that will be the trend over the next 12-24 hours, outdoor plans this afternoon, look great, but check out the temperatures, already up to 83 degrees, this hour, in philadelphia, and wilmington, delaware, dover, delaware at 84 this hour, as well as the lehigh valley up in allentown, similar numbers seeing right now across the suburbs, lower 80s up in doylestown, 82 degrees, mount molly, new jersey, wind shifting out of the southwest, and now, starting to bring in some warmer temperatures, more humidity. remember over the weekend, more of easterly breeze off the ocean, dew point temperature actually just dropped in the past few minute, but overall, it is going to feel not bad to a steamy conditions through the afternoon, really depend where you are. nice and dry on storm scan3, sunshine out in full force, this afternoon. maybe few passing clouds. so, what to expected to, lot of sunshine, very warm temperatures, and humidity levels start to increase. so around the region we go, happy labor day, 90 for the high in philadelphia, lower 80s at the shore and the poconos in the sunshine, talk about even hotter temperatures later this week and with a

>> fourth made in america extravaganza in the history books, clean up underway. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch shows us the big crowd for made in america could be a dry run for the upcoming papal visit. >> beneath the morning fog, a mass made mess on the ben franklin parkway curve. neighbors know the site well, now that made in america has closed out it fourth annual weaken concert right outside their doors. >> my neighbor has been picking up beer bottles since saturday night, all he has is bags and bags of beer bottles because they just drop the beer bottles on the ground. >> overnight, crews were bagging up bottles, too, along with cans, other trash, plus, breaking down all five stages that showcased more than five dozen big names. perhaps none bigger than the closure, beyonce, on the main stage. stage some think might have been better elsewhere. >> i understand the kids want to play. i don't know why they couldn't have put it in the stadium? >> i think it is worth t you

president obama making changes to some workers' benefits. the president is expected to sign an executive order today, it will require paid sick leave for employees as federal contractors. right now, obama in boston where he just spoke at union rally in boston. >> your parents, grandparent, great grandparents, they're the ones who gave us the 40 hour work week. they are the ones who gave us over time and the minimum wage, and all kind of things that folks now take for granted. it was those fight that gave us health insurance, and social security and medicare and retirement plans. all of those gains are union made. >> now, under the new executive order, employees working on federal contracts, they gained the right to a minimum of one-hour of paid leave for every 30 hours they work. >> and vice president joe biden he is in pit burying today kicking off labor day event. hundreds came out this morning, to the allegany county labor day parade, where the vice president delivered

remarks. speaking to a group of union workers, biden said, when unions are -- and labor are strong, it signals a strong middle class. he also said the tax code is unfair. >> i hope everybody in america has a chance to become a millionaire. and we need some billionaires. let me tell you something, man, the tax codes not fair. our job is one thing, all of you, to make sure every parent can look their kid in the eye, knowing they put in full day's work and say, honey, it is going to be okay. that's what labor's about. >> meanwhile the vice president is expected to make a decision by the ends of the month if he'll join the presidential race. >> one person is injured and a half dozen evacuated after fire rips through five row homes in southwest philadelphia. "eyewitness news" reporter steve patterson joins us now, at the scene, with the details for us. steve? >> well, erika, it is often a cliche, but it bears saying, this labor day morning could have been a lot worse. we are talking about five row

homes with nearly two dozen people and no serious injuries. we want to take you closer to the scene, take a look at this, from this morning video, from about 9:30, officials tell us that's when it broke out. this is the 4900 block of saybrook. and i'm told the fire started at the very end unit. unit 20, then started spreading with heavy flames and then a thick dark smoke that really consumed the block. you mention an injury. we have confirmed a firefighter was injured on scene. i'm told it was more trouble in case of smoke inhalation than anything. i'm told he's okay and recovering. meanwhile, crews put down the fire in about an hour's time. fire marshals on scene and investigating. so we spoke to one of the occupant, one of the residents, who made it outside before that smoke consumed the block. >> and when i came out, the block was just filled with thick, dark smoke, and i was able to get out of the block and so just watch it from the

corner, and now we're back to just see what can be done. the houses are done, and we're just waiting for some help, i guess. >> reporter: that help has arrived. as we give you one last look at the scene, the red cross philadelphia is on scene, they tell us they are assisting at least 22 people, but that number could be rising as they continue to help. meanwhile, as we mention, fire officials, fire marshall on scene, investigating just how this happened this morning. reporting from southwest philadelphia, i'm steve patterson, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". steve, thank you. philadelphia police are trying to figure out how two people in the city for last night's made in america concert ended up hit and killed by a cab early this morning. it happened around 4:30 at the intersection of broad and arch. police say a man and a woman both 25 were crossing broad when they were hit by that cab. the woman died on scene. the man died later at the hospital. police say the driver did stop after the crash and he was

