good morning, guys. >> good morning, certainly does, doesn't it, justin? so quiet. >> yes, little depressing thinking about summer coming to an end. you know what? it is still officially summer for at least another two and a half weeks. >> there you go. >> so dealing with summer weather, too. it is not going away any time soon. enjoy it if you like the heat and humidity. outside, we go across the river, in palmyra, new jersey, palmyra cove nature park, looking at center city, see the buildings and light. humidity not that bad just yet. but that will be changing over the next 12-24 hours. temperature wise, looking pretty good at the airport, 07 degrees, but the suburbs cooling off nicely, mid 50's, up in allentown, berks county, quakertown coming in at 55 degrees, palmyra itself at 67. visibility, looking pretty good, few areas of patchy fog, especially near the coastline, down to 7-mile visibility in dover, delaware, overall that's pretty good. so travel is looking okay. storm scan3, nice and quiet. and that's how it will stay for this labor day, breakdown hour by hour, mid 70s by 9:00.

the made in america concert had all of the festival had all of the road closures, just know all of the closures will last until tomorrow. erika, over to you. >> speak egg of the music festival, meisha, a another made in america festival closes out the sumner philadelphia. tens of thousands crowded the ben franklin parkway, and now crews, they're in clean-up mode. we check in with justin finch he joins us now where they are hard at work this labor day. good morning. >> reporter: erika, good morning, we're kind of watching another concert going on here, a concert, clean up here, behind this here crews breaking down the stage, piece by piece, and then just over here behind me, to my left here, we've got crews on good old-fashioned broom and trash patrol. let's take you now to video, workers are spread across eakin's oval and along the parkway all the way down to the 20th street, because every year, made in america takes on casino of mission impossible restoring the parkway to its free concert glory, as quickly as possible. it is a very tall task, given that this year's two day

festival brought tens of thousands to the parkway, as many as 70,000 perhaps per day, and of course, these big crowds leave behind big messes, the largest crowds we saw were on saturday night, for beyonce, and on sunday night for rapper j coal. in all, some 60 plus acts spread across five stages over two days and one by newcomber jidena who vows he will be back. take a listen. >> ♪ >> made in america, this year, man, i haven't come before, but i will be here again either as a performer or as a fan. >> reporter: or maybe even as a clean up volunteer. the workers here are paid but as you can see there is lots of work to be done. this is just phase one of the trash pick up we are told. these workers say they got here about midnight. they will be here until this job is done. which they think will be well into the afternoon. so if you are look to go get around the parkway by car it, will likely not happen. there are still lots of

traffic going on here, trucks moving out goods, trash, what have you. so you can probably walk here at some point today. you will not be able to drive around the parkway on this labor day. we are live from the parkway, i'm justin finch, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". erika? >> hopefully people are not driving at all, just kicking their feet up, enjoying this nice holiday. thanks, justin. >> turning to campaign 2016, and big shake up in the democratic presidential pole numbers. new survey shows that vermont senator bernie saunders now pulled ahead of hillary clinton in new hampshire. don champion has that story. >> reporter: bernie saunders travels to manchester, new hampshire today, riding a wave of good news. a new pole shows he surged ahead of hillary clinton therefore the first time. it is presidential election held today, saunders would beat clinton 41% to 32%. if vice president joe biden was in the race, the same

survive. authorities right now searching for a motive. thousands of people are expected to attend the funeral of fox lake illinois police lieutenant joseph glenn wits. he was shot to death last tuesday, as he was chasing three suspects on foot. police continue their search for those suspects. the funeral is scheduled to be held at his old school later this morning. >> 5:07 right now. we now know the name of the teenage girl who died while attending a sleep over with her soccer teammates at a south new jersey home. authority say 14 year old ka died in her sleep. she and her teammates have spent the night outside in a tent at sewell home. the teen was found unresponsive saturday morning. she was pronounced dead at the scene. she was a member of the eastern regional high school girls soccer and lacrosse teams. no details right now on what caused her death. an autopsy is pending but investigators do not suspect foul play. >> we are learning more right now about the condition of the

