here in philadelphia there is still a lot of questions about security information. our syma chowdhry is along ben franklin parkway with more on new survey that find businesses are not happy about the flow of information in dealing with the papal visit, syma. >> reporter: that is right, jessica. according to a new survey many businesses don't feel the city provided them enough information, to plan for the pope's visit. we did speak with one business owner, who says, that he understands the struggles for an event like this but he is pleased with the cities efforts. this soup business is looking forward to some good, clean fun during the papal visit. this is the co founder of duross and lanning he will of 13th and samson a spot in the middle of the francis festival ground, formally called the traffic box. he and his partner sarah, are excited to cater to tourist that weekend. >> looking for unique shops where they might be able to take home a sue newer. >> reporter: they have a salon and yoga studio that will

close for business during the pope's visit. they feel they were given enough information from officials, to plan for the store to stay opened. >> some folks feel that it is better to close, we just are kind of, throwing our hand up and saying, let's just see what happens. >> they explained to us exactly is what going on and what our expectation should be. >> reporter: according to a survey conn talk by city controller with 68 businesses responding, 86 percent said they felt that they were provided with insufficient event details from city officials, of that 48 percent said they were still able to stay opened. 38 percent of the businesses say they have in the been able to plan for the the pope's visit. >> this event to reach its greatest potential, business community needs to be assured that they are planning concerns and need will be addressed. >> reporter: ninety-one per percent of businesses say traffic box creates challenges like getting supplies and getting employees, to work. duross left it up to his staff to decide if they want to come in or not.

"eyewitness news" at mar why the hotel at navy yard where there was a casting call for the pope in philly. city tourism agency, visited philadelphia working on a video aimed at getting people excited the the event and calming their fears. extras had to dress business casual and bring a piece of luggage as a prop. coming up at 6:00 our pat ciarrocchi walks the parkway with the executive director of the world meeting of families to talk about the idea, of the papal visit. we will have that exclusive interview for you, ahead on "eyewitness news" at 6:00. in monmouth county a mother, sister and two small children are dead and authorities believe it may have been a murder/suicide. they found a family inside a

burning home overnight in long branch, new jersey. "eyewitness news" reporter alexandria hoff is in long branch right now with this story, alex. >> reporter: just a couple minutes ago we saw friend, some family members, they stopped by to drop off teddy bears and balloons in memory of the young family. you know, from outside of the home it is hard to tell, aside from scorched siding and broken glass just level of the devastation that occurred inside and now police say this is no accident. >> it just hits close to home. >> reporter: brandon medina lives across the street from the empty long branch property. >> i heard bang going on. you think there was a fight or anything like. that i ran outside. >> reporter: from the corner of eastwood and jolean avenue he saw that the house was on fire. >> screaming, and a lot of chaos and you feel helpless. >> reporter: despite attempts, police and fire fighters could not pen straight heavy smoke separating them from the family of four upstairs. thirty-five year-old linda, and 29 year-old, amanda morris

with brandon and brian beeharry ages seven and 46789 they were taken to the hospital where they later died. that is where the story takes a turn. >> i can tell thaw looking at this scene, at this point in time, that when the fire department went inside that they located more than one origin of this fire. we can tell thaw based upon what we see, that this is not an accidental fire. that we are looking at this as a potential intentional fire that was set. >> reporter: on top of that, medical examiners told investigators that the injuries that killed this family were not the fault of the fire. something that brandon says that he suspect when he did not immediately see the fire of four, flee that home. >> you should have more than enough time to peak your head out of the window or get downstairs and that is nerve racking, but i hope the investigators figure it out and get to the bottom of it. >> reporter: father of that family is said to work for

public works department for the town, collogues have said simply he was a nice guy. so one of the big questions remaining is the father did not kill this family but who did. that is what police are looking into right now. this is being investigated as a possible murder/suicide. live from monmouth county, alexandria hoff for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". sad scene there alex, thanks very much. an arrest is made in the scandal that rocked north penn high school. graduate admitted to police he distributed photos of current and former students. the investigation began in march when a juvenile female told ambler police she uncovered a web site with numerous nude photos. today authorities arrested and charged 18 year-old brandon tyler berlin of montgomery township. they say he compiled the photos and then sent leaks to other people. bail has been set at $10,000. our september heat wave will continue with another hot and hazy day out there. some people loving this weather, others say they could

leave it. no matter which category you fall into, you better get use to it. meteorologist justin drabick is live on the sky deck with a first look at the forecast, justin. >> jessica, that is right it does stay hot and humid for at least another day. we have some clouds outside right now but not enough to really cool us down, once again, we're running a good ten or 11 degrees above average. we made to it 93 degrees so far in philadelphia at the airport. that is the official high temperature. it can get worse. our record high is 100 degrees. that was setback in 1953. no record anytime soon. heat wave will continue, the the fifth of the season, this is an extended one, we will go back to sunday and tomorrow we're still looking at high temperatures in the lower to mid 90's. currently low 90's for today. cooler at the shore. nice breeze off that ocean. ocean water at 75 degrees. that is keeping temperatures around 80 degrees. the nice and quiet on storm scan three, a few cloud, temperatures stay warm but dry, skies are mostly clear.