taken to the hospital too. it is unclear right now who had the right of way. >> the good thing here, he didn't leave the scene. so we have a lot more than we would have for all of those that do leave. >> witnesses tell police they saw the cab speeding prior to the accident but that still is under investigation. no charges have been filed at this time. the victim's identities have not been released. high school football players side lined from both the team and from school. coming up next, we'll show you the video that has everyone talking, and why are some the football players went that far referee. >> and apple lovers, listen up. later on this week, could you have a heads-up on some new gadgets. we'll tell but what's happening when we come right back.

>> two san antonio football players are suspended from their team and the school after these hits on a referee during a game. >> this happened over the weekends. see that right there? the youtube video shows one player level the referee, then another guy diving on top of him, helmet first. before the rev we hit, two other players from the team were ejected from that game on two different plays, referee now want to press charges. there is a big shake up in the democratic presidential pole numbers. new survey shows vermont senator, bernie saunders, has now pulled ahead of hillary clinton in new hampshire. cbs correspondent don champion more from new york.

>> reporter: bernie sanders travels to manchester, new new hampshire today, riding waiver of good news. new pole shows he surged ahead of hillary clinton therefore the first time. if the presidential reelection were held today, sands worse beat clinton 41% to 32%. if vice president joe biden was in the race, shows him in third place with 16%. in iowa, clinton's 24-point lead in july has been cut more than half to just 11. clinton has been dogged by constant questions about her private e-mail server, while she was secretary of state. she won the 2008 new hampshire primary, and campaigned thereon saturday. >> i've always thought this was going to be a competitive primary. and i welcome that. >> sands err has spent the past several days campaigning in iowa and said saturday -- >> i think the people are getting very nervous about the energy and entheusiasm the campaign is bringing for the.

all right, so here's our weather headline. again, we will be dealing with a lot of sunshine next few days, turning more hot, humid, and we will be dealing with some rain chances in the forecast, that's good news, certainly need the rain. 81 degrees, our average high this time of year. well above that this week. surging into the lower 90s, tuesday, wednesday. by the ends of the week, we get closer to average again. i'll show you that in the seven day. warming up nicely, low mid 80s, mount pocono coming in at 79 degrees, and even heating up nicely down toward the shore points, low 80s, stone harbor, 79 in ocean city, new jersey, how is it going to feel today? little more on the humid side. not that bad just yet. too, really going to feel the difference, call it steamy, that may feel oppressive wednesday, thursday, as the core of the humid air mass builds into the delaware vale. quiet on storm scan3, high pressure still remains in control, right on top of us, blocking any storms from developing, that is why we continue with the sunshine. no threat of rain today, tomorrow, wednesday, we bump up to 50% chance thursday, haven't seen that in a while because every cold front

sunshine, again, a loft sunshine today. break out the barbeque. throw some steaks on the grill, hotdogs, whatever. >> great weather for it, hey, looking to give the holt dogs and burying areas break, why not try something new with a little southern flare? i stopped by headhouse square for a delicious dish to stand out at any barbeque. when it comes to contemporary southern food, there is one place to go. >> welcome to the twisted tail, err. >> i thanks very much. >> absolutely. >> so, we head back to the kitchen. show you what we do on the charcoal grill. today we lined up with the chef back there, some brick cornish hence, do real nice fresh sucktash, and surprise at the ends. don't spoil that. come on back. >> add an apron, we're ready to dive in with the chef. first, cornish game hen. >> what's this mixture on top? >> blackening spice. >> run it on the hen. throw it on your red hot charcoal grill. >> nice sizzle.

>> and then what's this? >> this is the brick. >> okay. >> down it goes. what's do? >> it flattens the surface, so we can cook it evenly. >> okay. >> then it gives it like that flavor. >> two minutes on each side. look at that crispy skin. then finish in 350 degrees oven for about ten minutes. moving on now to our side dish. >> right here we have our sucktash. so we have corn, herbert, peppers, tennessee ham, and i'm going to mix toward the end a little bit of tennessee chow. chow? >> what? cabbage, green peppers, pickled, use any pickled veggie. now, add butter to nice hot pan, add the corn, peppers, ham, season with salt, and let's sewer for about five minutes. >> you want to like a hard seared, but also, you want the vegtables to be crunchy. >> time to plate it up.
