complex. first responders going door to door here to knock on those doors toe vac the wait those residents. this fire was reported first at 1:30 or so this morning. king of prussia fire arrived to the scene here. the fire was then raised to two alarms and crew from his all over montgomery county came into assist. at one point during the the fighting of this fire, a water main broke which caused the problems initially but water was able to come back on by other sources, to continue, to soak out the flames here. the fire was brought under control by about 3:00 o'clock or so this morning and in all, the fire chief tells us that

50 plus fire fighters were on hand to bring this fire under control, he is in the middle of the fast moving conditions, that utilities like gas, electricity, caused some challenging. lets take a listen. >> the fire is separate from the initial fire. we are not sure. it is under investigation. it is still burning here, it is a gas fed fire. structural fire itself is under control but we have a gas fire that is still being fed. the electric and gas is a problem also. >> reporter: as we saw a few minutes ago the last of the flames from the gas line were brought under control. fire fighters are now douse ago this area and kind of telling the the soil where that fire was, emerging just minutes ago. at this point no reports of any injuries, the fire fighters or resident here at the complex. we are told that those affected are working with the red cross and also the management company to find some housing for now. we are live from king of prussia, i'm's justin finch

for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thanks, justin. meanwhile, parents are concerned schools in the cash strapped chester up land school district might not opened up on time. school board discussed how to close a 24 million-dollar budget short fall at chester high school. earlier a judge refused the district's request for a 20 million-dollar reductions and how much the district must pay charter schools for special education students. judge refused to slash four million-dollar that the district must pay for students in cyber charter schools. parents tell us they are fed up with the district's financial problems. >> mainly parents are concerned. they want to know why is this happening once again and they want to know where is the money going. >> parents say no decision was made on if schools will open up on time. right not, 5:36. business news this morning, maybe a question you don't want to think about on your way to work, how much time do you spend stuck in traffic. >> probably too much. we would all agree. and is what going on with wall street. money watch's jill wagner joins us live from the new york stock exchange. that is a question a lot of us

have, jill, good morning. >> jill? >> good morning, nicole and erika, we could be in for another wild ride on wall street. yesterday dow jones finished down two hundred and five points, nasdaq fell 19. those closing numbers though don't tell the whole story. stocks surged at the opening, at one point the dow jones was up 441 points. rally was wipe out by a stunning sell off in the last hour of trading. investors are concerned about a china economy. whether a slow down there will spread to the other markets. the market haven't had a correction in four years. for the first time amazon says customers of its prime now service will be able to order wine, beer and other alcohol for deliver any less than one hour. amazon is testing that service in seattle, first. and this won't come as a surprise to anyone who commutes by work, who commutes by car to work, excuse me, grid lock is getting worse.

new study find that the average commuters spend 42 hours a year sitting in rush hour traffic. in philadelphia, it is even more than that, about 48 hours. traffic is a lot worse in d.c. where commuters sit in 82 hours of traffic a year. followed by los angeles and new york. when you are sitting in that traffic, it is the worst. >> that is why you have to bring your snacks, get your coffee. >> digging in the lunch bag. >> we don't have a commute, five minutes to work. >> working overnight helps too, i'm with you, at 3:00 in the morning. >> yes. it is 5:38. the plans are underway in sacramento for a celebration parade, honoring the hometown heroes who took down that heavily armed man on a paris bound train last week. >> just a nation. >> three men have been awarded france's highest honor for bravery and aster i okita reports present sacramento, one of them is now home.

okay, we have breaking news right now a fire forced dozens of people from their homes. huge flames, tore through an apartment complex, in king of prussia earlier today. natural gas leak, fed more flames. there are no reports of any injuries. also breaking a serious car crash in burlington county, one person was rushed to a hospital after this crash on route 130, about 2:00 this morning. so far that victim's condition has not been released. republican presidential candidate donald trump has a uni vision reporter kicked out of a press conference yesterday, this is after 15 minutes. did he allow jorge ramos back in. ramos was grilling trump on his immigration policies. 5:44. setting up a home security system doesn't have to be hard