woman who was also shot in a ambush that killed a news reporter and her photographer. new pictures are posted of vicky garner sitting up and smiling. these are posted on her facebook recovery pages. gardner was shot during live interview with reporter alison parker and photographer, adam ward. the shooting happened last month, in roanoke, virginia. parker and ward died during the attack. gardner is expected to be released from the hospital soon. >> kim davis, the kentucky clerk jailed for refuse to go issue same sex marriage licenses, continuing her fight from behind bars. davis is now appealing a judge's decision that found her in contempt of court. davis object to same sex marriage on religious grounds. she stopped issuing all marriage licenses after the supreme court legalized gay marriage in june. now, davis is an elected official, so she can't be fired. also, her attorneys say that she has no plans to resign. 5:08 this morning. and the minnesota dentist at the center of the cecil the

smoker your wack to school pictures, we love them all. many student heading back to school tomorrow. so sends in your back to school picture tomorrow morning, get the big smiling face on camera. and then post it, just make sure to use the #cbs3, so we can find it and put it on tv for you. well, as children head back to school, some parents may be trying to decide if it is time to get their children a smart phone. brian web, has more on what the experts had to say. computers and ipads not hard to find at the home, but mom, johanna, draws the line at smart phones, for ten year old jack, and six year old charles. >> they have enough electronics, inside to play with. that they don't need to sit outside on their cell phones. >> so how does a parent know a child is ready for a smart phone? pediatrician, core inch cross says it depends on the maturity of the child, but that many families make the decision around middle school.

philadelphia ymca. the group bashers who care offered their service, roughly 200 boys attended the free haircut event, they got more than just a trim. every child also got a fro book. >> we cleaned up with philadelphia free library, and the read by four initiative. every boy that gets a haircut will leave with a reading book, also give away book bags, as well as school smiles, as well. >> just terrific. event at the ymca also hosed different activities for the young boys throughout the day. >> rip current are ralph averaging, delmarva coastline, and they had lifeguards on high alert this weekend. sat date rough surround every turned tragic for one family in ocean city maryland. officials have now confirmed a seven year old girl, drowned, at the southern inlet. they say the child was swept away by waves, sometime after 5:30 p.m., when lifeguards were not on duty. the incident now has some parent keeping a closer ion their children in the surf. >> well, actually, when we

first got here today, she was very upset with me because i said you're not going in. sorry, not happening. please, mom, please, there is other people in there. i'm like no, most of them are adults, they're not kids. kids are staying on the shore. >> life saving experts suggest as always you should swim near a lifeguard. and, rip tides, also creating big problems on the west coast too. lifeguards in manhattan beach and southern california, they're logging around three, four rescues per hour. while on duty. how about that? extra lifeguards have been stationed on busier beaches and bay watch boats helped by patrolling on the water. some beaches have been outright closed. dangerous conditions are expected to continue today. but justin, three, four rescues an hour? nuts. good morning. >> pretty crazy, tough for the lifeguards. it was rough at our area beaches over the weekends, things looking better. i will show you that in just a bit. waking up to quiet conditions outside. actually pretty comfortable start to the labor day, check it out, looking at the ben franklin bridge. nice and quiet, clear skies,

no big areas of fog to deal with this morning. that's good news if you happen to be traveling out. why waste your time sitting in a car today? because we are dealing with a slot of sunshine, there are the headlights -- headlines, sunny skies, more humid over the next few days, then looking at some rain in the forecast, been a while since we had measurable rain at the airport, but look at some of the temperatures, you get away from the city. pretty nice, 56 in allentown, 58 mount pocono, lower 60s in south jersey near the shore point. 59 degrees in cape may. rehoboth beach, delaware, coming in at 65. that comfort index right around the city, dew point temperature shall how much moisture is in the air, kind of high now. back up to 65. yesterday we were upper 4040's, so starting to feel steamy in the city. these dew point may get up to around 70 later in the week. storm scan3, nice and quiet, throughout new england. the mid-atlantic, every now and then you may run into cloud or two. but it is great if you have outdoor plans today or maybe extending your holiday weekends one more day for tuesday, it will be hot,