we will have more on the labor day weekend forecast in a few more minutes, back to you. obama administration wins battle with congress over the iran nuclear deal. deal has enough votes to survive a republican vote against it but israelis critical of the pack with iran. secretary of the state john kerry addressed them in a speech at philadelphia's national constitution center today. >> this agreement puts us on the right path to prevent iran from ever getting a a nuclear weapon. the the people of israel will be safer with this deal and the same is true for the people throughout the region. >> critics say the deal gives too much power to iran and threatens the stability of the middle east. a judge has just ruled all six baltimore police officers charged in connection with freddie gray's death will be tried separately. gray's death prompted riots and unrest in the streets and judge denied the state's motion to try these officers as a group. gray, a 25 year-old black man died one week after sustaining

injuries following his arrest. april 12th. for the 13th year planes are flocking to the the beautiful beaches of atlantic city for the atlantic city air show this year performances were spectacular. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan is joining us now to see how this show just wrapped up, cleve. >> reporter: ukee, picture perfect weather for this air show. there were a few cancellations for performances because of the access to previous air shows last month. everything went off safe today and by all accounts this was a huge success o for prop planes, to super sonic jets, the sights were breathtaking at the annual the atlantic city air show and the the sounds. >> my gosh, it is like a rumble through the the whole, you know, beach. >> reporter: that is why they call it thunder over the boardwalk. >> it sound really loud.

so far my favorites have been f12 raptor. >> reporter: the air show is a chance for the military to recruit and inspire. >> the public is reminded by seeing all of this of what this means, and they are reminded of men and women who are serving overseas in very different circumstances. >> reporter: this year we're reminded of the risk involved in aerial demonstrations. honor recently deceased pilot andrew wright, army parachute performer sergeant corry hood, the sky typers did a tribute path minus one plane. >> i almost started to cry, i did. some tears. it was so sad. >> reporter: while sorrow lingered patriotism soared. this year marked the returning of the blue angels who have not performed here in nine years. their signature turns, and nearly impossible formations provided the grand finally for family friendly event. >> it is just a good day out. kid get to enjoy the air show, i enjoy it too. they sit by water and stay

controversial new study. >> reporter: not everybody is on board with this one. there is still debate about the safety of e cigarettes, but this new british study says that people who wanted to quit smoking were about 60 percent more likely to succeed, if they used e cigarettes, compared to would be quitters who tried patches, or gum. olivia blocky is trying to stop smoking for good. >> she tried to quit before but then started again and now is turning to electronic cigarettes for help. >> i'm buying a vape. >> my e cigarette to get back into more healthy lifestyle. >> reporter: new british study shows smokers switching to e cigarettes significantly reduce their exposure to harmful toxins even if they light up cigarettes from time to time. >> is there a simple explanation for it. these people are now getting nicotine from a different source so they smoke less. >> reporter: in the study over four weeks researchers tested exposure to carbon monoxide

and toxin, which is found in lower doses in e cigarettes. doctors found those who switched to e cigarettes completely, cut their exposure by up to 80 percent, and then those who were dual users reduced exposures by up to 603 . >> the message people to stop smoking when they can. >> other studies have shown they are not that helpful for people trying to quit n terms of the safety some research has said that e cigarettes may contain harmful biproducts that might increase risk for cancer. so is there still a lot of debate out there, doctors say cold turkey if you can, by giving up cigarettes is one of the hard things. >> that was starting to see that coming out. >> yes. >> reporter: that study was from britain. maybe their e cigarettes are different over there. >> maybe. >> thanks, stephanie, appreciate it. another day of temperatures in the 90's. >> that is right, heat wave continues, justin, thinks

fifth one of the summer, is that right. >> fifth one and it looks like it would be a five day heat wave.fth one and it looks like we have relief in the forecast, guys, we have to get through one more day and taking a live look at ocean city, boardwalk not that jammed upright now but still a nice evening shaping up in south jersey. we have clouds over us but enough sunshine even still warming temperatures down to the shore at 80. nice breeze off the water. let's see, it hasn't been a long one but it is running into five days as we go through tomorrow. not quite longest we had this season. fifth one of the season. potentially we could see maybe another one next week. we will show you that later in the show in the seven day. right now still 93 degrees in philadelphia. eighty-nine in trenton. lower 80's south jersey. again that flow coming off the the atlantic ocean. humidity for inland spots is up there but it could be worse for this time of the year. we are seeing dew points lower 50's to 60 but south jersey, delaware where we are closer to that flow off the water very humid but those dew points tonight will increase

once again just like last night. stays muggy tonight, steamy for thursday. humidity drops friday. we will start to feel the different republicans. here's labor day weekend. we will drop humidity good. we will call it pleasant on saturday and slightly more humid on sunday. storm scan three is different, as you have been watching, a lot of activity to the west over mountains in west washington, baltimore. we have pop up showers and storms. they will stay there tonight. clear to partly cloudy sky over the overnight hours. we will watch this front to the north bringing us a change to the air math. tomorrow still going to be dry under sunshine and clouds this front moves from the north to south. we will call that a back door cold front. once that front pushes through wind shift out of the north. that will cool us down, back into the the 80's starting on friday and could be a shower or storm friday afternoon which is great because you do need some rain. let's head to the labor day weekend, taking you to the shore heading to south jersey, a little bit breezy.
