of the work week. usually fridays tends to be a lighter travel day, if i can say, that but today, it looks like it is busy, already it is only 5:30 in the morning, and we already have some problems out here. now, this is one of the incidents right here, jackknife tractor-trailer, west vine ramps to the schuylkill, traffic getting by, you can see, past that far left lane, if you will, they're pushed over, casino every on to the shoulder, trying to get by. but you can see when you look just a sea of headlights trying to get on to the schuylkill, can you not, you will have to go around that. look at this, this is to and from the schuylkill, moving in the westbound direction, this is the back up, because of that jack enough tractor-trailer, so, for those of you just thinking about leaving your homes now, you might want to give yourself couple every extra minute, because if that doesn't get cleared up, as we pushed toward that 6:00 hour, this, which is already bad back up, is going to get much worse. we also have an accident here, the blue route southbound at the off ramp to saint david's, route 30, you can see, it is pretty much blocked, flashing lights overall. this isn't causing any slow downs.

everyone still traveling around at posted speeds, but what is happening is that as they approach that, people are starting to tap on brake lights lit bill. take a peak what's going on. so far so good, though, on this route, just in the enough volume thereto cause too many slow downs. i'll back out of the way here, here is the mass transit checklist. route 101 bussing, so is west trenton, saturday, sunday, norristown high-speed line, passengers must board from the out bond platform. so check your local listing for all of you traveling by that way. erika, back over to you. >> meisha, a thanks. with just more than two weeks until pope francis arrives in philadelphia, city officials released new details that will affect people that live and drive within the secure zone. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live for just center sit which all of the details, good morning, jan. >> nicole, erika, good morning, there have been a lot of concerns about parking from people who live in these secured zones. where will they move their cars? what's the deadline for moving them before there is a threat of getting towed? well, now, city officials detailed a lot of this information, take a look, at the video.

this is just released 3d rent erring, released by secret service, showing what security will look like in center city for the papal visit. in order to set this all up, cars need to be moved out of secured zones. so, city officials now say you must move your car if you park in one every these blue zones, or towing will start sunday september 20th. but, if you buy a plaque adder, to park in a ppa lot, you don't have to move your car until thursday, september 24th. take a listen. >> the philadelphia parking authority will pre-sale spaces, and designated garages, for residents to park beginning at 6:00 p.m. on thursday, september 24th, once a vehicle has entered a garage, it will not be permit today leave until monday morning. the cost is $20 for the entire weekend, and must be purchased in advance. >> and in addition to roads being closed for the papal visit, city officials also now say select waterways will be off limits, to boat traffic.

the us coast guard will establish security zones on portions of the schuylkill and delaware rivers, and they will be in effect from friday september 25th, to monday, the 28th. and when it comes to the rales, officials say, septa regional rail passes, to get you from the western suburbs into center city, they're still available. as far as patco goes, this is actually the last day to buy patco passes for the papal visit on line. so that deadline is today. coming from new jersey, you want to get on that and log on, of course, all of this information on our website broken down all of the specific zones, all the specific areas, and details, and deadlines, on cbsphilly.com. for now, live in center city, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> just so much information out there, you can understand why residents are concerned. >> and what's happening right outside their door or window, it will be an interesting weekend. great weekends, but interesting one. jan, thank you. >> now, new this morning, "eyewitness news" has learned that philadelphia has scrapped

plans, it was supposed to be a campground in fairmount park. so if you couldn't get a hotel room you could camp there. office of emergency management tells cbs-3 it canceled plans because of lack of there. so i guess people aren't that hard up to find a place to sleep. >> they didn't want to sleep in fairmount park. >> apparently not. >> pope francis takes first steps in philadelphia if to will be a red carpet moment. >> carpet 9 feet wide and 75 feet long, was loomed at langhorne carpet in bucks county. carpet sink in the medalian every gold and this is just an extraordinary assignment for this company. the company made it their gift to the holy father. >> we wanted something that wobble gant, but sim somebody, possibly not religious, so we went with some of the images from the stained glass windows at the cathedral. >> langhorne also loomed two large accent rugs in green with the same gold medalian design, for the rectory where the pope will dress for mass privately. i know that's a big honor for them.

cover out there. he says over 2 inches of much needed rain yesterday. now the humidity can drop any time now. ladies are saying how nice you look in your suit, too. so rosies looking dollars government we have good looking weather watchers, people. charm, good morning to you, he's in bath, pa, six after degrees. he said he got much needed rain, as well, over 2 inches in 24 hours. that was a rough ride, though, wasn't it? because we had the rain come so quickly. i think a lot of people were concerned about flooding. i'll head down to philadelphia, we do one closer to town here. lynn, good morning to you, 67 degrees in cherry hill. and she says the air feels fresh this morning. and my garden is singing with the crickets. awesome. there go. that's what this rain was great for. now, we only had about inch of rain from august 1st to september 9th. but look at what a drought buster this was. as we got that extra rain in there. now, as of yesterday, 4.76 inches of rain. so big, big difference everybody. these are s rain totals too. ly set daily record in philadelphia as you can see with the 4.76 inches, also

daily record there in trenton at 1.68. you see, we got over 3 inches there in milton, cory ville. live look at storm scan3, you can see, all of that is now moving out. we do have little business to talk about. another front, toward the weaken, not going to bode well for weekend forecast, but today looking great. going out to the double head their, the phillies game, beautiful 08 degrees for game one. lovely evening. game two we think will start about 8:00. should be about 78 degrees, very comfortable there. winds nice and light. that's what you call good baseball weather. >> this front tracks out, beautiful day today. second front tracking toward us, means, little stormy weather, saturday afternoon, possibly rain on sunday. in the by sunday, hoodies just in the 70s. and then we clear out as we get to monday. so, little bit of rain for the weekend. not great news there, but today i think it will be beautiful. less humid, 82 degrees, clouds decrease, get the sunshine there. tonight 65 degrees, comfortable. so if you would like to go out and about this evening great time to take a stroll. seven day forecast shows we do

we check in with kyla and meisha, a wet roads out, there hoping the rain moves out soon. morning, ladies? good morning, yes. it certainly is affecting our morning commute. just like we saw yesterday. casino of rolling over into today. kyla, how is it looking? >> tell you what, we saw record rain yesterday, here in philadelphia. casino of unbelievable how much came down. and the heavy rain led to flooded out roads in the area. take a look routed, mantua township, road closed overnight, happy to tell you that the water has receded. and now, route 45, is open, but, you know, that was the concern i am of the rain coming down so quickly, things looking better instead of worse. live look at the neighborhood network. this is rehoboth. the boardwalk. not a road but walkway. you can see someone out there walking. notice it is a little wet out there. so, 68 degrees right now. probably little slippery. so careful, folks. it is 68 in philadelphia, as well, about 61 degrees, if you're in mount pocono, good morning to all of
